Listening is often taught with an assessment-based approach through recorded dialogues and multiple-choice or short-answer questions based on the audio text. While this approach can provide information about learners' listening abilities, it does not allow learners to develop communicative listening skills. In other words, it is not the best for helping learners develop listening comprehension skills needed for real life communication. In this webinar, we will explore strategies for developing a communicative listening comprehension curriculum. Participants will discover a structured approach to designing effective communicative listening comprehension lesson plans that can be used with a variety of listening texts and in diverse language learning contexts.
