Yes, this is Liv Tyler, Steve Tyler's (the vocalist's) daughter. :-) The scenes are from the movie "Armageddon". I wish I could, once in my life, experience such love, given and taken, and sing such a song to my love. I turned 54 today and there is not even a remote chance that that's gonna happen. I feel bloody lonely, only enhanced by the pandemic which precludes or makes very difficult any emotional and social relationships.
Some interesting info, Aerosmith hails from my home of Boston, Massachusetts. He has a home in a town called "Marshfield" which is a couple towns over from where I live. When Steven is in town/home. He's just a regular guy. You can see him at the supermarket, mall, annual fairs, carnivals etc. He's always so down to earth, and approachable. Never shy from signing an autograph, or taking a selfie with a fan. Just an all around nice guy. Ironic for such a rock legend to still be so humble. 🤘😊
I thought he only had the modest lake Sunapee house in NH. He made it seem like he only lives there. There’s a great interview there by Oprah. But hes got a mansion... Not judging on that and his home is still the NH childhood home. but, also to quote McConaughey “I get older, they (girlfriends) stay the same age”
Yup, I bumped into him a couple times at the old Hanover Mall, and also saw him out and about around Norwell. One time in Friendly's, an old girlfriend of mine and a few of her pals saw him sitting with his wife. They were all giggling and staring, when all of a sudden, Steven got up, walked over and squished into the booth with them. He asked them what they were eating, and each one told him which sundae they had ordered. He actually asked for (and got) a taste of a couple of different sundaes. After a few minutes chatting about music and stuff, he signed a few autographs, thanked them for being fans, and said he had to get back to his wife or he'd get in big trouble.
I liked that Steven Tyler said after viewing the movie, he and Joe Perry had been so emotional, and said that they had to do a song for the movie. And that's how we got this beautiful masterpiece.
@@trismaccarran9950 it was written by both Aerosmith because joe Perry (lead guitarist) helped write the masterpiece and Steve Tyler and as you said Dian Warren also helped write it.
@@andyjimenez5618 The song was written by Diane Warren, who originally envisioned it would be performed by "Celine Dion. In 1997, Diane Warren was watching Barbara Walters interview James Brolin and Barbra Streisand. Brolin said he missed Streisand when they were asleep, and Warren wrote down the words "I don't want to miss a thing", before there was even a song. It was one of many songs written by Warren in that period. The original version was a collaboration between Chicago musician Phil Kosch of Treaty of Paris and Super Happy Fun Club, and nephew of chart topping writer Lou Bega. Bega introduced the two and they penned the initial track, but ultimately Kosch was uncredited. "When I first heard it," recalled drummer Joey Kramer, "it was just a demo with piano and singing. It was difficult to imagine what kind of touch Aerosmith could put on it and make it our own… As soon as we began playing it as a band, then it instantly became an Aerosmith song."
@@chcx5275 Thank god, she didn't sing it. Cause there's only one person who gives you the thrills, by expressing his emotions in this way and thats Steve Tyler. In my opinion the song and Aerosmith are one.
I remember when the movie came out and the song came out. At that time I just had my first boyfriend and was all hyped about it. We chose this song as 'our' song so even if it was a long time ago, this song will always hold a special place in my heart. If you haven't seen Armageddon I would highly recommend it.
Well, I learnt something new today this song was actually written by Diane Warren and she envisioned someone like Celine Dion singing it. I'm so happy that Aerosmith reworked it because it's so much better as a Rock Ballad.
The movie is Armageddon... Bruce Willis was Liv Tyler's dad in the movie and he didn't come back from the mission. He sacrificed himself to save humanity.
