FINALLY!😊 Someone who thinks about the women who use watches. 😍 Watch videos are usually about men's watches, and not all women like "fashion" watches, so thank you so much for this video.
Ladies, be careful watching his channel. Next thing you know you're researching watches until 3am, went from one watch to 20, and slap a $3000 dollar one on your debit card without hesitation.
That’s what I did. I’m a woman and I just bought my first adult watch, the Longines Spirit 37mm in champagne. I received it today in the mail, and I’m absolutely in love! But also now I am out of 3.6K Dollar CAD 😅😂 I did so much research and watch the majority of Teddy’s videos to find the right watch for me. Thank you Teddy! Somehow I fear it’s not going to be the only expensive watch that I will buy in my lifetime. It worries me 😅
I went down the rabbit hole, started with the tank francaise last year, had to snatch the tank must, received the maker with blue dial from Tiffany and now I am watching this channel, I am doomed 😂
I'm so glad you mentioned options that weren't your typical "You're a womanly woman, here's pink, sparkles and uselessness" (Which is totally acceptable too but it's nice to also be acknowledged as not only that) I'd love if you could do one of these once in a while or talk about unisex watches a bit more. Thank you!
Teddy thank you for posting this! As a woman and avid watch collector it's so rare to find watch content for me, thank you for thinking of us! Proud to say I've got the mondaine/seiko/junghans watches and loved them for years
As one of the 4%, I thank you for this video. I am thankful to have a rather large frame for a woman (5'9" with a 6 1/2" wrist), as many "men's" watches fit me quite well. My sweet spot is around 36-40 mm, and I probably wouldn't go bigger than 42 mm. It would be nice to have a few smaller watches for when I want something more understated, but I have been appalled at the limited choices available in smaller sizes (say, less than 36 mm), particularly in automatics. I have no interest in a watch that is pink, blinged up with diamonds or crystals, or has a mother-of-pearl dial so shiny that I can't read the hands for all the glare. I do have the Timex Marlin Hand Wound (the original version with the silver dial and the black strap.) The Seiko Presages and the Hamilton Valiant are beautiful, and I had no idea they offered those in 34 mm size.
@@penelope-oe2vr Is 34 mm too big for you? There are a few of those available, although I wish there were more. It's risky to get into vintage, as you never know just how well (if at all) they have been cared for, but vintage men's watches were much smaller than today.
My girlfriend and I were just talking about getting her her first watch a couple days ago and then you release this video. Perfect timing! Almost suspiciously perfect timing...
Not going to lie, if I see a woman's watch that is nice and not feminine, I pull the trigger. Usually these watches are around 34-37 mm, which I think is a great classic size for men.
Tony Wong Nothing wrong with that at all. I really own mostly “mens” watches because I like the style and the fit. Watches should be like cars and shouldn’t be gendered, just come in different sizes for different taste. I think a sweet spot for most people is the 36-38mm range and of course for larger wrist they have plenty of options in the >42mm as well. I’m hoping the big watch trend dies down a little and continues to go towards classic/vintage sizing. A great thing about most of these watches is they’re not really marketed for “ladies”. Nearly every one would work on a smaller mans wrist as well. We smaller wristed people have to stick together👊🏼
@Truthfears Guilty most women's watches have been somewhat going up in size into the mid 30s. A lot of the designs are unisex so I personally feel comfortable wearing them. If they got below 33, and even then that is a bit low, I wouldn't buy them. I usually aim for 35-37, as that is my sweet spot and that is a more traditional watch size for men. Even guys like JFK and Muhammad Ali wore watches in the low 30s. I know people say lug to lug is important, but it has never been nearly as important as diameter. I tried watches that had a large diameter but short lug to lug like the Seiko bottle cap, but it still felt large and I had to sell it. But I bought a 37mm Orient president that had a large lug to lug but it still fit great for me. I even take into consideration bezel size as well, but the overall wear factor always seems to come back to diameter for me.
I was about to buy the daniel wellington 32mm classic petite watch but after watching your video i opted for the timex fairfield which i ordered an hour ago! I really liked the minimalistic look of the DW watch but a lot of reviews advised against buying any DW watches so i was looking for an affordable alternative! So happy i came across your video! The frame may be a little larger but thats fine by me, for an everyday watch that will last much longer im all in!
Thank you so much for this! As a female who is trying to start a collection and loves men's fashion, it is hard to find a good, automatic everyday watch that's not too big.
Usually they care about the simplicity of the dial. It looks more elegant and clean, balance to girls which they like. I brought her a Mido baroncelli & it's all good haha.
