Mardingtop 50L framed backpack review. Sometimes cheaper might not be better, but it's close enough! Amazon Associates paid link for Mardingtop packs: amzn.to/3YFffjt As an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
I have their 55L camp back. I also own a few Mystery Ranch packs, Gregory, Frost River, Eberlestock, etc..., along with some MILSURP packs (FILBE, ILBE, etc...), and the Mardingtop is hands down the best value pack. I'd say it provides about 3/4's of the performance of my packs costing 3X as much. Great features and they come well built too.
I rock the Mardingtop 75 L and so do my sons. The big bags will do whatever you want . It's better to have the size and not need it than need it and not have it.
Nice looking pack and great review . That size pack is just about right for most short trips but I would prefer more reinforced stitching on stress points. Good job as always.
I keep my rain jacket in that top flap along with the rain fly, that way if it starts raining they are both right there easy to get without opening the pack
It's semi-rigid. Soft enough to flex it by hand, but stiff enough to help distribute the weight across your back. I'm comfortable carrying around 30ish pounds in it but if you're looking to do heavy rucks then you'll probably want a stiffer frame.
