Sweet Emotion was featured in the following movies: Armageddon Cheeseburger Dazed and Confused Private Parts Starsky & Hutch Hit and Run We're the Millers
mike cantone absolutely And the Draw the line album too! The b side - with Kings and queens, Hand that feeds and the incredible heavy funk Sight for so eyes - is so powerful !
Dude, it’s not mysterious at all. You’re almost 40 and been exposed to soooo very much music in your life. I’m almost 60 and my head is filled with music from ....100 years ago. It’s all around us, every day, even if we don’t choose it. However, it’s so much fun seeing your reactions. You have Star charisma, and almost childlike wonderment. JUST what I needed in these trying times. Lol, I wish you were my son’s BFF and we could all sit back, tune in and chill together. 💖
This song was in the movie Armageddon, during the training sequence. A side note the girl who played Bruce Willis’ daughter is Liv Tyler, Steven Tyler’s ( lead singer ) daughter.
The version of walk this way that Aerosmith did with Run DMC was awesome. But it wasn't a collab in the sense that some people seem to think. Run DMC had nothing to do with writing the song (even though you will still here people to this day making that claim). The song was published on Aerosmith's 'Toys in the Attic' album in 1975, when the members of Run DMC were only 10 and 11 years old.
Jamal, you are obviously a person who should have been a kid and teenager in the 60s and 70s and 80s. You know it and I know it, and so does everyone else who watches your classic rock reactions!
@@timmypyron2830 Yeah, but it's different than having lived through all of the 60s, 70s and 80s when the greatest music came down the pipeline. He caught the tailend of it all but is getting his jollies now and catching up on what came before. ;)
FYI-Aerosmith is being honored at the Grammys this year as the “MusiCares Person of the Year” for their philanthropic work over 5 decades. They’re going to be performing a medley of their greatest hits. It’s at the Staples Center in LA on Sunday, January 26th.
Ya made me go and watch the "vintage" Carl's Jr. ad with the girl on the mechanical bull...over and over again! Slow Ride was and IS such an iconic '70's jam.
Mark Still nice. In my opinion the best movie soundtrack ever for an equally great movie. Hell, the soundtrack was so good and so successful they put out a second soundtrack album “Even more Dazed and Confused” and that was just as good as the first.
The intro involves a guitar “Talk Box”, where your voice becomes guitar-ified. In this intro, you can hear the words “Sweet Emotion” said slowly. You may recall other songs which involve a talk box, like Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On a Prayer” or Peter Frampton’s “Show Me The Way”, and maybe “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO.
Big ten inch... record 😂 they had some great fun songs! They weren’t afraid to throw in some jazzy sounds ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this is a fun swing dancing 💃 song 😁
OMG This guys are Amazing! I have seen so many of these bands live! Aerosmith I have seen several times! The first time was in Sf at the Cow Palace Jan 24 1986!
May I recommend my personal favorites??? Last Child Back in The Saddle Sick As A Dog Jaded Mama Kin Eat The Rich Dude Looks Like A Lady Love In An Elevator So many more!!!! I’ve been rocking with Aerosmith since 1975! ✌🏼♥️🎼
The whole "rocks" album. During a period of heavy drug use but that album is the dirtiest crunchy rock from that era. Most certainly an influence on the grunge that was to come.
I love watching your reaction videos. After hearing this song for 45 years on the radio I've gone deaf to its greatness. But watching you react to it, its like I'm listening to it for the first time in ages. I haven't picked up my bass in a couple of weeks and now I have a new challenge in learning this riff and renewed interest in playing again. Thanks!
Man, this is the first time I've ever commented. Been watching and enjoying the videos and music (and your reactions, of course 😄) for a year or so. I've just recently realized there's a lack of Aerosmith....and I'm talking about their good era (mainly the 70s...'73-'78 to be precise). By then the drugs were too big of an issue. Negatively affecting many aspects of the band, and certainly not sustainable. Anyway, this is getting too long, and I'll be surprised if you actually read it, but if you do, keep up the good work!! I love it. I've heard and loved these songs for so long, its impossible to know how'd they'd sound to me now, if it were the first time. So it's fascinating to witness that experience taking place.
"...along with the awesome back-to-back live versions of 'Same Old Song & Dance', 'Draw The Line' and 'Chip Away The Stone' from 1978's California Jam 2. Aerosmith never sounded better"
Way back when, I went to the High School Junior Prom with my girlfriend down in Massachusetts. Aerosmith was the band, back before they were monsterously famous. To say it was a hell of a prom is an understatement! Many years later, I became friends with their tour manager, and he cracked up when I told him about that prom!
