We know that the renewables is a very expensive but this government is obsessed with the climate change saga. The only solution is to get rid of this government.
In the private sector incompetent clowns who are leading our energy transition in Australia would not be tolerated in the private sector because shareholders take a dim view those who are blatantly wasting their money. Theere will be no accountability because Australiian voters have accepted that it is OK for Labor politicians to waste billions of taxpayers' money on ideological nonsense and because of having not the slightest clue about what they are supposed to achieve in terms of tangible outcomes.
Bowen knew it as well but they are buying votes with lies and that's all that matters to them. Tell the public what they want to hear, get the vote then make excuses for the failures years down the track like blaming the Liberal Party. This is what leftist do.
@@rickjohnson2165 I think they all know it, but they are all in on the global renewables scam so they avoid talking about reality until they absolutely have to.
The real problem begins when these entities start receiving their dividends. Victoria has recently paid out $200 Million to France, China and Spain to their new energy Overlords.
You can almost do the maths in your head , installing 20,000 bird killing wind turbines , clearing of land , virgin land in some cases , making roads to have access to the towers , thousands of miles of power transmission lines , massive battery banks ( if they don't catch fire) to store energy for when the wind don't blow , and all these things require ongoing maintenance and will need replacement when their service life expires , it is truly hard to see any scenario where the final product being energy is cheap.
Yep and wind/solar has approx 25 year life span before 100% replacement. You hope in that 25 years of claimed climate change storm increases don't wipe out massive amounts of solar panels. Then battery storage, likely max of 15 years before 100% replacement and none of all 3 are yet recyclable without costing a fortune to do so. Great money making business.
Labor really don't care what the Australian people think or feel they only represent the w.e.f. the contempt they have for the Australian people knows no bounds.
Why has Chris Bowen… with no business experience except buddying up with other union and govt members having discussions, more discussions… with no true outcomes! The guy is a numbskull… he has got to go.Albo as you leave take him too!
The cost of back up batteries for unreliable wind and solar is at least $10 TRILLION. This can be confirmed by a simple spreadsheet analysis that anyone can confirm.
Bowen needs to have his finances forensically audited, I reckon he is either on the take, or heavily invested in "unreliables", which would be a conflict of interest. Bowen has been flogging a dead horse and telling us it is a Melb Cup winner to be. Now that makes the people extremely gullible, or, he is bulls hitting us, I honestly think it is the latter, and not tge former. Bowen is not acting in Australias best interests, so the question must be asked, whose best interests is Chris Bowen acting in?. Is he being blackmailed?, is he on the take?, two things are for damn sure, he isn't on the level, and he is on the nose.....
The POS 'energy minister' needs to be held FINANCIALLY accountable for his mismanagement of this portfolio. The waste is unbelievable and there are only two scenarios - he is either totally inept OR he has financial 'interests' in green energy. It can't be both. If its the former, oust the grub or if its the latter - hit the dock.
It's hard to actually understand all the detail to do with cost of energy. But what I do understand is that if Bowen endorses, promotes and argues for something, then it's almost certainly a complete dud.
2022 price of electricity in SA was 42cents, Vic and WA 19cents, guess which was renewables. Latest Vic prices are 40cents. Guess who has gone away from coal and is more renewables?
It's simply too complicated for Labor and the Teals and the greens to understand the interdependencies within the electricity market. You may as well be talking to kindergarten kids. None of these people know the drastic impacts of what they are preaching. God help us if their reckless policies continue.
Chris Bowen should be sacked the man has no idea. Remember electricity was going to be so much cheaper and remember his Boss ( MY WORD IS MY BOND) incompetent people.
What Labor CAN guarantee is no-one buying a new home, (he needs them for his immigrants), rentals will continue to rise (making aussies struggle even more, much to his delight) Remember the WEF forums motto, YOU WILL NOT Own you home and be happy etc
So much for the B.S. assurances from Turtle-Head and AnAl that Intermittent Unreliables are cheaper and better. I bet Turtle Head gave similar assurances to the 2,000 aspiring Labor-voters he ensoggened in the Timor Sea, when they boarded Labor's "Leaky Boat Cruise Lines" when he was Labor "Minister for Porous Boarders, Undocumented Illegal Immigrants and People-Smuggler Franchising". P.S. I'm still waiting for that $275.00 off my power bills that AnAl promised on 97 different occasions before the last election when 68% of the electorate voted AGAINST Labor.
