Ok...you can believe this or not...when I was 15 in the 80’s my Mother purchased a down filled puffer coat for me. 25.00 (this was a sacrifice for her). I still have it and wear it. It’s in perfect condition. I’m now 58 (do the math). It’s 43 years old! What a buy!

Hey Girl Hey! I am definitely not shopping for clothing this season. I finally got divorced and moved. The move after 23 years in my family home made me declutter A LOT! Now only things I love enter my space and I’m content with that. I am shopping for gifts for my adult children this season and I would like to get myself a new bag to celebrate my new life! Btw I still like the white oversized coat!!!!

I feel you on the big, long coats. I love them but at 5'3"...they can be too much. Fell in love with a beautiful, subtle camo Banana Republic maxi trench last week and almost pulled out the wallet but after watching the video I took wearing it in the store... no. I am drowning. 😢 The white coat is too big. Maybe if it was a little shorter or nipped in at the waist? ✌🏾❤️

It took me a lot of emotional energy to get rid of some old jackets and coats. My sister came through haha. She gave me a journal called Throw It Away by Guru Notebooks. It was cute and helpful, had me think through if I reallllllly needed them anymore.

This holiday season I am shopping for family this new year I will not be buying all those clothes I don’t get a chance to wear I went thru my closet I couldn’t believe how much clothes I had with brand new tags still on them I completely forgot I even had these items

Get rid of the too big coats. There is someone who can benefit from them and you can get items that fit your style and size better!

Hi Kura, I believe the Teddy coats are just big and hide your shape. I like 3 quarter coats on you that’s more structured. The Alo coat was cute. The black coat from the Gap was cute too. 😊

Yeah the white coat does give bathrobe vibes. I think it’s because they have the same looking type collars. 😂 thank you for sharing and for showing us why the things you’re declutterring don’t quite work for you anymore. This helps me to learn of more ways why some things wouldn’t work for me and helps to make less “mistakes” and not getting things I don’t really love anymore. Love your channel. 🙏🏽

At first I was like "Noooo!" I just bout the Good American pink puffer jacket-- but then I looked at yours closely-- it's way too big. I think it's good it's going! Totally right about the teddy coat; again I think it's that they are too big.They're too big without intentionally looking oversized.

Shakura I love the video! I have a weakness for coats (and boots)! I also was on the hunt for a stylish but also warm puffer coat and I got lucky on the real real. I found a fabulous belted puffer by a New York designer named Dawn Levy. It has a beautiful white shearling collar and cuffs and makes me feel like Cameron Diaz in her Chloe coat in The Holiday(IYKYK). I have named her Cami D and she is Fabulous!

You make me laugh! While I like the white, J Crew coat, I understand. I feel like our perspective changes as we evolve in our style. If you try it on, and it doesn't reflect where you are now. The pink puff coat....you're right, it ready to move on. The gold puffy coat isn't you, send it to another home. I base my comments on what you discovered after your trip abroad. I thought it was me, I've done the same thing. My husband just looks at me funny, but I need to feel like my clothes need to reflect where I am today. Love your style!

Hope you enjoyed good food and good company on Thanksgiving. I do not think you should keep either of the coats. They all look too big and shapeless on you now. If you like the white one might be salvageable by a tailor. Get the sexy replacements😆😂

Dear Kura, I too think that all of the coats should go based upon your current feelings towards them. Clearly, the love has gone and it’s time for new beginnings. I would, however, argue to keep the pink puffer coat, add a contrasting belt or alter it to make it a vest. I did not shop this Black Friday weekend….most people I know stayed away. However, those gold J. Crew loafers are calling my name!!! Be blessed.

You need to try the oversized white coat with heeled boots or pumps. I think it would look a lot more interesting. A few tucks by a good tailor…

Not sure if it was you who me tioned it but now fashion is going toward more fitted looks, so you may subconsciously along with your weightloss want more fitted looks. I went black friday shopping the week before because I got paid but also cuz I did NOT want to deal with all those people. I got some Guess chelsea boots, Cole Haan riding boots, some primark house slippers annnnd a new handbag from Marshalls unexpectedly from Anne Klein lol once i get that black coat and mayybe a nice tote i’ll be good for awhileeeee

The tan fluffy coat is soft and comfortable not like plastic you will be glad you got one.

At the end of the day, if you haven’t worn it and aren’t feeling it, you are not going to wear it. Just let it go and make room for some new gear.

I love the brown teddy coat and the longer white coat. I think you see some of the coats in a funny way because have on you pjs and a head wrap. I say try them on with outdoor clothes.

Every Teddy Coat Gives Robe. Even the Max Mara versions. I expected them to look a bit different. I purchased one from ASOS and 😂. I love it nonetheless. The allsaints shearling, Love.

Hey Shakura! Thanks for another classy and inspiring video. I think the problem with those Teddy coats is the shape - that straight up and down. If they had more of a balloon shape, I think they would lose the bathrobe look. 😂 I've been trying to find the perfect Teddy coat and I've been having a time. I like your alternatives, but still not quite the look I'm going for, that fits my aesthetic. I hope you're able to get coats that are perfect for you and will be for years to come. One category that's often missing with the ladies I follow are true, down filled sub zero coats with hoods. I have a really cute one that I bought years ago at Burlington. I think it's Ralph Lauren or some similar brand, and it's long, super warm, and I love it. Whether I'm shoveling snow, waiting for a train, or sledding, it does the trick.

I stopped really giving gifts several yrs ago. Neither of my kids (one adult, one teen) really want much so a few things for them and thats it. That said, Black Friday was all about Momma! 😂 The sales were really good this yr compared to the last few yrs. So I bought some much needed shoes and purses. I teally want to step up my coat game this year. I realize while I *might* stumble across something I like for cheap - I likely just need to face the cost and invest in a beautiful coat or two. I mean seriously, its not like winter doesnt come back to the Midwest every year. 😂

Yes, remove those coats from your wardrobe. A coat should make you feel amazing! You need coats with structure and some emphasis on the waist. The white maxi coat is beautiful but large (try adding a belt). You are gorgeous ❤

My shopping strategy this year is very targeted to a few things for friends, and 2 things on my list for myself. So very streamlined, there won't be any major shopping because I got enough during the year.

I agree with all your coat give a way choices and potential replacements! I did just a little shopping for myself as there weren't many deals at all this year😕. My birthday is mid November so, I wait until this time treat myself. Life has been LIFE-ING and so I had to give myself pause when at checkout. Hi Sis. That Faux shearling is really nice. I just don't like bell sleeves for me 😂. I realized a couple of years ago bucket bags were not for me as those bags sat on the shelf. I'm not shopping if It is not a need. Yeah, I don't think that pink puff coat is you unless you are wearing it over your shoulders. That j.crew one is actually nice. I think it all comes down to sizing. They are all a little too big. The alternatives I liked were the first two. You don't love it, list it.
