This helped me out with my 38/720 🤙 Flying my Warlock on an I327 this weekend. You da man! Earned a sub

Awesome video. Made me realize that I needed a 54mm delay drilling tool. Lol

A lot of folks also grease the outside of the phenolic liner for easier cleaning of the inside of the motor case hardware.

Came back to this video :D. Just bought myself another 54/1706 after selling mine years ago (needed the money and was taking a break from HPR). Building a LOC 7.6" Patriot and after thinking and daydreaming about it and convincing myself and the wife... a K1103 is the perfect motor for that rocket :D. I'm not really interested in the K456 but the K1103 would be similar in assembly.
@almostspace123
@almostspace123 Год назад
Yes! Assembly will be identical, and the K1103x is amazing!

Thanks for the RMS reload vids. I built a 38/720 (First time) last weekend and forgot a few steps. I see where I went wrong. Thankfully rocket and RMS is fine and I can use again. Only problem is the Phenolic liner is stuck inside casing. Soaking as I type.
@almostspace123
@almostspace123 Год назад
Excellent and glad to hear! Ya sometimes if the liner is snug during assembly, a VERY light coat of the grease on the outside of the liner makes for a clean disassembly post flight. Unlikely, but soaking could cause it to swell a little bit also. But report back!

Good video, but there is one thing that kinda bothers me... You have the nozzle on the Wrong End! LOL. The Aerotech logo should be on the left side (nozzle end) of the motor. This is a unwritten rule. Kinda like how how you want the PML logo pointed up in PML tubing. Just bad luck if you don't do that :P (I know, it really doesn't matter which end)

Hahhaa!! Funny how we conform to our case directions. (btw my way goes higher :D)

@@almostspace123 Who care if it goes higher if it causes bad luck and the rocket lands the tallest tree on the field :P🤣

"O" rings are very critical, look what happened to Challenger. The lubricant in the kit is a Teflon based lubricant. Radio Shack in the past carried this product in a large tube. Even an antenna company packed the same lube to use as an anti seize for assembly of antennas as well as in select connectors used in large antenna lines known in the industry as Heliax. Approxamately how many seconds burn time does this motor have? BTW you might want to increase your recording audio gain or reposition your mike, audio was a bit low. Thanks for sharing this information!
@almostspace123
@almostspace123 Год назад
Thank you! Ya different types of propellant mixes will allow for different burn and thrust numbers, this one was around a 3.5sec burn if i remember correctly

For the 38mm RMS, it comes with a red cap to hold the igniter in. Is that pink cap used for the same purpose? Do you need to cut a vent hole in it?
@almostspace123
@almostspace123 4 месяца назад
Yes! Same concept, and definitely venting of the cap is standard process
@greenlex518
@greenlex518 4 месяца назад
@@almostspace123thanks for the info. For some reason, my reload kit came with two identical caps and no paper disk to cover the ejection charge. The extra cap doesn't fit over my floating forward closure so maybe it was designed to fit over the standard forward closure
@almostspace123
@almostspace123 4 месяца назад
@@greenlex518 Yes, for the floating forward closure, your best bet is to use masking tape, i typically make a masking tap 'X', then a wrap around the sides

I'm using the K2050ST-P reloadable motor system and a plugged closure. Do I still need the delay charge in the system? If not, do we add anything to cover the space in the closure?
