Aether & Lumine Differences You Never Noticed ! 

What we learned: Lumine doesn't skip leg day Aether doesn't skip arm day

Aether prefers to take in his surrounding, getting distracted or just really enjoys the scenery while Lumine is focus on the goal/objective

I always find that Aether being more defensive. His stance pose, his blade placement.. and wherever he goes, he always look around, keeping awareness to the surrounding. While Lumine was total opposite. She's more offensive. Her stance and blade placement always indicating that she's preparing to strike. But she's weaker in defense, as we always see she holds her chest/ stomach longer than Aether indicating that she took longer time to recover. I guess when they're together, Lumine was the one to strike while Aether cover her blindspots, as their attack pattern always cover each other's vulnerable spot. Also Lumine has more charged attack scaling while Aether has more base hp and def. Imagine how vulnerable you're being separated like that. Not mentioning being nerfed to the ground.

Another detail that you missed but before Childe betray us, While Lumine was cautiously distrusting Child while aether was completely trusting him

aether seems to be the defensive one as he looks around at his surroundings lumine seems to be the one who'd jump into a fight no matter what 😂

Yk I love how the staff gave them different animations and little details because it shows they really put effort in both twins

The anemo color is slightly different too: Aether is more greenish while Lumine it’s blueish.

So basically: Aether:"Curious feral boi with strong biceps" Lumine: "Goal set woman with strong legs"

Lumine "trying hard to be angy but cute" face is clearly the biggest difference

I like that the only thing that changes in the Xianyun SQ cutscene is which sibling has the elemental resonance

I really like how their movements are different in certain scenes. It further emphasises that, although they are the male and female player characters, they are also both their own individual characters! That is one thing I really love about Genshin Impact! The player characters arent just gender flips of each other! Both of them are actual canon characters with their own names and personalities, regardless of which one you pick!

I cry over the end, where brother and sister have a good time together..

I don’t know why but in the we will be reunited cutscene I noticed that the abyss twin’s facial expressions are like- idk different??? It may just be their models face structure but while Aether looked bittersweet and kind of hesitant, Lumine looked distant like she’s reliving a memory. It may not say much but to me it explains their personal personalities so well. Even though we can only speculate it seems as if Lumine is much more headstrong, determined as she looks back at the past without frowning or smiling, since it’s the past to her. While Aether feels more emotionally inclined, he looks at the past compared to the future and feels bittersweet. Anyway thanks for listening to this spiel, I play as Aether so it’s cool seeing Lumine’s side of things. But honestly I’m glad I personally chose Aether cause Lumine is much more mysterious to me- lol. Have a good night/day and to the creator, good job on the great video!!

in other times lumine looked like the older twin in both versions but in Xianyun's story quest she looked like a little girl who saw her big brother again and ran towards him with nothing stopping her in both versions 😭😭😭

2:12 this is the only difference that actually matters

Some things I notice at start of game, both Traveler is quite different by attitude and, traits maybe? Aether seems to looking around more, shows that he's more observant on surrounding than Lumine, clearly he's the older sibling, as JP and KOR dub said Lumine that seems hesitant to touch the statue also shows that she's, well, not used to be on her own, maybe, like she used to have Aether to make sure everything is safe, so now that she's on her own, she's having more time to adapt with her surrounding Aether seems to have stronger arms, while Lumine have stronger legs. I think we all know about it now Sitting position, napping position, and running position is just showing that they're male and female, I like that HYV keep it around in each scene, a little things to differentiate them Now overtime, their difference is seems to dissipate one by one (except the fact they're male and female), but Xianyun's story quest kinda point us out again that Lumine is the younger sister. Because the fact that she's immediately break down and run into her brother (in dream ofc), kinda shows that she's missing him too much, whereas Aether is still trying to keep his cool (he break down eventually) I'm a Lumine player myself, I really love her that I actually build my Lumine as strong as I can, and keep her around team (at least now in story or just for immersion, but she's basically ready and not benched). Seeing this video, I kinda like how the character development goes for her. From the usual backseater that used to have his brother to look everything for her, to completely her own, staying strong and also observant to everything while keep caring to everyone like a princess she should be

One point I noticed immediately (it was why I picked her) was that Lumine had her sword in the left hand when they were together at the beginning. Despite switching her sword to the right hand since, the various combat animations make it clear she's far closer to ambidextrous, preferring her left hand for "spellcasting" where Aether prefers to momentarily free up his right. While the developers not creating separate Hydro Bursts (there are potential problems with making the "water ball" spin in different directions)) leaves me doubtful, it's still possible that Aether's professed favoritism for Pyro and Lumine's for Cryo (it's in their voice line banks) may differentiate their later kits.

The Xianyun syory quest cutscene is one of my favorites, showcases my two favorite characters in a reunion. Contrary to the title, I noticed all but one detail which is here: 2:28 where Aether has a different gesture than Lumine. I'm glad people are still making these kinds of videos with the main twins ♡

The way Lumine looks straight and Aether looks around makes me imagine them together entering the room like Lumine enters first, ready to enter the battle. Aether looks around to see if there's any danger. Referencing to their strength with Lumine having the high attack dmg and Aether covering her blind spots.

The way they run to hug each other and Aether spins Lumine is just heart breaking ;( that shows how much the traveler actually misses their twin and cares about them. I cannot wait for them to reunite.

