I bought this model 3 months ago. Overall, the frame, motor, shocks, brakes, and wheels give a solid impression, but I found the following drawbacks: a) The controller wobbles loosely in the frame, causing noise on bumps. b) The display is blinding at night, even at the lowest setting. c) The controller displays Error 26 (overheating) after about 20 minutes of uphill riding - you have to wait for it to cool down. d) Replacing the battery from the bottom can be inconvenient when you can't charge it through an external socket. e) The rear shock is very stiff and seems to work sensibly only for people weighing over 120kg. f) The controller's bike configuration is very basic (only 3 available configurations: km/mile, wheel size, and speed limit) with non-removable nonsense, such as significant power around 200W even for PAS=1 - I eventually replaced it with a reliable LCD3+KT set, which has many cool features like cruise control and gradual acceleration, and, most importantly, you can configure power parameters as desired and securely mount it on the bike frame. The only issue when replacing the controller is a different PAS element connection standard - a new plug is required. g) The rear light, pedals, and bike stand are of very low quality - I've already replaced everything. h) It's difficult to install a rear mudguard due to the softtail. i) The bike is for people up to 175 cm tall, or you have to ride with bent legs.
I just bought one and test drive it. To the point it is a good fun ride for those people who like to get exercise and trail riding off roading or just around your neighborhood or city rides but for extreme mountain trail riding high hills or even trying to make this bike fly. No this is not the bike for you. To the frame, monitor, wires, tires, brakes, lights, and the weight of the bike oh also the seat. Feels high quality.👍👍👍
I was in a coma for 7 weeks icu for 3 months, idc what ppl think when they see me on my e-bike I’m just happy to be alive and very fortunate to be able to ride a bike!
Micah, I’ve been following your reviews for only a short time and was psyched to find this review on Black Friday when the bike was 1/3 off. Your review addressed many questions including the most important one: can it withstand daily rides on the streets of NYC arguably the equivalent of medium off-road trails that have beaten more than one bike I’ve owned. I did test rides on a few higher end “commuters” and knew a decent mountain bike was the answer and so far, so good. Figured you should know they did go even cheaper with the lights unfortunately with only a clip on rear light and while assembly wasn’t difficult the instructions for adjusting the disc brakes are woefully inadequate. Otherwise, all good.
Looks like a great deal and the Amazon listing says it has a torque sensor!!!!.. The method for removing the battery probably makes for a stronger lighter down tube than the otherwise U shaped cross section. Amazon has a lower spec Paselec G9 without rear suspension and just 7 gears but otherwise same everything else (and torque sensor!!) for an even more incredible $997.
Review a paselec gs9 plus 750w motor 48v 14.5 amp battery with throttle use. It's a pleasure to work a mountain bike with city use. Love the 750w motor. It has all I need.
Can you compare this paselec GS9 to the review: you makeTenways belt-drive ELECTRIC. Which one is the most roadworthy or company that have better customer service?
Planning to buy this. How is the bike holding out so far? Is it good for off road trails (not really for jumping hills, but I'll be riding on different terrain like gravel, stony areas, fields, tree roots, gentle hills etc.)?
Well it's not a true enduro fs bike, but I've been eyeballing the Sirius from a company out of Portland OR called V Volt. Gates carbon belt and Enviolo transmission. MPF middrive, small-ish battery. $2800. No throttle.
I bought one in May of 2022 buyer beware to major problems with this ebike first one the controller isn't mounted inside of the frame so it just raddles as you ride so after awhile it will fail you that means you just have a very heavy bike the second problem is the customer service will just play their games and give you a run around that's if you can get a hold of them what this means in my case is they won't honor the warranty so I spent 1,500 for one month of fun now I have a 70 pound bicycle !
What do you think of the gs9 plus for $1700. And the px6 for a female for $1400? Or would you recommend something else for cheaper or same price but better? Thank you.
I just ordered one because at first glance it doesn't look like an E-bike. A lot of the trails near me allow e-bikes but all the California Karens give so much shit to E-bikes when they're on the trails and not even going any faster then the standard bicycles. They just see someone not pedaling and immediately think AH! MOTORCYCLE ON THE PATH! So I'm hoping that as long as I'm just using pedal assist and not pure electric throttle, no one will even notice that it's an electric bike.
Nice u put ALL LINKS .. with ur vids..soo helpful if need anything! What u would saying ultimate Ebike.. regardless of cost! Seems it’s stealth Ebikes f37.. or I’m wrong!?:/ thanks!
Bonjour quelqu'un pourrait m'aider a savoir comment je peut connaitre le niveau de la batterie. Le niveau affiché en haut de l'écran ne bouge jamais. Merci.