I bought a 50 dollar two-tone Timex watch (silver and gold in the middle) in 2016 and it is still very reliable and in perfect condition. Just changed the battery few months ago. It's a steal for me. ❤️
Also despite most audience are men, i think lots of them wanna find watches for their significant others, and hopefully get them to understand why we are so into the hobby 😂😂😂
I, for one, am very grateful for this video. Edit: I wrote the above comment at the very beginning of the video. After watching, I wanted to add that I'm so glad I found this video. I learned so much and opened the door to learning even more. Your delivery and speech is professional and easy to understand without at all feeling pressured to buy or to click anything, and was informative without feeling like you were trying to prove your knowledge by using intentionally difficult to understand language and concepts. I'm VERY new to watches but I really love them and am very interested in learning more and collecting hopefully. I appreciate this video as a way to dip my toes into the game. I don't feel like I'm being excluded from a community because of my lack of experience. It's really appreciated because starting an interest in anything like this can be very intimidating sometimes.
Finally, finally a video on women's watches :) I just graduated from buying fashion watches and now saving up to get some quality pieces (Rolex in everose is definitely my ultimate goal :D). Speaking of brands and models, it seems like not many people talk about the Citizen xC series--they currently have a line in Sakura Pink--a softer rose gold, which is only available in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong as far as I know. The one I have is FD2064-59A, with sapphire glass and part of the Eco-Drive line. Price is a bit dear for Eco-Drive, but if you are looking for that special colour there you go :) (Taiwan and Hong Kong stock the same models while Japan has a bigger variety). What do you think of Orient? I recently came across an Orient Cresent Moon with Rose Gold strap--really good price but I am still thinking if I should get it... (And as a woman, although I am not biased towards women's watches, I do want to see more videos on models aimed for women. Thank you for the video again, and I can't wait for your partner's review :)
In the name of all the women loving watches : Thanks Teddy for this video ! Altough I regret there is so much Quartz watches in your selection. Would you be able to make a selection of 100 % automatic watches for women next time ?? Looking forward to it !!
I'm so glad I found your channel! Thank you so much for having the courage to step outside of your normal target to do this video. I really appreciate the info and I hope this will turn into a series.❤
I recently bought my wife a Bulova to thank for some over and above work. She is wearing it today, so I am not sure of the model, but I think it is a Quadra. Very elegant and simple.
Thanks Teddy! I’m thinking of a watch watch for my daughter-in-law, and I find a video from the most trusted man in watches! You gave me three real solid choices I appreciate it
I second the Tissot recommendation. I got my wife the SS/white dial 30mm Le Locle automatic for Christmas. She definitely doesn’t baby it and it is holding up well.
Thanks Teddy, i had my first watch and made a good decision by watching your videos. I got the Timex just for me to start wearing and i was so satisfied and happy wearing it everyday. And planning to buy somethinh for my mom thats why i am watching yoir video. Keep up the good work my friend.
I’m a woman and I love gentlemen’s channels!! Super!!! I love watches!! My favorite are ones from Paris French brands. Bought them there!! Also a vintage Rolex I found in a thrift shop. Timex are great!! A classic. I think Seikos are boring the Mondaine is cool 😎
I was going to comment on one of your videos to ask for this. Please keep going! I am gravitating towards men's watches now due to the lack of good-looking, quality watch options that are not super boring.
I'd also recommend the originally British brand Rotary! They have good men's and women's collections. Affordable. Mostly quartz, but you're usually getting a sapphire crystal, good specs and nice designs!
Boughtt my wife a Phoibos Sea Nymph 300m dive watch in white, what a great little watch for £170 well worth a look as well, comes in 3 colours. Nice video for the Ladies, got to cover all bases...
I’m a women who watches your videos! I watch to learn and be able to gift or advise the men in my life. Thanks for making this. I’d think some men would also be interested for the women in their lives too.
Great video, I have a 24 year old daughter, a young professional, so this video was great for me. I bought her a Timex as a Graduation gift and an Orient - Charlene automatic, which we both think is the bomb! That Hamilton Valiant caught my eye, thanks, didn't know they made the Valiant in a smaller size. Thanks
William Hill Thats awesome! Timex has great value for what they are and they tend to remain in the current trends. That Hamilton is really really nice, actually, both of them are now on my list as well😊
Kat, check out the Orient Charlene automatic, it's no longer made by Orient but they are still going for around $100 a whack and the value is stellar, Thanks @@katshoulders4576
Thanks for the video. It's true that most of watches for women are not the best quality. Personally, i end up buying men's watches since they capture my style better and give me waaay more options but you talked about some really great pieces.
Certina has some nice ones. If you worship the Powermatic 80 they have those, if you want high-accuracy quartz, they almost have that with ETA PreciDrive quartz good for roughly 10 seconds a year though that’s not guaranteed.
Great video! One I think you should do a couple times a year. I would add the Oris Aquis 36mm blue dial. Probably the ultimate lady divers watch. I got my wife one and she loves it. People would be surprised as to how many women like men's style watches.
