Love this rack design for bikepacking. 5000km on mine. It fits all 4 of my bikes (including the fat bike and hardtail). The rack allows for streamline aero setup (dry bag parallel to the ground) so headwind is not too bad. It does weight the same as pannier setup with less cargo space.

Thanks for watching 🙊 Yeah i do like the design and i have to admit I thought it would of been a failure as it looked to good to be true but it has been a great addition to the commuter bike 🐵

Well just watched and great vid, but not a fan of that rack, don’t like side mounted bags and think if on top would be set to far back, I’m about to test a tumbleweed t rack, might do a vid as think it’s more suited to my bikepacking trips.

Its a really robust and secure system on the bike, which i am surprised at with the way it is mounted. I personally think with the pannier attachment to run pannier bags it may be suitable for most people. The attachment is steep at £74.99. I will say for anyone that has a mountain bike this is def an investment 👍 I will keep it tho. Look forward to seeing your video 🙌

Depending on the angle of your seat stays, it can be placed either way (180 degrees) so you have clearance to use your dropper post. :)

Hello, what panniers work for this? Would be interested
@ThatCyclingChimp

For panniers you would be looking at the Aeroe Pannier system which is the same but the difference is the attachment that goes onto the rack. Then you can probably use any pannier with that. Word of caution tho… you can buy the pannier bracket separately but it is quite expensive therefore cheaper to buy the system if you have not already got it.

@@ThatCyclingChimp oh I see it on the website now. But the weight is quite heavy! I guess this could be noticeable on a long trip like the tour divide trail.

For carbon frames i would check on the @aeroe website for more info.

People regularly use them on carbon, I would use tape under it to protect your paint.

Do you find the bike weighty at the back being a lighter frame?

I had this rack and their bags. Frankly, they're crap. The rack itself weighs a ton. Granted its rock solid, but still, very heavy. Secondly, unless you mount everything waaaaay off the back, you end up clipping with your heels. Having to mount things so far backwards plays havoc with the handling. Thirdly, the Aeroe dry bags are so stiff that you can only use about half their capacity if you want to actually close the roll top. Finally, no bag is held securely as the straps are inadequate. I wanted the system to work, but it just hasn't been thought out properly.

Thanks for watching 👍 Each to there own. If that is how you feel on the system that is your opinion and I appreciate you commenting. For me i cant feel the weight on the bike riding. Lifting it is another story. I am not endorsed or sponsored by Aeroe in any way but I think its a viable system and suits my needs. I thought my feet would clip the bag also but it did not to my surprise. The dry bag is stiff as hell i will admit.

I am likely going to get this system, and have not heard this complaint anywhere else. Also the weight isn’t any heavier than other systems when you add it all up. There may be lighter racks, but the compatible bags or panniers are more heavy. This type of strap is generally not my preference either, but easily fixed with some voile straps. Are you interested in selling yours?

Try mounting the cradle 90 degrees so the bottom of the bag is backwards vs forward. This might clear your heels.
