For me, aespa's weakness comes from their energy incosistencies and "unsynkness". The moves when focused on seem very individualistic. Each member is doing it differently, with each having different positioning, energy, and posture. You can't see that in the demo versions. While individuality is not necessarily a bad thing, it's bad when each member is different everywhere. For instance, Karina has good power in her moves, especially so with the most energy-intensive ones. But in slow parts, she falls off a bit. She looks uninteresting. To mitigate this, she could use some more tension, but most often than not she stays in her energy level. She uses that energy well but it's sometimes inappropriate. Her body language and her facial expressions are good but they could be better if she extends a bit more. For Ningning, she is definitely focused and uses some level of head movement and facial expression. What she lacks is precision. She sometimes is late or sometimes inaccurate in her moves. Winter is accurate with most of her moves but she lacks a bunch of energy. While there are good body lines, she fails when she does not extend enough. Her energy issues, facial expressions, head movement, and body language all coalesce into this feel of dancing with individual precision with no definition. Lastly, Giselle. Giselle is remarkable in certain moves but like Winter, she lacks energy and general presence. She's fluid, and seldomly not. In dancing, you need to switch between energy types based on the music and its lyrics. She employs her moves in a consistent way, but that way does not necessarily fit a lot of the time.
@@nabi_core yeah well not every decision they make is a good one. i am genuinely not saying this to spread hate, but at the moment they're not good enough dancers to be focusing on individuality like that. their 'girls' and 'illusion' stages genuinely looked so strange and off
This might sounds offensive, but dang the drafts are so powerful. I know aespa is talented, but seeing this comparison, I can't help but compare the energy from both of the videos, and aespa lack the energy and the 'fight' vibes of the song. Well yeah, the dancers will be always have more power and the idols will adjust the choreo to their song, and subtle down the moves. I still wait for the day they perform with better energy and expression. I want them to enjoy the stage more, and I hope that the girls are healthy and well.
Its for the sake of live performance. So that if ever they need to perform live they don’t necessarily need to pause just to sing. Also idols focus on giving faces as well. It needs to look cinematic like
i can see why you're offended since the girls don't give out that much energy but it's for the particular reasons as the person above mentioned and also because you're comparing the demo and aespa dancing to different clothing. one cannot give out much energy that you want them to radiate because look at the difference in the clothing, one has comfortable and the other has accessories and clothings that could tear off or are heavy for them to dance well. They could be overworked too, it's not the same when you're an idol and a dancer. The professional dancers don't even sing but have to give their best for the dance steps they make for the girls. Anyways have a good day/night
@@yukisicetea3533 for the clothing I just saw red velvet live (live rookie, or crazy costume zimzalabim) perfomance I just think aespa can put more little energy if the want to secure the costume. I get that they are maybe tired, or maybe not motivated but it's their job. So yeah that's just my opinion
@@blallalaksksks6885 yeah but aespa rarely sing live and they're not exactly known for their facial expressions either so what exactly are they focusing on? their live stages are so disappointing even without comparing it to the demos. other kpop groups often aren't as powerful as their demos either, but at least they do justice to the dance in their own way. this dance was a little weird to begin with but aespa make it look extra underwhelming and awkward. i love aespa, they're one of the only kpop groups i still take an interest in, but they seriously need dance training and i have no idea why they're not getting it since all of sm's male idols are clearly trained properly. the problem with their gg dance training was honestly evident starting from RV but at least they had the energy to make up for it, and members like Wendy improved a lot over the years
I’ve always thought the choreography at the chorus (the highlight) is a bit awkward and bland. But when I watched the demo version…damn that’s actually good and fit the song well. I wished aespa did it with more energy like the dancers 😭
No its actually all about the angle if you watch the demo far and no movement it would probably look awkward aswell because when aespa's doing the choreo with the camera angle and movement it doesnt look bad or awkward.