If so renewables are a joke compared to nuclear which supplies power for at least 80 years.I remember when Vales Point power station was built a LONG time ago !! Now they tell us that sun and wind infrastructure will only last 20 years !!They are complete mugs.
That is the fallacy of the whole system. You will be charged to store anything you don’t use. Storage costs are extremely high. Your rooftop system can’t deliver electricity cheaper per kWh than a grid scale solar pv facility. And a grid scale solar pv facility delivers electricity to consumers at twice the price or more of a nuclear reactor. With no coal and without nuclear, Australia is simply ‘fucked’
I grew up with nuclear power 50 years ago in the UK. It had been running for over a decade by then and when I migrated 40 years ago I thought we were lagging behind then. I just can't get my head around the objections. The only conclusion I can come to is that much of the population are just dense.
True, true. Under educated at any rate. Having said that, anti nuclearism is primarily political and political agendas get pushed hard throughout a young person formative years… schools and universities, i’m looking at you….😂
Thank you!!! First time I have heard anyone properly explain how energy is priced in Australia!!!! So, Bowen is saying rubbish!!! Bowen is saying rubbish!!!
The least cost pathway is that defined by government policy, ie no fossil fuels. Whatever pathway is chosen that uses renewables the final cost has to include the cost of providing reliable backup ie gas. So, for every MW of renewables you install you have to have 1MW of backup somewhere.
Firstly: WA retains 25% yearly NWS Gas Production, purely for this State's Domestic, Businesses, Energy Uses! Which was set up before NWS was fully operational after replacing WANG'S depleting gas supplies for the same purposes! Secondly: Most definitely, it looks like you've been suckered in big time, and suppose you're the same as the majority out there, didn't do their own homework! Get told by any form of politicitico aligned with LEFTIST Industry's alongside Commrade so-called x-spert types and Universities, accept unconditionally at your peril! Thirdly: I had the best and Horse's Mouth Education! growing up being informed on Power Generation Principles! My father was Superintendent of Power Station for 20 years in the WA Pilbara Mining Sector, company being Hamersley Iron. He's discusted at all these simple-minded, uneducated X-Spert Politicalicos, etc! Where he and many others like him are ALL convinently dismissed and forgetten about, not to mention, they're still attempting to survive in today's Australian unbareable powerless societies!
I still have not received a cent of the supposed $300 rebate I was meant to be getting this year, in fact what I actually got was power bills that over this winter got as high as 3x what I was paying in 2020, though I did admittedly use my heating a bit more this year too as it was very cold due to global er, 'warming'
Shocked that prices won’t come down and we may not make renewable targets, but let’s bring in 1 million plus people. Is there something in Canberra’s water???
How many batteries do they need ,they don't know. If they don't work they will bring another idea and another until the costs are beyond the average person and business can afford. Lucky i have a sharp axe.
As an Australian who has lived in Europe now for years, I can tell you that the wind generators which litter this once-beautiful countryside lie dormant for much of the time due insufficient wind. Many fail and the blades are feathered, rendering them useless at producing electricity, although the running costs, including rent and maintenance, continue. When they do operate, they kill birds, provide a serious hazard for crop dusters, and further, the installed base only contributes 9% of this country's energy production at full-tilt (which is very rare). They are costly to build and install; the land on which they are constructed must be either purchased or rented. In the case of terrestrial installations, the land is usually either farm or vacant land, and the investment's worth cannot be linked to the land's current utilization of energy production, it will appear as an asset on the balance sheet, but it will prove a poor investment simply due to its nature. Marine installations are even worse, they are extremely expensive to build and maintain due to the harsh environment. That expensive maintenance is also dangerous to maintenance workers, and the whole installation is hazardous to certain marine life. Wind generators have a limited life, and require regular costly and dangerous maintenance including lubricating oil replenishment. The end-of-life processes are not clearly defined, and as with their resource sapping and costly contruction, deconstruction is problematic and expensive. They are clearly not a viable solution even though the magic of "energy for free" is alluring. The politicians in Australia who are championing wind energy as a "magic wand solution" for energy production, are a ridiculously impractical group of under-education and under-informed people, they view this as an "experiment" at the taxpayer's expense and have not undertaken sufficient reseach on viability even though much data is now available. Don't go there!
Blind Freddy could see we need baseload power. The more renewables we get, the cost goes up because the baseload needs to keep spinning to cover when a cloud comes over the Solar, and the wind stops. Yes, Blind Freddy can see it, but not Blind Bowen.
