I agree! I worked for a construction mgmt firm, Parsons, who managed a few construction projects in Dubai. An engineer I worked with on a project here in Los Angeles came back to the U.S. very wealthy after finishing a project in Dubai.

@@DusableLewis Not the same thing. Architects can design all they want. It gets put into reality by the construction team. Everyone plays their part though. And just because an architect puts things on paper, it doesn't mean it will work in the field 100% of the time.

I got to spend 7 months in Dubai and Abu Dhabi backing 2012 working with the military and the embassy. I got to see the good, meaning the tourist stuff, but I also got to see The bad and The ugly, meaning how they treat people who are not rich or tourist . I personally tell folks never move there, maybe visit for a few weeks, but do not move there.

Hey man congrats on your marriage, i notice the homes/apartments are concrete and they all look a like from the outside its reminds me of the modular home models when you mentioned they build them quick am i wrong, which im probaly is but the concept remind of that model they all are almost a box shape no two story is there a reason for that is not to block the view. My husband and I lived in Sharjah near Dubai from 2006 till 2009. Someone wrote all that glitters is not always gold. This is very true in Dubai also.

You cannot compare Sharjah to Dubai. You most probably lived in Sharjah because Dubai was too expensive for you. That's usually the case. Anyway, if you went back to Dubai now, you wouldn't recognise it and it's even more expensive. But still cheaper than many places in the West etc.

@@artisthusnatalal3099 One of my business associates lives in Bahrain and he is still there. He used to live in Dubai. Generally, cost of living in Bahrain is about 50% cheaper. Do your own research before making a decision and weigh up all the pros and cons no matter where or what you decide.

Respectfully... The comparisons to New York, are kind of irrelevant. It's like trying to sell someone a Corvette by saying: "If this was a Lamborghini" it would cost you 5 times as much. A Corvette is not a Lamborghini though... And Dubai (As nice lovely as it is.) is not New York.

There are Halal and non Halal options . From my research and conversations with friends there , the option to put 20% down and have terms with no interest is very common.

There is financing from banks but you won't be approved. Developers have payment plans for off-plan but it is a terrible idea to buy anything off-plan.

Omg which makes since if your from New York. The prices in New York are ridiculous. I rather be in more luxury that's worth it. One bedroom in New York, is a mortgage on a brand new house. So 250 to 400,000 would be nothing to spend in Dubai. Especially if u own it.
