I have the new Giro Eclipse Spherical and this is the best fitting helmet I have ever had on my head. Very compact around the head !!! and very beautiful.
I have the Smith Ignite and I really like it. It is very comfortable. I think it does have a little extra weight, but I don't notice it. I feel the air flowing through it very well. I even wore it in a grandfondo with lots of climbing (about 2,700 meters)and it didn't bother me. I tried Kask and absolutely hate that helmet. It just doesn't work for me.
Kask Protone I have for road biking. So popular here in south Florida. Bought a Mojito for gravel riding also. Used to have a Bontrager Aero helmet i forgot the model name back a few years ago. I since retired it and discarded it.
these are just above my budget 😞 I just upgraded from cheap no-brand helmet to HJC Ibex v1 + Met Strale from BF sales. So far so good, theyre light tho no mips👌
... had lots of Kasks,* awesome!* Crashed in them,* too* (!) and was* very glad I had them on.* Seems that at least your memory of spelling and punctuation was damaged in one of these crashes, right?😉
I have a Kask Bambino. Your selection does not include TT helmets, which are much more aero. These are used exclusively in mass start track racing. By the way, I assume that you've never heard of Cadomotus, a Dutch brand that makes speed skating equipment. They have an aero skating helmet that can also be used for cycling.
I just got the Evade 3. I definitely made the right choice. More ventilated than Evade 2. As for the team sponsorships, they only sponsor 3 mens pro teams (QS, Bora and Total Energies) and one womens pro team (SD Worx).
No real independent aero testing. I dunno why it’s so hard to find aero testing data about these aero helmet… wheels? ✅ tires? ✅ bars? ✅ frames? ✅ 🧦 ? ✅ but helmets? Very hard to find
I have a Trenta, its quite aero according to some testing, but mainly its well ventilated, i'm picki on that. But all of this MET's aero helmet is the Manta!
I have a kask protone and met rivale mips. Despite the mips safety, I ride 90% protone because I feel it has more air cooling design that flowing the air in and out of the helmet at the top. In tropical weather it’s so important
Do you know if the padding absorbs sweat and dries out well or retains sweat like a sponge? Currently, using a giro and the padding absorbs and dries out well without dripping out when squeezed.
But you didn't compare the aerodynamic drag for each of these helmets, and you didn't provide a final summary table showing the drag in grams for thr helmets you reviewed at the end. Disappointing video gets a thumbs down
Helmets are all about the same. I just want the best looking lid (purely subjective) and it has to dock my sunglasses in the front of the helmet). My vote is the Lazer G1
Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ru-vid.comUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)
5:13 - Manufacturer A claims that its helmet B is x seconds quicker than its helmet C ... at the exact same speed. How does the person who says such nonsense aloud in public not be ashamed, quit their job and move to a monastery?! And why do you bother to repeat such nonsense instead of calling it what it is?!
Believe it or not, the most aero helmet is still the one worn by Greg Lemond to beat Laurent Fignon in the tour De France! The 'old' 'crap' is still the company's best selling helmet.
Met Trenta (Manta is their most aero helmet, but Trenta is supposedly almost as good and has excellent ventilation) and Kask Utopia (their aero lid) for me.
are you kidding? wtf is very fast helmet? 10 watts at 40 kph? well i want to know how fast is every helmet you mention, not just general 10 watts what helmet is fastest? is there a helmet that hardly gives you any speed boost? is there data to back this up? is there a credible source?
Yes there is wind tunnel testing. And yes 10w is a significant amount. I think the savings is usually a bit under that though. I've heard it's up to 8w, which is also a lot for just a helmet. Consider that improvements are also made in many other places (body position, clothing, frame, wheels, front handlebar area)
No helmet. And shave your head. I found that is the best solution for max speed. Of course, the term "playing with one's life" is child's play next to riding this way.
Free in this case refers to not having to work any harder....not the financial cost. 🤣🤣But yeah - it's not FREE for sure! That being said a decent road helmet from a known brand is going to cost you $200 - so an extra km/h for $100 isn't a bad trade.
@@jaredfontaine2002 Yes of course....and when you do that, you still have the option to opt for another km/h of additional speed with the helmet....in fact you'd expect that the gains would get larger the faster you were capable of riding.