The song was made into a video in the early 90s for Aerosmith's Pandora's Box box set. It originally was released on the Toys in the Attic album in 1975
First Concert I ever went to in 1977. Exile was the warmup act, back when Kiss you all over was big. Not too long after they went Country. The contact high in that place was unreal.
In 1976 I saw a three band show - Angel Rush and Aerosmith. It was the Toys in the Attic tour. One of the most amazing shows I have seen in my 45 years of concert going. They were the shit!
Between 1997 and 2003 I ran into each of the band members on the south shore of Massachusetts. They are all class act's, they just act like every day people
Suggest: Led Zeppelin - The Lemon Song. I know you've done other Zeppelin songs but I don't believe you've done Lemon Song. I can't tell you great it is.
My get up & go musta got up & went! Love that line! Also nobody’s gonna recommend “my big 10 inch?” Well I will then. Ahem: please react to My Big 10 inch.
Deep song would be Janies got a Gun and my favorite would be Angel but when you have like 4 decades of music to pick from them it’s hard to really hard not to appreciate all of it
Lol those songs suck. Real aerosmith was the 70s. When they were in their alicia Silverstone period they lost their dignity. I'd rather listen to done with mirrors. Good album
There is so much awesome music out there ! It took me a life time to hear some of it , so you wont be running out of it ! That's a good thing ! U tube will be dead before you can hear the music of the bands that have been in America England and Europe 🇺🇸😍
There are multiple great songs from Aerosmith Aerosmith is the American Rolling Stones They’ve been called that many times and for good reason they had two parts to their career the first half which was through the 70s and the second half that came back sometime in the 80s and progressed through the 90s and the current day it’s arguably better the second time around but I love the original stuff it’s just incredible they are truly one of the greatest American treasures. You have to listen to songs like kings and queens draw the line. Last child, And back in the saddle. All incredible priceless songs I can’t express how good they are. Of course the second half of their career was incredible (love in an elevator Janie’s got a gun and so on.
I had the entire Areosmith Catalog at one point, all the way to Pump. When they hit the scene in the 70s, there was no other sound like it, and none other since. Glad to see you discovering what I grew up on :)
Toys in the Attic. One of the Greatest albums ever sold. Just one great song after another. Both side was full of hit songs. When I had it. It was on eight-Track. I have the CD now. One of my favorite albums of all time.
I've always believed that this song came about from a sound check, whether it was done in the studio or on stage. Never the less, on the final mix, it makes one bad ass tune. One bonafide rocker.
They did a number of songs for that one. Their only #1 hit happened to be the cover of “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing”. I suspect this is because they were able to hold multiple top 10 slots. Great band! “Honkin’ on BoBo” was an interesting deviation.
@@Falcon0311 I think they did that song because his daughter was starring in the movie. It was written by the amazing Diane Warren. Steve does a great job on it.
My band.......Ever since I bought age 18 their second album 1974 "GET YOUR WINGS" AEROSMITH still ROCKIN boys and girls. Tyler can still sing DREAM ON like when he was a kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAT THAT!
IIRC, there was basically an olde medieval (?) wive's recipe involving rabbit urine (?) in makeshift a pregnancy test. Turns out the chemistry was later found to be scientifically sound.
I remember seeing these headline Download Festival in 2010...Perry ran to the drums & lay on his back on the kick drum whilst Joey drummed his sticks on the guitar and together bashed out a solo...never forget it! Rock N Roll 🤟
I grew up in a very eclectic neighborhood and we had black kids, white kids and Jewish kids we all smoked weed and listened to these albums together. Love you James Jackson and David balsom forever. Dude you should have been there in the day it was magical. Everyone should just enjoy the gift of music together
Ya know, Aerosmith were (are) great rockers but they also always......and I remember this even back in the 1970's when I was first listening to them....always had that little bit of funk/R&B thing going on with them too, and Steve Tyler always had an almost scat/rap style to his vocal delivery. Whether it was this song, or "Last Child" or "Walk This Way" or even "Train Kept A Rollin'" or "Rag Doll," there was always that funky rhythm soul thing to their songs that I loved. So it was no surprise to me when they hooked up with Run-DMC in the mid-80's, that always seemed like a natural fit to me.