They also put their lifted knees in front of their bodies, in a 45 degree angle, making them look like they are about to pee themselves. In the original, the knees were just lifted right before the hip, and that looks way better.
True. The dancers did it with soo much charisma and so much HIP. I was about to say "but they need to sing too" but realized the video they were in was lip syncing
What I find amazing is that Rie's choreo fluidity is unmatched but when Aespa executes it, the vibe is so different since it's sharper and less groovy.
Since this song came out I’ve been thinking this was some of the worst choreography I’ve seen in a while but thanks to this video I now realize the choreography itself is actually good it’s just the execution that makes it lose all its power and uniqueness. Sorry choreographers!
It's not the even girls it's the concept, only winter fits that and she is still out of her element here. And honestly the choreo is not great either way, sorry that chorus repetition was lame and the break is very anticlimactic
I think it has to do with their costume and the concept of their visuals. Look at aespa's costume in studio choom, it is not designed for intense execution like the choreographer. Their costume speaks of elegance and 'stay pretty' aura. So yeah
Thats What i was thinking too. Winter and Karina are pretty accurate with the moves but Ning just brings a certain swag and looseness along with sexiness, I’m absolutely obsessed with her
karina's been my bias since i discovered aespa but this comeback i just cannot take my eyes off ningning!! she's also always wearing much higher platform shoes than the other members so i think it's so impressive how she has the best energy, she deserves soooo much more attention!!!
I understand that idols have to adjust choreo in order to sing comfortably and perform with less energy in some hard singing moments, but the difference in energy between drafts and aespa version is tremendous... One of the reasons why energy is lacking is, maybe, uncomfortable and tight outfits - girls couldn't move freely in them. Anyways, they could have given us more. The song is still a bop tho
no hating but they dont sing live most of the time. And the person should use dance practice video of aespa instead of a video perfomance, where they always have uncomfortable clothes, speacially ningning boots.
for a group who doesnt even sing live that much, you would expect more energy in their dance. aespa almost did no justice to the original choreo :(( it's like ningning is the only one who actually tries.
ningning legit only moves her hair around, i think all 3 (ningning winter & karina) did a bit justice to the dance, gisele still needs more work she keeps falling behind especially when she forgets the moves
I would 10000% give them a pass if they singed live. The fact that they never sing live, not even encores, and then go ahead and lack any energy and refuse to move their faces in any expression makes me angry, tbh.
People in the comments are saying aespa dance with less power due to having to focus on other aspects but what exactly? They haven't sung live on a korean show since debut
most choreographies are toned down in order to allow idols to sing / make a believable lip sync. i personally don't mind them dancing with less power, as they've never marketed themselves as a dance group. they are more of a vocal group and while they haven't sung live on a korean show (yet), i don't mind their lip sync. ningning and winter are having high notes battles in every song, and having to perform those same high notes every other day for a period of 2 weeks or more could be very damaging for their vocal cords. sm is kinda known for doing this
@@aeri412 yeah sure a lot of choreographies are toned down in their final versions, but the majority of kpop idols still deliver ten times more energy than this. and if they’re lip-synching, that usually allows them to put more into the dance. in this video, they’re not even supposed to be singing or believably lip-synching, it’s *just* about the dance and performance, but they have the same low energy levels. the choreographers dancing shows just how much better the whole thing would look if they put more into it. i mean look at ITZY, they’re only 5 members but their choreographies are difficult and fun to watch, and their stage presence is through the roof. they even have sang live a bunch of times despite the difficult choreos and they pull it off. aespa could sing most of the song live but then have backtrack for the more vocally straining parts, it wouldn’t be that hard and it’s done in kpop all the time. sure they’re not a “dance group”, but part of kpop’s entire thing is dancing and amazing performances. they knew what they were singing up for becoming trainees. there’s really no excuse for them to have *this* little stage presence and energy. i’m honestly surprised SM debuted them and didn’t train them for a couple more years.
Yeah this really just shows how much work they need to put into their dancing and stage presence. It looks like the choreo has been greatly simplified from the OG., and they’re putting in 20% of the required energy.