I have felt this kind of love in my lifetime and I am grateful for that. I always thought this was a love song between a man and a woman. I could totally see this being about the love of a parent for a child, now! Thanks for another great reaction. 🌎✌️
I've always loved this song- the strings are so beautiful and add such a contrast to his raw, powerful voice. But when I had my babies I suddenly understood that intense love where you can watch them sleep and it melts your heart 💓
Some of the best love ballads of all time, come from the hardest of rock groups we have ever had, which further proves, NEVER judge a book, by it's cover, ***IT’S ALL IN THE LYRICS*** ❤️❤️❤️ Loved your reaction K.S.O. ❤️❤️❤️
Kemi, I just got word that my brother passed away earlier tomight. Needed someplace to hang out and think, came here as a safe place. Ironic this was your newest post, it's a good song from somebody I admire. Stay well, and thank you 🌹
I think it's rare that people connect so emotionally to a song in the way you do, no holds barred (certainly no tissues). Steven Tyler has pipes for rock, but he does a ballad justice. And Diane Warren is a wonderful songwriter. Heartfelt reaction 👍
I couldn't grieve for my mentally and physically disabled sister until I heard this song . She was the love of my life . She had anxiety problems and when I would sleep next to her she would relax. She was full of unconditional love. Lived in pain everyday of her life. She was just a little girl about 3 to 5 year old mentally when she passed away on 8 9 2019
I can't deny it that I have NEVER been a fan of Aerosmith, BUT, I can listen to this song a million times and still not be tired of it. One powerful song dedicated to love. Girl you were "FEELING" that song. Love your reaction.
THIS SONG IS FROM THE FILM ARMAGEDDON. IT STARRED Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and Liv Tyler. (Steven Tyler's from Aerosmiths daughter.). Liv Tyler was crying at the end of the film was because her father Bruce Willis in the movie, sacrificed his life and flew his spacecraft in to the path of the meteor which was on the path to earth. Also Ben Affleck knew that Bruce Willis was going to die that's why he was crying. Very good film.
This was my brother's favorite song. He even had the band play it at his wedding. He past away in 2004 at only 42 of a heart attack. I still miss him every day. This song really hits me. Reminds me of happy memories. Love it! ❤️🙏😇
His daughter is so lovely and looks so good with Ben. I believe Bruce played her Dad. It was a suicide mission to destroy a meteor coming to Earth. It was so beautiful. Such brave people really do exist. Thank God. And Tyler, sang extra well, IMHO, knowing it was a project with his beautiful daughter. He must be so proud of her.
I love how you feel the 🎶 it is so important for me to see the appreciation of music as I feel the music. This is how I feel about my wife, we been together for over 27 years. She is my world.
''why is she crying? why is everybody crying?'' watch the movie and you'll understand why. :( I remember watching Armageddon and God I felt like a baby. Plus, theres Aerosmith, one of my all time favorite bands.
The song was nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar in 1998. It was beaten by “When You Believe” from “The Prince Of Egypt” sung by Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey. React to that one.
KSO you and I reached for tissues at the same time while I watched this video! I have seen this video so many times and I still react the same way! It is a moving song and near the end of the video Liv Tyler's character is crying because she is seeing her dad for the last time played by Bruce Willis.
This song and this movie moves me more recently after losing my father at the start of the year. I didn’t tell him how much I loved him etc etc etc. Recently watched this movie and everything she said to her father in the movie are the exact things I wish I said to my dad. Great movie that my dad and me grew up and watched together.
I feel like he's singing about his daughter I mean how many parents haven't sat watching there beautiful child sleep and thinking I don't wanna miss a thing I know I would lay next to one of my beautiful new born baby girls and just watch her listening to her breath I didn't want to miss one moment of her life!!!
I really enjoy your reviews.. your a kind hearted person who carry's your heart on your sleeve and literally falls into the depth of the words of these songs.. so touching.. There is a song by the band Duran Duran called "ordinary world" this another song with that realm of depth..
When I first watched watched the official music video for this song I cried because I knew the song but never knew who sang it and I also heard I on the radio .
