Setting the CV or CC on these sets the upper limits on these. 1st set the max V at that time (no load) you are not able to see any changes to the values via the current knobs.. however by playing with them you are setting the max ie ceiling current (you just can't see it). To set the inial max current, just touch the probles together (after you have set the max V), this will now show you the ceiling current (which you can now adjust via the course or fine knobs). And here you go, you have set the max levels for the CV and CC. Hope this helps.

hi you could replace the Corse current and Corse voltage potentiometers with 10 turn potentiometers for finer and easier control

Personally, I would assemble an RD6006 - you can pick and choose the PSU and use a mobile phone or PC to control the power outputs, although it might be a bit more expensive..

I totally agree with you. It would also been more precisely and convenient to work with. There are way better power supplies out there to choose from within this price range.

Is this yet another company that lies about FCC certification? I can see the attraction of getting this, but if they can lie to appear legitimate would they also be concerned about quality and safety?
@MyPlayHouse

I do not know if the FCC certification is real,, I think they sell a lot of power supply's like this. I would not rule it out, that they got something done.

Just a few days ago, I got a PSU from Banggood too. A bit more expensive, but it is real nice with a keypad to just enter volt/amp, and memory for the most commonly used. Still has a rotary up/down encoder for fine adjust, not those those finicky twister button.

@@MyPlayHouse Yeah, your self-built one looks like a quite nice project for its time. But with digital controls and more complex (and cheap) component types, many extra features are nearly free to implement now.

It looks like it works but not being able to toggle the output separately from the device power? Not being able to see the setpoint when using the dials if you aren't connected to anything? I wouldn't choose this myself for a 60v lab psu if I needed one. I like my Tacklife 30v/5a one from Amazon but they don't make a 60v version.
@MyPlayHouse

@@MyPlayHouse Yeah if you were interested in looking at a few more power supplies I will probably need a 60v one eventually to do some PoE stuff that is way over 30v. I have a peaktech 6227 that works fine in the same voltage range, but it was 110€... ups... but the settings thing is clicking on my unit. So I think, I‘ll get one, but only for testing of non sensible components like pamps, battery’s or so. PS: I‘ve just started to watch your videos on my tv, with a denon amp and pioneer cs-797 HiFi speakers instead of usb pc loudspeakers. Does my my setup fools me or did you microphone catching low persistent base sounds? At 9:50 it‘s fine and at 10:05 it‘s started again. Maybe my new setup is way to overkill to watch RU-vid videos.

I actually laughed out loud when you said "Banggood is very good at sending the correct power cord" ... I bought a cheap laptop from Banggood (~$500) and received the wrong power cord. I emailed them, and their response was "oh, we will give you a $8 refund" .. which of course I did not accept... Some 24 emails later I finally gave up on them sending me the correct power adapter and accepted a $100 refund.. (I modified the power cord they sent me to suit our sockets)... Moral of the story - keep hounding Banggood if they do not do what their website says they will...

@mikeunum

NPS605W - There is a black and white one. Looks good to me. Think about safety and Chinese stuff. Don't go over 60% of the named performance. You can still change the voltage set potmeter with a 10 rounds potmeter. By 60V means you get 6 Volt per round and not 60 Volt by 80% turning of a default potmeter.

Nice little switchmode :-D Yes i also thought the capacitors were delaying the voltage change, you could put a bulb across the terminals to see if the voltage lag vanishes. Then you would know why its acting odd.

@lnxpro
@lnxpro 3 года назад
For those cheap power supplies, you can short the output to discharge the internal capacitor much faster. Obviously you shouldn't do that with a battery connected to the same terminals at the same time :) I would have recommended a riden RD6012 or 6006 power supply instead. so much easier to operate and a lot more fine control over voltage and amperage as you can either dial them in, or turn the knob which is a rotary encoder, not an analog potentiometer.
