According to a 2018 estimate, Pilibhit district has over 800 sq.km. forests, constituting roughly 23 per cent of the district’s total area. Its moist deciduous forests have sal Shorea robusta forests with 127 animals, 556 bird species and 2,100 flowering plants. The woodlands and forestlands are interspersed with grass meadows. In addition to tigers, they are home to diverse fauna from spotted Deer, Swamp Deer, Hog deer, barking deer, and sambhar deer, sloth bears and more.