Hi, I am looking at one of these in UK. However I am on the short side at 5 feet 4 inches, with a 27 inch inside leg (on a good day!!) Now, I would like some info on seat height for this bike, if it is in its lowest position in the downtube, can anyone give me this info? Thanks in advance.. 🙂
I ordered one of this companies biked this week. I had questions so i emailed them, then i called. I have emailed and called meny times this week. I got nothing. No cumunication means no warrenty to me. This is scaring me. Maybe they are out of business
It's a difficult question, I have both (but both non electric) , both bikes bring a lot of fun, however the characteristics on loose ground are different. Fat bikes offer huge grip, but they are sometimes a little bit sluggish because of the heavier tires. It's probably the best if you try it by yourself by loaning a bike somewhere.
Simon's reply is excellent and correct. I currently have a fat tire Radrover 5, and I'm changing to the Gs9. Why? Mostly personal preference...for me the 27.5" regular tires are more nimble than my 26" fat tires. Tubes and tires are also cheaper. Also when I am riding on trails I look less like an ebike and more like a regular pedal bike.
@@erikkpritchard that's right, tires for fat bikes are quite expensive, these bikes are not that common, and the numbers of tires they sell are much smaller compared to mtb tires, MTBs are used in huge numbers around the globe. Also the choice is much bigger at mtb tires compared to fat tires where you can choose from maybe 10 models in total. For mtb you get simpler tires (in EU around 15 €) or competition grade models (around 40 €), 26 X 4,7 inch fat tires are between 50 to 60 € and 80 € per tire here.
@@michaeljung4398 You flip a lever, battery slides right out. How could it be easier? Sure, for those working on their $1000 e bike on the grass, crawling around on our knees it's awkward, but everything else is too. How would you adjust the handlebars while the bike is laying on it's side? bad engineering? What about fixing a flat? bad engineering?
In China, riding an electric bicycle is more convenient than driving, because it is too crowded everywhere in China, there is a large population and every family has a car, so if I don't go far, I like riding an electric bicycle. But China's electric bicycles look like this.
It lost me at 500 watt motor! It can't climb even small hills well with only 500 Watts. Others are now out at a similar price with 750 watt nominal motors.
Yo I love watching your videos and idk I wish for you to sell me that bike I always wanted one but I don’t have a lot of money I just want to ride a bike just like that one its a lot of money and I really can’t afford one like that one so I just will wish if you could sell me that bike please my birthday is coming up soon my I would love to go on a bike ride so if you could please let me know Ty
True it is a hassle to remove and replace the battery. However, the down tube is probably more structurally sound for its weight and size as it is a complete tube instead of being an open U profile.
Here's a consideration: If you travel long distances using a hitch rack, you probably want to keep the battery inside your car. On some ebikes (my Gazelle included), this exposes a connector to rain and mud. I had to buy a 3rd-party protective sleeve for the down tube. Less likely to be an issue with this design.
Their Aliexpress offer of this bike says 23 kg (and 25 kg further down) - I don't have the bike (it wouldn't be road legal in Europe), but 23 to 25 kg sounds plausible for such a bike
China manufactures every e-bike sold in the US. Americans no longer mass produce much at all anymore (other than shitty autos). Yes, the US has Tesla (but he grew up in South Africa). Unfortunately, American kids just don't want to study engineering anymore (it's too difficult for them). And so many engineering schools in the US are no longer even respected around the world. Their curriculums have been so dummed down in the past 10 years (mostly making way for unprepared US kids, who also don't have a good work ethic). The US deserves its demise.
Hi Micah you got me buy the swagtron eb1 years ago. I promote the Paselec brand on my channel. they're are 3 models of ebikes in the series. THE G9 $899, THE GS9 $1349 and the gs9 plus for $1649. My coupon codes get you these prices. brothaderrickg9,brothaderrickgs9,and brothaderrikpgs9-plus on Paselebikes.com. i don't like the fact that you called the bikes cheap. I know they are premium ebikes,or i wouldn't promote them. but one question why didn't you review the gs9-plus. thats the powerhouse, I know because i have one. and the 14.5ah battery ,the hydraulic brakes, the 9speed shimano, and the 750w motor. why didn't you review that sir. Good video as always micah, you are the best and I strive to reach your level sir. thanks for putting the word out about Paselec ebikes. Can you review the paselec px5 foldable ebike? It's in my opinion the best foldable ebike out there for the price. I bought one myself, and i made a deal to sell it for $899. with my coupon code: brothaderrickpx5-w. Im not plugging these ebikes on your site for personal gain. i'm doing itbecause youn are bigger than I am and the american people needto know about these ebikes. They are that damn good! and a steal for the money! thanks for reading! love you Micah, you got me out of the mobility scooter onto ebikes! and I'm trying to get disabled people like me to do the same. Get an ebike and get out and ride!
