I thought that your left side was high-end based on the EYESHADOW! 😍. My personal preference is shimmer vs glitter and that 11:11 palette is beautiful. That is what I think of as an "ethereal" look. I've tried to find good individual shimmers but they usually end up too glittery or metallic ... so my go-to lid shimmer has been the Essence Pure Nude highlighter. Thank you for showing the ColourPop palette (I think it looks better and is at a price point I'm willing to pay for, too). 😁
I gave up trying to guess which sides are high-end. When someone knows their face and skin and how to apply makeup well, they can make even crappy makeup look decent. BUT I definitely liked the affordable side for this video. I liked the eyeshadow the most, as far as depth and tone of color, it was definitely colourpop by a landslide!
Love this one! I’m always up for a good drugstore dupe or alternative 🎉 I thought both sides looked nice but I agreed with you on every product when you said the more affordable one just looked better. I especially saw it with the colorpop shadows vs the makeup by Mario shadows. They just looked so much smoother and nicer on the eye. Hope you have a great weekend! Hugs! ❤️💖
It used to be hard to find affordable eyeshadows with comparable quality, but that sure has changed. The bottom line is that high end makeup is just not an option for many people, so it’s important to keep showing that expensive makeup isn’t necessary for a beautiful high end look.
The product where I see the difference most clearly is the mascara! I have both and I reach for both, but the purple Lash Princess is one of my favorites. It does look better that FanFest! Another favorite that keeps surprising me is the Push Up Angel from Maybelline. It has that weird wand that looks like a brush, but it gives good length and separates the lashes well.
My girl ...whoo hoo!! Thanks Ashley 😍😘 I know it's older but have you tried the missha bb cream, I just ordered it and I'm in love 😍 I searched you and that foundation and I didn't get anything but it's amazing and I got it on Amazon for under 10 bucks 😊
Always interesting and affirming when I see these types of videos. No we do not always need high end makeup! Side note Essence always kills it in the mascara world! ❤️
I like the affordable side better! I don't enjoy taking time to try to build up or blend out patchy eye shadows or sheer toppers with no pigment. That's the way I judge in an eyeshadow is good if it takes 2 seconds to apply LOL
I guessed the mario palette because…. I bought that palette and returned it TWICE!!! For the reasons you noted…. I thought maybe I just was crazy or not using it correctly when I bought it the second time after trying it again, I knew it wasn’t me, it was the palette! Back it went never to be seen on my eyes again!
Υοu are definitely really thorough and I love it! I have, use and love the Maybelline skin tint. I apply it with a brush and if I feel I need to (I rarely do but whatever) I will go over it with a sponge. I'm one of those weird people that dislike using my hands to apply makeup so I will use brushes for everything and then go over the whole face with a sponge to just melt/press everything down a tad better.
Thanks! I'm the same way... never got the hype in using fingers. Just did it in this video because I tried all the other ways to apply the Estee Lauder foundation and didn't like any of them, haha.
I too have both pallets and I felt the same. I was shocked and tried to take my time with the Mario one but at the end of the day, just not worth it to me. I gave mine away. I had same thoughts on the mascara as well. I actually didn’t think it done much for my lashes at all. Then again I have always been an essence mascara girly lol so maybe I’m not giving it a fair chance.
Nahh, girl, if you don't need a new palette, don't buy it! I don't want anyone to feel like they have to go out and buy something, right then and there, because of me!
Hey. I’ve been using Anastasia dusty rose for years and I’m tired of buying the soft glam or mini or even the single. Is there anyone out there that makes a dusty rose that is similar? It’s been maddening trying to find a drug store dupe. You know the inventive dusty rose. Help a girl out. Only you would know… 😂
Hmm, I don't have Soft Glam or any of its dupes on me anymore, so I'm just going off of what it looks like online. But have you looked into the Colourpop eyeshadow quad in "Sorbet" (the bottom left shade)? The Sorbet shade may be too pinky. Maybe even look into the 10 shade Profusion palette called "Mauves." Might be a shade in there that's similar.