@@morsree4926 THISS, literally other members are wearing flats + lighter shoes but she somehow is able to give the most energy. maybe aespa were tired in this performance? idk i just can’t wait for them to get better :DD
I will start this comment by saying I like aespa. I think girls are lovely and talented. However, I feel like SM is demanding too much from them dance-wise. None of these girls are skilled enough in dancing to pull off such choreography. Or they didn't have enough time to practice for some reason, because this choreography clearly relies on precision and sharp movement and girls lack it. They lack the energy and confidence and it shows. The "they focus on singing" won't work here because they don't even sing live. The "the outfits limit them" is also far-fetched because they lack energy in every performance and you won't convince me all of their outfits are limiting their movements. This choreography is for professional dancers or idol groups with actual professional dancers, it's not for singers.
I thought it was a pretty interesting move on SM’s part to give them a dance break when they’re already criticized plenty when singing and dancing. Maybe they thought it’d be their chance to prove haters wrong? Either way it doesn’t seem to have worked and now they’re getting hated on even more :(
right, so isn't this the same group who did black mamba pretty damn well? i'm no professional, i do have experience dancing self-taught and in a studio and all i've got to say is that putting more energy into a move is not a professional dancer thing; that's just part of conveying energy, which is a rather basic part of dancing karina honestly seems like she has a bit of finesse that could have been really cool to see, giselle really needs to focus up on precision and energy, she seems out of place with a rather light, twice-y expressions-first dancing that doesn't compliment the song (i really wonder what she'd do in a cutesy concept)
@@Neo-qt1lc The difference between Black Mamba and Girls is noticeable... like the comment said, maybe its a lack of practice, because we can see a lack of precision and coordination between the members in many parts. It's understandable since BM was their debut song and they would have practiced it a lot. The issue is that being idols they will have to get used to learning many new choreography in a very short time. And it would be good that if they still don't know the choreography completely, they show a little more individual charisma, this time it was a very timid dance. I have faith in them.
Quite accurate..i kinda think sm sometime are just too demanding with them.. considering that they have this one particular inexperience@weak dancer.. somewhat, the lineups couldve been better with the former trainee as the main dancer and karina or maybe winter could be a lead dancer..ning ning doing just fine ..but, without giselle, they gonna have lackluster in their rap..i wish Giselle position could be someone who can do both.. especially that they lack the performance/stage presence aspect
I feel like they should have the same level energy (hopefully Ningning's) as they only have 4 members. Idk, I feel like when I watch them I feel the lack of energy as a whole 😔 I mean the song has many highlights, especially Giselle's headbangers part, that I feel should've portrayed with more energy. I understand Winter's personality is more like a quiet type but I feel like she should have more energy than just doung lock dance. For a 4 member group, I think they can permit just one lacking energy but with 2... the group looks dull in performance without camera effects 😔😔😔 Please please I hope you improve, I'm a fan since day 1 but it frustrates me to see such performances ☹️
Winter is the one with least energy and it frustrates me very much sometimes while Giselle may lack it sometimes but usually her attitude on stage makes up for it for me. I must say in terms of expressions both are best in group. Karina is best at controlling expressions, energy and dance moves but few times it looks boring. Ningning is best energywise that's why people notice her first but i feel she lacks in expression department. Her face always looks like she is too concentrated on performing rather enjoying like Giselle or Winter
@@vaanshichauhan9868 yeah I agree with Ningning's expression, like she's really focused. Also yes Giselle's expressions looks a good during her parts. I think though Winter should have more expressions, I feel like she thinks that having a straight face as their songs are girl crush is good but I think she should move her brows or maybe mouth a bit more to show what she's singing. Overall I think they should enjoy the stage, I think they're pressured by the popularity and antis they have and so I hope SM can train them to enjoy the stage, be more free in their dance and freestyle movements during rap etc. The girls can do it, they're very very talented!
