Waycross is great for its high volume of train traffic, but it is usually not so easy to get a good view from the ground. Enter: the drone!
Waycross, Georgia is located 33 miles northwest of Folkston, Georgia, another popular train spot, or about 70 miles northwest of Jacksonville, Florida.

There are some good spots from a street bridge (E of the yard), from the west side of the yard, on the southwest side of the wye, as well as in front of the picturesque historic depot.

That's true! Waycross is definitely a spot I'd like to go back to at some point. 🙂

Awesome footage of the Rice Yard area . I looked around YT and you're the only drone footage I found. Is the drone to noisy to use the audio ?

Thanks! The drone actually does not record audio at all, and it would be far too noisy to use anyway. Some of my drone videos do have audio from another device (a smartphone) that I manually sync to the video.
