Great vid as always! I'm not sure if it's just for the US/Evike run, but those QOL upgrades are nice; the first batch of Aegis FMG9 in Asia didn't come with the extra pins and only had a single low-profile baseplate that came with it, so new pins plus more baseplates is great. I'm almost surprised they didn't just include the knurled pins installed, but perhaps those came late enough to not be worth swapping out on already assembled kits. The first run also all had a large white "Made in Taiwan" stamp on them - I think this might have been due to Korean import requirements as I've seen other Korean airsoft guns with this, and my guess is that Aegis (based in Korea) actually imported all the first run for in-person QC in Korea, and then re-exported, even to Taiwan where I got mine, despite their having contracted out the manufacture to somewhere in Taiwan in the first place. Also from my understanding the Octopus kit is just modified from a cheap gelball/foam dart toy kit, which is why it's... not as clean as the Aegis by far. For tracers, there are some people who modified some to fit, though it's very tight; I believe some I saw were 5KU tracers - which are already quite slim - with their housing removed and maybe some more modification to the kit or tracer in order to fit.
The second batch in Hong Kong also doesn’t come with the extra baseplates or the extra pins. They did remove the white made in Taiwan text. The 5ku tracer (the completely caseless version with the transparent holder removed) does fit but requires 3D printing a holder or it doesn’t quite line up.
This is the most competent airsoft review video I have ever seen. Just picked one up today so now I gotta figure out the best way to build out the internals.

Sweet. Someone made a conversion kit. I've been after one of these since I first saw the now long discontinued PTS Folding Pocket Gun. It's my ideal secondary for my sniper loadout.
I think the bigger issue with the Magpul FMG not going into production was that it was gonna be an SBR out of the box. That kind of hurts your market when you can fill out the tax stamp, knock up your wife the same day and still not have the gun by the time she goes into labor. Same issue the new real steel FMG is going to have. Also how do you think the FMG stacks up to other GBB stocked pistols/PCCs/machine pistols? B&T USW, KWA Skorpion/MAC, etc.
The FMG-9 by Aegis is a conversion kit, borrowing parts from a diff gun to make a diff gun. I saw they produced two versions for concept display, one without a stock and one with. Personally for someone who lives in middle-europe, i really fucking want the FMG/FDC-9... it looks so cyberpunk and good that it's goated for me. But no, we only have the BWC which looks weird...
I feel like a good carry solution for the way these folding guns were designed to be used, would be some sort of conceal carry, armpit holster for wearing under a jacket. I suppose for a LARP that would only work if you were playing as a bodyguard, but it still has potential for fun usage. Also, a satchel (read: Man-purse) would probably carry it well enough concealed.
18:33 flip up red dot sight might do well on this platform maybe you can angle the stock by add one more hole near the locking slot?(* to angle the stock)
What about just attaching a spring belt clip from a knife onto the 'stock' ? that will clip the gun to a belt, pocket, molle strap etc.. with fast removal, I guess you could attach an elastic lanyard for safety if you're doing lots of running and jumping up and down.
this kit is absolutely badass. but I'd rather upgrade my HFC M11 with the King Arms cnc pdw m11 kit. it's 10%-15% cheaper and arguably more practical for CQB arenas.
its prob too exp for an airsoft kit to be more costy than an actually firearm kit, limiting itself from most of the player base, including myself. and yeah m11 is hell more fun in full auto tbh
Honestly might not be a bad side arm for a sniper. At my first lion claws I used a full size mk18 as a sidearm for my ssg10 which was hefty so this might be a good option for an in-between of the mk23 that so many people like and an m4. Honestly just seems gimmicky in a world of tmp9 and mp7s. Still really cool though and might be interesting for someone doing a speedqb build on a glock with an hpa tap.
for carrying option i recommend a sling mount made by eagle eye. It replaces the 2 pin with a screw on sling mount. also a monstrum carrying handle with integrated micro red dot mount is good choice for the handle, allowing u to carry it without grabbing over the red dot
Unfortunately I got the much crappier kwa version in a lot buy and since they discontinued it I’m pretty much just gonna keep it as a fancy paper weight or fidget toy, great video though on the aegis kit!
Still prefer the original KWA one. - KWA is official licensed so it got magpul logo on the grip - KWA build material and quality feels better, springs and flip action are more tight. - It has the extended barrel - It is a g18c pre-installed, so there is full auto capability - In my country, the full package with the kwa g18c included only sold for around 240 USD second hand, and there is still plenty on the market with that price tag.
-Aegis has the correct FGM 9 markings, KWA FPG has FPG markings, and you can find Aegis models with Magpul logo on grip in Asia, so Aegis FMG 9 is just better in terms of markings. Actually, the only fact that the KWA FPG has FPG markings makes it already a bad FMG 9 replica in terms of realism (you cannot change molded markings in polymer). -Aegis material (nylon 66/PA 66) and build quality are actually way better than KWA FPG (and better R&D improvements, steel parts used). -Extended barrel is available. -You can install any G17 or G18 from either Marui, VFC or WE, so there is also full auto compatibility but the compatibility range is even bigger. Marui and VFC g18c systems are way better than KSC/KWA (I owned 3 of them and cooldwon resistance of KWA/KSC is just ridiculous and so poor compared to Marui or VFC, they both have way better cooldown resistance than KWA/KSC) -Indeed price tag is higher than KWA FPG, but the quality is way better, and this is exactly the same replica (based on plans of FPG) but just way improved because of the intense R&D work behind it. Conclusion : Aegis FMG 9 is clearly a better quality and more realistic replica of a RS FMG 9 than KWA/KSC FPG, who is not even a replica of FMG 9 but an unique model developed by Magpul with help of KWA as manufacturer, only for airoft, and "inspired" by FMG 9.
the thing is, the actual idea itself of a foldable smgthat can be easily concealed is a good idea for certain aplications, but outside the few, its not really practical

@@fiskersproductions their “upgrades” are often overpriced or literally just stock setups. Some of the “upgrades” are also not installed properly leading to breakages and then they claim your warranty is voided cause it’s user induced. All in all if you can get a certain replica from a different store I’d highly suggest doing so !