i think winter is very focused and good but her style of dancing is just more stoic like her. Shes sharp it's just a stylistic choice. I don't think all idols should have intense facial reactions, i like watching winter because i can feel her intensity without doing too much like a lot of idols wink everyone 3 seconds. My fav is ningning and winter because they're different.
they really just look amazing AS A WHOLE when they're singing live. like they give more energy when they're really singing and that's been like their one problem ever since. they don't like lip syncing and that makes the girlies energy down but I wish the girls understands that even if they're lip syncing or not singing at all like this studio choom thing they should still give their best huhu especially when they got a lot of haters when it comes to stage presence or dancing... i understand that they want to sing live cuz that's what they do but in this case where they have to dance without singing at all, just dancing, I want them to still be happy or enthusiastic abt it :(
@@rembeadelgado5356 I see what you mean ! They do lip sync most of the time which I don’t mind butttt I’d rather see more pop in them! I think out of everyone nignning does the best in performing. So I understand what you mean ! I know winter is a very sharp dancer but doesn’t have much Expresjson which I like. Well for now I’m enjoying them as a whole and of course they can dance more while lip syncing as well !
Karina did well on her parts, Winter "Hold Up" part would be much better if she did same the way the choreographer executes it with more energy and fierce moves.
I don't want to blaspheme, but their stage performances and movements become very relaxed and powerless after the next level comes out. It's a shame that such a good choreo becomes so meaningless when they dance it, they need a lot of power for the choreo but they seem to only move their bodies. or because it's the choreo that doesn't suit them, it's a shame even though I was looking forward to something bigger when black mamba came out. sorry if these words offend the fans but i just want to speak up and want them to be better in the future, i know they have worked very hard but i think they need more hard work 🤝
I'm a dancer in college and also have been in competitions so pls don't think this as hate but more of a teaching moment. As a four-member group the attention is going to be on each of them, so they need to fill the stage with presence. Presence is basically a job to make sure that the audience gets the whole vibe of the song and how you are going to portray it. I heard from a fan of aespa that the girls said they want to focus on their own energy or style of preforming which is not a good idea. As a group, they have to be on the same level and to make sure they are in sync. which in this case they look a bit messy and, in my opinion, it's hard to see what they are trying to do because to the lack of energy or power. Facials play a huge part in performing especially when you are the center. Almost all of them don't have facials. People say Ning Ning does the most facials, but she still doesn't to me. It looks like she is having a staring contest with that camera same thing with Winter. I personally think Giselle has the most facials, but she still lacks dancing skill which is totally fine there is plenty of room to grow as a dancer. For Karina, she looks like she knows what to do, but she limits herself, same thing with winter they both have potential to have so much presence on stage, but they chose to focus on the camera instead of the audience. Even though it's an online performance at least pretend there is people Infront of you. Also, even though they both are experienced in dancing the other two (Ning Ning and Giselle) have the most presence to me especially at Coachella. thanks for reading my point of view:)
Thank you for this... Winter and Karina have the best dancing but ningselle are the best in facial expressions even tho giselle expressions sometimes could off concept but it's better than just staring at the camera with blank face
Tbh I don't really think Aespa's dance is really bad, just that they're more focused on that "elegant" and "looking pretty" part, which might not work for this song and didn't capture the original choreo perfectly.
Honestly I'm not a fan of the execution by aespa. It's not only lack of energy but synchronization is not on point and they miss the vibe the music represents. Facial expressions are not aligning with the concept. Overall the performance is weak and a bit chaotic. But that's just how I see it.
The choreography is actually great when put together. The problem is how Aespa dance to the choreography with the lack of power and energy which makes it less appealing. I was drawn to the choreographers more than Aespa which is sad. It's understandable though since they're also singing that's why they can't give it their all. Ningning for me is somehow the closest one on nailing the choreo.
agree, esp on Hold Up part by Winter, the dancer did it much better w/ swag & energy. I think only Lisa among female idols can give justice to a choreo the way the choreographer do it, no wonder she is really on top among all. Karina though did well on her part esp in their MV.
