This is a tutorial video about the SEQ16 pitch and gate sequencer module for the AE Modular system from tangible waves. I'm explaining the different inputs, outputs and controls and demonstrate how to clock it from a simple LFO or via MIDI. The SEQ16 is quite unique because you only tune up to 5 notes which you can then assign to each step. This is a limitation, but also makes tuning so much easier than with other sequencers, especially if you don't have a quantizer.
I hope you like my tutorial videos and I'm really interested in your comments on which modules I should do next or how to improve these videos.

A very thoughtful explanation, thanks a lot! Even absolute beginners have a chance here to follow and understand this system. Great! 😊

Many thanks again, for a really informative video. I am planning on getting the SEQ 16 very soon as well as a few other AE Modules, so this has come at such a great time for me. I've just subscribed to your channel so I don't miss out on any more of your wonderful AE Modular Getting Started series. Please keep them coming, these are very useful and well explained, and are helping a lot.

Thanks Jeremy! I must admit that I only started making these tutorial videos because you asked for it :) And I'm really glad you did, because making these is a lot of fun.

Well I'm very grateful to you for making them! and glad you are having fun also. I must admit, I watched your TRIQ164 earlier, and now making some great beats, and I have you to thank for that. Im having a ball, and learning lots of stuff on the way. Please keep making them!

Thank you for your great videos! I'm viewing them to understand which modules I will need for the AE I'm about to order :-) I would be interested to see a tutorial/review of the: Algodrone and Grains modules? Keep up the great work!

I really like your videos - very easy to understand. I'd like to see what can be accomplished with a Starter Rack 1 and a Starter Rack 2, but that information is not available from the manufacturer. Is this something you can demonstrate? Thank you.

Thanks! Check out my videos about the AE Mini Modular ... not really a Rack 1, but shows what you can do with just a minimal set of modules.

I’ve been loving your tutorials! Something I’ve been wondering about is connecting the small pin cables that the AE system uses to 3.5 mm jacks, like the CV outputs on the Keystep. Are there adapters for that, or is there no way to connect them?

Vigilance Brandon I'm glad you like my videos. I made another tutorial that answers your question ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x_8RMLOcix8.html

This is very very useful. Thanks for sharing this. I have the Rack 1 so i won't be able to fit this 16 Step Sequencer in my rack but i'm wondering if i can part with some of the modules i don't need and make room....but most of the modules i have i need so this is going to be a tough one. if you look at my Videos i'm very tight on space...Any advice?

Hi @rhampton, I'm not sure how I can help you other than to say ... get a bigger case! There are over 30 modules now in the AE Modular system and Robert is adding more all the time. That said, I had a lot of fun playing with a tiny tiny setup at Superbooth and I'll show this in my next video. Also from looking at your videos, I think you may have plenty of sequencing options and may not need the SEQ16?

@@The5thVolt Appreciate your response, thanks...I do see your point about sequencing options....i do plan on expanding soon and moving to a bigger table and in that case maybe getting another case and having the opportunity to take full advantage of these awesome modules...Thanks for your videos and look forward to your next one
