Aeonium simsii is endemic to Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. This was filmed near Cruz De Tejeda. It is a very common species. A. simsii is unique among the Aeoniums because the flower buds are produced laterally and not from center of rosette and thus the rosette does not shrivel after flowering.
It grows in the highest elevations of Gran Canaria and has small highly toothed leaves and yellow flowers.