@@sumysim3245 so true 💯 i think ten and taeyong from nct can dance like choreographers. naturally, kahi from after school too as she used to be backup dancer. hyoyeon from girls' generation too.
@@dazzlingmichael6855 agreed. I'm not a fan of blackpink, but i have to admit lisa is definitely one of the few idols i know who can dance with the same precision as the professional dancers. i think it's because she is a natural born dancer. even with itzy whom we all know are great in dancing, their moves seem lousy when compared to professional dancers. and yes, karina did really well. she didn't dance the exact same way with the choreographers, but she was the closest.
i think that itzy (without lia) could pull this off really well - aespa has great vocals, sm should let them sing live and excel in what they're actually good
Aespa is one of my bias groups but it's not just energy that's lacking . . . you just have to be a really good dancer to pull off this dance lol. I'm no JYP Stan but ITZY and Nmixx's dance line would have probably done this justice.
Aespa really should still be using back dancers for live stages. When it's just the 4 of them, the differences in their style and skill are so in your face that you can't help but notice how out of sync they are. While the idea of them "controlling" the camera is interesting as a concept, it feels like it is being used as more and more of a crutch... it also probably makes it more difficult for them to focus as well. The members also seem to have more confidence when it isn't just them up there. In the meantime, if I had to see them improve in one area, it would be the lack of tension in their moves and propensity to go straight from finished pose to finished pose without quite dancing. It's closer to cheerleading and hitting a specific move on an 8 count without the connective tissues to make it seem like one fluid dance. A lot of groups have trouble in this area, but unfortunately for Aespa, having fewer members makes it more noticeable. Ditto for the tension and dynamics.... with the moves and key choreography always being relatively simple, it makes it even more important to do it well. I notice it the most in Savage and Girls just due to the sonic nature of the songs... they are constantly building tension musically that just isn't being reflected in the execution of the choreo like it is in the demo. There's also quite a bit of footwork, and that's an area that even the best K-Pop dance lines and most synchronized groups can have a lot of trouble with. They need choreography that plays to their personal strengths at the moment more so than trying to replicate a good looking demo but missing the mark. Hopefully with time it will work out better.
I love aespa but it’s so hard to see them put nothing into lee bada’s choreography. To me it feels so obvious that she was posing as one of those female martial artist characters in fighting games. Not getting the hopping right or not being as snappy is forgivable, but they didn’t raise their knees remotely high enough which is what ruined it the most imo. They also could have done w fiercer expressions or the quick head tilt.
The demo one is so dynamic, i dont understand why aespa didn't do the same energy, think its just gonna be hard to dance w that energy while singing at the same time.. but u know.. the difference is too much, pluss they even barely sang live :") imo the girls need to be AT LEEEAST more dynamic in levels (high middle and low level) so that the dance doesn't look too much robotic
aespa's concept is techy and instrumental which needs precise, rigorous and edgy dance moves yet from the debut song it doesn't suit them, expressionless face doesnt mean they can get away with it, some newly debuted girls with same music concept done better than them, they need more training and experience
Agree, I've watched their Dreams Comes True little dance practice and they looked a lot better than those performances where they're wearing heavy dresses
i noticed that aespa doesn't really fill up space as much as the drafts, but maybe it just looks that way because of the distance of the camera, and they don't use levels that much. most of aespa's choreography is executed while they're standing fully, or almost fully, straight with a few moves being down on the ground. obviously i know their movement is kind of restricted because of the outfits they're put in, but i think the styling shouldn't even include tight skirts and pants if the girls are supposed to be dancing to this powerful song. the rie hata drafts stood out to me alot, they included torso isolations(?) that matched up with the beat and used levels to draw focus to the member that was singing and played around with their usage of their space, but the other drafts also had more of a bounce to them. i also really really liked the part after the dance break where instead of fluid motions like the final, the dancers were moving their hands at like the pace of a clock ticking.