That was fun to watch! There're also other subtle differences, right now I can remember for example their voicelines, where Lumine says she likes Cryo slimes (something about them being useful in summer) and Aether prefers Pyro slimes (you'd need them in winter). Or the way they hold on Kaeya's hand in his hangout. Also I think there's a difference how they react during Childe's transformation in Fontaine's court ^^

I liked that in various aspects Lumine does things that a girl would do and Aether does things that boys would do hahahaha. I simply love these details

i was so surprised when we meet our sibling in Dainsleif quest i thought we will not meet our twin only in the end game but no i was so shocked and then when the twin left us i said oh we r searching for u everywhere but u was purposely avoiding us -_-

it’ basically showing general differences between two genders, some aren’t necessarily “styles”, from the postures to range of movement, it actually depicts mechanical restrictions and implies differences in bone structure, weight distribution, even the factor of “balls” in the way they sit there’s also the behaviors which goes into biopsych territory, Aether moves with heavier arms and interacts with the world more(basically his upper body moves more “free-er”), while Lumine moves more delicately and somewhat “defensive”, she’s often with lifted-hands in tense or anxious situations(instinctual stance to protect the chest which for girls is more vulnerable) pretty good job with these little details

Basically what I can tell is much like the slight difference in their fighting stats, Aether is the shield and Lumine is the sword. They also have opposing dominant hands when they fight. They both look around a lot just Lumine does it with her eyes rather than her whole body which also tracks, physical movement would give away where she’s looking in fights and make it easier to predict her movements, Aether being a shield he basically needs to be shielding everywhere he looks. Aether gives off the impression that he just refuses to be overtly distrustful, he trusts in himself that he can manage whatever happens regardless of the outcome. Lumine on the other hand seems to overtly distrust when given a reason but will play along with whatever the situation may be. (In a Fontaine world quest it’s confirmed that lumine behaves this way idk about Aether I don’t play as him) She just seems generally less surprised by betrayals than Aether.

What threw me of guard was the fact that in the "meeting Tartaglia" cutscene, Aether was hydro 😂

Kudos to you man, I love seeing their differences and similarities. Lumine seems to be more of the offensive when the twins were together, but she's now seen always keeping a hand close to her chest on guard. Meanwhile Aether's weapon stance is usually defensive but the hand not holding the sword is never defensive 5:30 Aether became spiderman for a sec

8:00 I loved that they actually moved the camera to the other side to match the twin view. They could have made it super cheap if they'd flipped the video but we could have noticed it by looking at their clothes haha

1:59 Abyss Aether lifts his chin up to look down on the abyss mage. It looks like he’s intentionally trying to show his power, like making people believe he’s above them. Abyss Lumine doesn’t need to *pretend* to display her power, even with an even gaze it’s clear that she’s more powerful. Also, in general, it seems Lumine is more focused on her goal where Aether is more like “hmm…but what’s *this?”*

If you look at their charge atk,Lumine does more dmg, and by looking at the poses at 5:23, Lumine is more of a attacker while Aether is the defender (Maybe you already covered that)

It's even more interesting that, while it's not explicitly pointed out in the video, you can clearly see the arms/legs difference, wherein Lumine, even when she's standing up from a crouch, be it slowly or into a sprint, she does so without using her arms for support, meanwhile Aether does, like at 6:04 (Aether pushes his arm on his knee for the burst of speed, Lumine just dashes with her legs) or 9:13 (Aether stands up by pushing the ground, Lumine just uses her legs)

Women and men move differently in different circumstances. The art is wonderful and the drawers took his into consideration when they were creating the characters! Chops to HoYo!

All videos like this really prove to me is that they didn't just copy/paste everything, as some people have said that they did... I like playing the game anyway, but it's nice to see that there are some differences (even if they still lead to the same outcome anyway...)...😁

Its adorable that they have these differences in my opinion, 1. It shows how much care was put into making them different, and 2. It makes them feel even more like siblings who are on good terms.

I love how they’re actually they’re own character, not just the same character genderbent and with a different outfit. Also, it solidifies that I did, in fact, choose the right twin for myself, Aether is definitely way more me💀🙏

They also have quite a few differences in the hangout endings.

As an Aether user, I still prefer him. I love Lumine sooo so much, but Aether fits to the traveler hero and his little girlie pop companion so much better. The way he's brave but careful, and do anything without hesitation fits better on a traveler. Also, Lumine is SUCH A GOOD EVIL PRINCESS LIKE DAMNN the way her eyes are so careless fits her better. AND her sword is more badass as a "villain". I always liked how Aether was a friend with everyone when they just met. He's so friendly and still serious. The way he's looking around and was always amused by the nature. I JUST LOVE HIM

Kind of glad I chose Aether. He seems more reactionary to the things going on around him compared to Lumine. But, I’m glad to see the differences between the two characters. It shows their gameplay is slightly different, if only in appearance.

Explanation for *some* of lumine's different movements ,if she did like aether ,we would see everything beneath her skirt. I dont think anyone wants to see that-

the feeling that Lumine doesn't care what happens, went so for 5 minutes. and Iter seems to know that a long journey awaits him and this is evident throughout the plot

When greeting Traveler after our meet with Davin, during when the Traveler started gliding, Amber’s gloves were different colors with Aether vs Lumine. With Aether they were white, with Lumine they were brown

This is great! Im so happy the animation team didn't go with a simple model swap and instead added enough detail to the animations to make each twin feel distinct.

There is certainly a difference between them because they are male and female. To be clear, Aether wouldn't have sat like Lumine in the first quest because it is a feminine movement and Lumine cannot do the same thing I hope you understood this simplified explanation💀💀💀 they are so cuties...

Personally it feels like Lumine is the serious type of person while Aether is the more curious type (as with many of the cutscenes it is shown that Aether looks around while Lumine is always looking straight ahead)

I think in certain positions, like 0:23 and 1:26, Aether has his legs in a position where it's a bit too revealing for Lumine to be in since he has pants, and she has a dress

Xanguin (sorry if spelt name Wrong) story quest made me emotional when both screens were playing I think (this is my opinion) that lumine and Ather are in different worlds but doing the same things

I just clicked for Lumine because she is just adorable
