Aesop Rock is one of the rare rappers who just gets better and better. Most of them get worse but he's an altogether different artist.

The things that Aesop and company cultivates are amazing. How often is it that you scroll through comments and find only love? Aesop is the dopest hip-hop artist, he makes magic through art and honestly I feel like we are all lucky to experience a positive powerhouse like him. You can really tell he is a true artist. What an interesting time for this to come up. For me, the theme of isolation runs incredibly heavy through this song. That drumming you all do in the wheel when you're wondering what's next in life, or what you're supposed to do. The lost feeling when you're trying to communicate and just coming back with static. Back when I heard his first album, Float, (pre-google days) I remember imagining what this dude must look like, does he live under a mushroom? Can he shapeshift into a lizard form? That was when mystique was still possible, and Aesop oozed it. I love these types of visuals because it delivers a little on that premise, I don’t necessarily need to see the artist in a diner parking lot rapping into a fish-eye lense. Love the song! Dope beat.

Aes makes me appreciate the age we live in where if I hear a new word, I have a computer in my pocket that can instantly give me the definition. Incidentally, I was roommates with a very talented journalist for a couple years and one fun pastime we had was when I'd ask him to define a word, then I would ask siri to define it, and she would always say the exact same thing. It always amazed me. I beat him at Scrabble once. I have no idea how. Luck I suppose.
