I think Winter has a lighter, whispy sound while Ningning has a deeper timbre and I’m assuming broader range with a better belt. SM did well organizing and balancing this group.

They both have different tones.. Winter have that classic SM Korean OST voice.. While Ning2 have SES Bada tone.. Really resembles her.. But her love on top cover shows she much more than that..her range is wide..

Winter definitely has bit brighter and higher timbre than Ningning. She has classic SM vocal tone. And I can already see Ningning as power belter. Though she has to prove more as the main vocalist. As you known being main vocalist of SM group has lots of weight to it. Giselle and Karina has bit deep and husky tone and sometimes raspy. They have good contrasts of vocal tone.

Ningning truly is the main vocal. Her being part of the SM Rookie program made her more confident in performing even when she's nervous. Even when half-assing a song, she's still doing it so well.

I heard Winter didn't audition thooo. She was CASTED in a DANCE festival. Meaning she's so good sm talent scouts noticed her and saw her potential. And ig Winter's main talent was dance since she got casted in a dance festival but omg look at her vocals

Ningning's vocals are no joke and deserves to be talked about more, her vocals are crazy flexible, I was thinking what would be her signature sound as smgg's new main vocal; and with all the songs she has sang thus far it is safe to say that her signature might be her ability to adapt her tone and vocal color to the song she is singing. Ningning knows her strengths and is a very intuitive and smart singer too, and has the mixed vocal technique down pat. I wish I could explain this better but sm should really wise up and showcase this talented girl every chance they get.

She has that power.. I could agree that Winter have more control over her vocals..as for Ning2 she really have a stronger vocal tone despite of less vocal control as compared to Winter.. They both have great vocals.. Just like how Wendy and Seulgi, Taeyeon and Jessica.. Seohyun and Tiffany..

I came here after arguing with someone who can’t accept majority opinion that aespa is better vocal than itzy (in video aespa vs itzy) saying karina vocal is below average and ningning has major pitch control problem 🙃 she also says this live is auto tuned. I will definitely comeback to fight her after aespa has more activities.

in my humble opinion: Winter could be the next Punch or Gummy. I mean, she sang so well, her voice is soothing my ears, and with that kind of voice I bet she's going to sing some Kdrama OST in the future. Queen of OST, Winter. Giselle is so good at doing some covers but I do bet she'll rock more when she has her own solo, she's pretty confident and her vocal is precise. Karina has a great voice, I think she's great at doing musicals. It would suit her best though I find her voice good in almost everything. Ningning at a young age is quite impressive. I do think she'll be Ailee, Boa, Taeyeon, Luna, and Wendy's successor. Her voice range is unfathomable and at her age, I do think she'll be able to do more astounding vocal experiments. Her voice might also be catchy to the west since it's so powerful. If this group comes with better promotion, I do think they'll be one of the most notable girl groups in the future