If only the camera is steady, then the final choreo is great. But since they did a lot of camera movements, the choreo became an understatement. I can also see that the girls can not bend as low as the choreo from Rie due to their costumes.
Sometimes the camera makes it look better, (like when they’re out of sync but you can only see one or two people so it’s less obvious) but other times it definitely adds to the choppy effect.
it’s so depressing to see how diluted the choreo gets 😭 the dancers are putting in ENERGY, while the aespa girlies are so lacklustre… they are so lacking in power and energy and PASSION… and they aren’t even in sync?? if they were giving live vocals i would understand why - but they are literally performing on studio CHOOM, they ain’t singing, so WHY AIN’T THEY DANCING?? aespa please try to do the choreo justice.. i’m begging 😔
I really like the choreography by Rie Hata, I am glad they used a lot of it. First thing I noticed when I watched it is when aespa did it, they lost the jumpiness which I find interesting. I think that is a good addition because it doesn't fit the entire final choreograpohy and they would also have to sing + the outfits they will wear on stage will differ (and mostly hard to move in them). It does look like it lost energy or power, but as I got to listen more to the song I felt that it's actually really great. The lack of jumpiness fit the more slower background of the song.
Is the redhead even trying 💀💀 The more i watch her the more i question her presence in this group. And what makes this funnier is that this is not a live performance where they have to sing, it's just a recorded performance and they're giving -100% throughout the whole video lmao
i think it mightve just been a bad idea mixing so many together, but it wouldve actually fit the concept better if the girls had skills that would match the choreo
girls era was hell for them i'm glad they got spicy choreography, it fits them so well. And to make it fair, they did the girls choreo well in their recent concerts and tours so yea
I guess another factor why the dance wasn't on par with the drafts (aside from the obvious they need to sing) is that their stage outfits are also restricting their movements. I can't help but notice that difference on 2:59 where the dancers are more bent down at the knees while the girls aren't as much because of their skirts. For choreos that require a lot of leg work and angles like this one, I feel like SM should've accounted for this and let the girls wear more comfortable outfits. It sucks when Karina (obviously their best dancer) can do so much more but isn't allowed by her outfit.
As someone who has danced in short skirts millions of times - that's what the safety shorts are for. Unless it's physically restricting you (fabric doesn't stretch at all), this is not an excuse when it's your literal job to dance.
I support aespa as a group which is exactly why I hope they improve in the choreography aspect. I really think they CAN do better especially karina. We've seen her dance before and I really think this isn't her best even while singing
Yeah, I remember Karina's dancing was so good in Black Mamba era. I just can't figure out why she's not the same anymore. Is it that the other members' dancing infected her with mediocrity?? Like the case of that other kpop group where all members are great dancers except for one sucky dancer. After a few years, the sucky member became as good dancer as the other members..
aespa really doesn't dance as a group. it's like each has her own world when dancing. they're only four yet they're barely synchronized not to mention the low energy. seventeen is shaking.
in the world of dancing theres no awkward (its usually the people who cant dance that says that)- my dance teacher back in 2018 now i totally know what he meant might even be thanking him for this
Okay I love Asepa, but these hardcore moves do not match the girls. Maybe it matches the song, but I’ve always thought they were “too pretty” for them. Not that pretty girls can’t dance hardcore, but their images match more of Girl Generation/Red Velvet dance moves. NingNing and Giselle has the look of a hardcore dancer because their face has a more badass aura to it. Maybe Karina too if she had on the right outfit.
this is why you should find a suitable choreography for your idols!! poor girlies got so much hate for the execution when we all know they can dance well in a different style. they need kyle hanagami back!!
