Looks like you both had a great day. My grandfather had 2 Frazer Nashes. One is now in Canada in the care of a relative. They are brilliant cars. Fast as anything modern, but with no differential so have to be drifted to make rapid progress round bends.
Yup, always loved the Bristol car co products. And I guess the engineering & styling did actually come from aircraft engineering? Loved the video Dom. Les
My first bicycle was old when I got it, needed a bit of work. I boiled the chain in oil because some of the links went round in pairs! Perfect after that. Rode it for a few years after it was fully fettled , then sold it to a neighbour for more than I paid for it.
Great show. I really like that Menasco. I found out that the engine was made in Los Angeles. What engine would you use on a replica? The grey 4 door at the end, an Austin?
Hi Dom '. You're definitely educating Jon ! He made the comment about the Bristol having an aircraft interior . That's because it was the Bristol Aircraft Company's first production motor car . Bizarrely , it utilised the B.M.W engine from the pre-war 308 . The grille pays homage to the manufacturer . However , as Bristol had " pinched " the engine they wasted enormous funds converting all of the metric fittings into imperial ! .....Have you got the spot welder working yet? The guarantee is just about to expire !! Take care Dom .
The Standard Vanguard is spacious & comfortable, however when performing night-time gymnastics it's interesting when you stick your knee in the horn ring!
Great video gents, very interesting to get a glimpse of some fantastic engineering, but for pure looks that Bristol is one of the most beautiful things I've ever. Thanks men always entertaining Eddy xx
Another brilliant vid Dom and John, thanks !! You should come along to Prescott Speed Hill Climb in Gloucestershire...great fun and the Paddock is great with owners and drivers very accessible for a chin wag !! Cheers, Neil
Did not realize Jons eyes were that bad, take him into a charity shop and have a rummage in the old spec box. The back end on that Standard Vanguard was nothing like our 57 saloon
Paired with a Townes Aston Martin Lagonda, behind the Husler? Except the rear end looks different from other Lagondas I've seen. Perhaps, the later models (this one's an '89 or '90 - 'G' plate) had a different rear light design?
