Affective Neediness 

We know that Affective Need, in general - the affective in particular - is a common evil in our times. And that it is at the root of many other evils that affect the human being.
To fight it and overcome it, it is necessary to understand it!

THE LACE AND THE HUG

My God! How funny!
I had never noticed how curious a bow is... a ribbon going around.
It curls up, but doesn't tangle, turns, turns, circles and that's it: the
link. This is how the hug is: heart to heart, all of it surrounded by
arm. This is how the bow is: a hug in the present, in the hair, in the dress,
in anything where I do it.
And when I pull one end, what happens? It's slipping...
slowly, undo, undo the hug.
Loosen the gift, the hair, it is loose in the dress.
And, in the tape, how curious, not even a piece was missing.
Oh! So, that's love, friendship.
Everything is feeling. As a piece of tape.
It curls, it holds a little, but it can come undone at any time,
leaving the two bands of the loop free. That's why it's said: loop
affective, bond of friendship.
And when someone fights, then it is said: ties are broken.
And both parts come out, just like my pieces of tape, without losing any
chunk.
So that's what love and friendship are...
Do not hold, do not enslave, do not tighten, do not suffocate.
Because when it becomes a knot, it is no longer a bow!