If Æspa was putting less energy in their performances so they can have breath to sing I would understand but they never sing live. There are too much things that are wrong in their stages and the main problems are stage presence and synchronization. If you’re not going to be synchronized because you prefer showing individuals skills and techniques at least have the best stage presence. I love Æspa a lot, their concept, I also like Ningning a lot but one thing that doesn’t make me want to stan is the lack of efforts. Come on, you’re a SM girlsgroup. Prove it and show us you actually want to be idols!
@@cristiebell4584 I can only recall them being live at Coachella and a performance in Japan. {I can be wrong here.} Other than that , pre-recorded vocals.
I really love aespa ever since they debuted, but I hope to see more improvements with their energy as a group next time. The song is energetic but the way they perform it is so underwhelming. I personally like Karina's energy and stage presence tho and even if Winter is the lead dancer, I don't feel like she is one this comeback. Also, Ningning relies more on her facial expression which is understable since she is the main vocalist. For Giselle, she is wonderful (she's my bias BTW) but she really needs to step up her dancing capabilities- she knows that and she admitted it herself that she is really behind from the rest of the members when it comes to dancing. I am not hating, but just pointing out the things that I've noticed. I hope this will reach them and reflect from it. A lot of fans are already pointing this out that sometimes other MY's are taking it to heart and getting offended by it. Still, I will always support aespa forever.
Improving your dance can't happen within few time especially that giselle doesn't have a good dancing background or base she'll struggle but I think one day her dance will match her energy and it'll all go good for her
@@AnzzCheatedOnMarkWithHaechan Time will come. I've noticed a few improvements from her when she dances. It's just that, I find it odd since in some fancams, she dances well and her moves are more precised.
@@lala_kaorichu uhmm same she was doing good in next level but idk what happened in girls era everything was there but she seemed lost idk if this is the right expression but I always said this i feel like aespa when they perform they think too much instead of enjoying the stage and the experience and it could be because of the whole perfection culture or because they don't wanna be criticised or this is their way of being professional idk it could be anything but it always seemed like they're lost in focus sometimes I rely this on how much they move from spot to spot while dancing which makes the dance so messy especially for giselle like every 5 sec she's in different spot and the choreo doesn't help her making these transforms smooth or not off so they seem so unsync sometimes Anyways that so much talking am sorry for nagging but I hope you got what I mean
@@lala_kaorichu yess also in the zach interview giselle said without audience they already knew what they gonna do on each part so I was wondering if they really get instructions and that's why they keep focusing in offering what they were asked to give.. It made sense cos with audiences (coachella and the GMA) it was so fun like it wa sso enjoyable even without the camera work so yeah
🤷🏽♀️ To be honest it's not like the difference is very little , there's a major lack of skills in general that's why even the people who don't dance as often can point them out..
Please let's not compare that much idols vs pro dancers. They trained years only in dancing while idols train for other positions like singing or rapping too.
okay well- the dance only looks good when performed by professional dancers, who don't need to save breath to sing. Anyone (not just aespa) who has to sing and do this dance make the dances short, small but hard hitting moves look jerky and weird. Whereas on the left you can see what they looked like executed to their full potential.
Aespa weren't singing in this video though. All the groups who do performances for Studio Choom lip sync because the whole point of the channel is to showcase the choreography.
Considering they rarely sing live, why bother with having someone stand to lip sync a high note at times like 3:14 and 3:31, when they could just have the original choreo which looks better?
I mean I completely understand the restricted movements when they are performing live cause they also have to sing (and their vocals are amazing) but that was a dance performance and the lack of energy is very noticeable, however I’m sure they will continue improving, they are a very talented group!
They never sing live tho, and that performance is from studio choom where the point is to show how cool the choreography is so they are not even singing at all
actually the choreography isn't that bad, it's just that Aespa lacks energy soo much. there are some parts that look cool but in fact aespa bad at execution that parts. for example at 01:16 giselle only move her hand. she should move her hips too also the dance break, the draft look really good with that energy. but aespa's seems really bland I hope they work hard for the stage presence, they are only 4 so when one looks bad it will be very noticeable especially giselle. I don't know what she was doing 😌