Thanks. Remember this movie armageddon with Bruce Willis. The lady who wrote this song is a legend wrote several hundred songs. My favourite being up where we belong. Joe cocker and and Jennifer warnes from an officer and a gentleman
A band from the 80’s, who was very good at finding new sounds is “Mike Oldfield”. They had a singer with a very perfect sound, her name is Maggie Reilly, everything combined perfectly. Try to listen to the song “Five Miles Out”. If you do, you will know what I mean.
Yours is the best reaction.... Steven Tyler screams are heart shaking. Don’t turn your headphones down. Her father, Bruce Willis, sacrificed himself so his daughters boyfriend makes it home safely. Stevens screams are the screams of her father. His performance, the passion and the drama... is a fathers love for his daughter. In the movie and the video! The music is recorded to be loud. I have been to many Aerosmith concerts, front row. The music is created to be experienced loud. Usually lose hearing for a day or two after the concert. There is no better rock performer than Steven Tyler.
Steve Tyler missed Liv's childhood because she was brought up by Todd Rundgren, who was having a relationship with a Playboy model that had also been having an affair with Steve Tyler. Turns out that when she got older, it became obvious that she was Steve's daughter, and the model told both Todd and Steve that Liv was in fact Steve's daughter. Todd happily kept bringing Liv up but when she got older she changed her name to Liv Rundgren-Tyler. I think perhaps he sang the song about not missing a thing, because he missed so much already.
Got me over here about to watch Armageddon at 4:30 in the morning. You really have to see the movie if you haven't seen it already. It gives the song so much more meaning. And you will love this song, just that much more. It's a dope movie and an even doper song. They couldn't have put this song to a better movie and it work like it did in Armageddon
This is such a big fat sappy ballad, but it is exactly the right way to do a big fat sappy ballad. It's beautiful to the ears. I'm glad Aerosmith did it and not Celine Dion.
Funny thing about this song and at least the appearance of singing to his daughter is that up until 7th or 8th grade (cant remember exactly, several classes behind mine) she was Liv Rundgren, like Todd Rundgren, so Steven missed the first 12 or 13 years of her life. Touching song and they seem to have a good relationship after the confirmation, but its sadly amusing too.
@@metheus108 Steve didn't miss out he just wasn't there Todd raised her feed clothed payed for her private education he was what a father should be as for her mother Bebe Buell she told Todd he was the father lets be nice and just say she sleep with several rock stars over four decades and was married at one stage to Pauley Perrett's ex Coyote Shivers in the 90's Todd was the good guy Steve was not, just saying
I'm sure it was weird having your dad singing an intimacy song in the film where your the only girl. It's probably the answer to your question " Why is she crying?".. Still, he saved Colombia from bankruptcy....
Hi sweety !!!! The reason for everybody crying was bruce willis who stayed behind to detonate the bomb. Tyler's daughter marries ben affleck, making bruce willis ' son-in-law.
Yes but he didn't raise her or pay for her private education Todd Rundgren did and Todd put his name on her birth certificate because as he said every child should have a father and Steven Tyler had nothing do with her till later in her life.just saying
Aerosmith had Broken Up Before This Movie. Steven Tyler Had Done Some Serious Rehab, for His Drug Habit. He and Lead Guitarist Joe Perry Used To Fight So Much, They Become Known As "The Acid Twins". They Reformed For Liv Tyler, She Wanted Her Dad To Perform. When He Saw The Footage Her Crying, He Said "Of Course I Will Honey!" They're Back Together and Doing Great!
Watch the GREAT movie, Armageddon and you'll understand this video! Steven Tyler is the singer and the girl in the movie is his daughter, Liv Tyler! One of the best movies ever ... imho!!!!! Great song for this movie too!!!!!!!
When this movie came out, my coworkers and I joked how you could tell the asteroid was the 'bad guy' because it looked evil, was all spikey and stuff, lol. Although this song is pretty good, I like earlier Aerosmith better, Songs like 'Walk This Way' and my favorite from them, 'Sweet Emotion'. The movie is ok as a two hour time waster. Just don't expect anything Oscar worthy from it. Other than the special effects, maybe.