James Carter So True! The Oris is a great choice for sure and those dials are amazing! Little over the 1k pricepoint in this video but very much worth it👍🏼
We might mostly be men, but most of us have a woman in our lives we want to buy a nice watch for, thanks Teddy. I was looking for something to buy for my mum on her birthday, this was helpful.
You should make a super cool in depth budget $500 or less for women video. I would love to buy the wife a watch/watches she can accessorize with regularly! Get her her own little 5 watch collection or something! Stressing the accessorizing!!! Great stuff Teddy 👍🏻
I’ve been waiting for this video! I’m using seiko 5 snk807 and it fits my wrist and daily activity perfectly, but I’m looking for a dress watch and might be the one listed on this video. Thanks!
Tissots, Hamiltons, vintage Omegas - all fantastic womens' choices, but if you really want to limit your budget and wish for a piece to appreciate for the quality and smart design choices, I gotta say (some will frown, I'm sure) that Calvin Klein has some of the most awesome quartzes out there, really worth checking out on the used market, they go for dirt cheap and you get really good craftsmanship, ETA movement, reliable lume and a brand sitting within the Swatch group along with Tissot, Omega or Longines.
Thank you so much for this refreshing video! You made me really interested in that Marlin and Junghans 😎 sigh I own the Victorinox Inox V and I am in love with it. I have the one with the olive green dial and blue/pink/yellow details. It cost me 300$. They come in many colorways and I feel that the majority are unisex and could be worn by guys also who don't want the tank that is the men's version. I also have a men's seiko 5 that I enjoy and wear with pride.
Thank you Teddy for the great review! You have shown us some cool ladies watches. P.s A big thank you to Kat - A girl and her watches who's Instagram page I found and she told us to look out for this video! Her watch collection is just amazing and it aspires me as a lady to be interested in watches.
Great video, structured, thoughtful and nicely linked. I'm new to automatics and researching a present for the better half: You have been very helpful and educational. Thank you
Ted, these are all kind of big watches, like a watch guy picked them out. Getting them an SKX is sort of like buying her a bowling ball with your initials on it. (Bad idea) Maybe they have to be big for an auto but some women have small wrists.
Vintage is the way! Just got my wife a near 50 year old manual wind Citizen, needed a bit of polish but for equivalent of $10 it’s a great thing, no date so easy to pick up quick wind set the time and away you go. Also the Timex Mercury/Marlin vintage watches. On the new watch front for a sports watch Baby G... At the other end of the scale Women’s Rolex seem to be great value compared with the men’s
I’m in the 4% I guess lol. Thank you for making this though, it was especially helpful for a few automatic suggestions since those are hard to find in the women’s lines.
Hello. Enjoyed your ladies watch video. Would love to see one on ladies tank watches. Can you suggest a nice one with a leather strap in a lower price range? Thank you!
I appreciate beautiful crafted watches and all their technology but I still want diamonds or zirconia for sparkle without it being too tacky looking. 💎😊 These watches in your video need more sparkle for me 😂 but love that you talk about watches for ladies with just as many tech specs and details as you do for men's. I want to know the details but still Have a sparkly watch. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve got a Zenith Elite 36mm and a Nomos Metro Neomatik. Both fantastic watches! Wouldn’t mind adding a Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer, there is something very appealing with that one! ☺️
I ran into a woman at my work wearing a SKX013. It looked great on her, not that she needed any help in that regard. Women wearing tool watches get a thumbs up from me. Also great recommendation on that Stowa
Thanks so much for the video. You’re right that there’s a lot of hideous watches for women out there. I simply need an every day watch with clean (or even retro) lines, decent build and water resistant at a reasonable price and not a flashy, sparkly here today gone tomorrow fashion watch. I would also be interested in affordable watches that women can wear in the evening if there are such things.
There is not enough informative content on RU-vid about women's watches, I hope you make a 2020 version of this (or any women-related) because heaven knows other videos would only recommend fashion watches without providing educational content
Thank you so much for this video focusing on women's watches. This video might be the gateway to your untapped audience - the remaining 96 percent of women out there ;-)
Thanks for the video, is great information! You know, I am Casio Watches Fan, and notice very few people talk about Casio Ladies watches. They're Awesome! My GF asked why, I also wonder why..Please share some Casio Ladies versions, please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’m female, but I hate “female” watches. Too much bling and skinny straps. I have a Timex Marlin (reissue) for work wear and a Seiko 5 SNK 803 for casual wear. Love them both. I feel that’s all I need although, a vintage Rolex would be awesome, but not within my budget. 😉 I enjoy these videos as I am fascinated with watches. I think they’re interesting and very well made. Thanks!
Aha, got to love the Bauhaus Design language. As an industrial design student, the Bauhaus School of Design is a prevalent mention and an aspiration to reach.
