Thanks a lot for the great overview, man! I'm very excited about the layout squares. I currently use the stainless version of the bench squares. I bought the set and I love the smaller one and keep it in my apron pocket and use it on every project. I think the 7" layout square will be my next one as I think I would use it the most and I already have the 12" Woodpecker's square for when I occasionally need it. Congrats on 50k! - Joe
I like the fixed miter feature of the bench squares, but can't seem to find them anywhere online. did they discontinue the 3" and 6" set you show? The only thing online is the 4" and 7" set....
Are they calibrated the same? In other words, if i measured 3 9/16" on one measuring tool (let's say combination square) and switched to another igauge (ie layout square), would i get the same measurement?
Great review! Been looking for an alternative to Woodpecker. Commenting because the lines you drew with the triangles look slightly non parallel. Maybe its the camera perspective. Can you confirm they're perfectly square?
The Layout Squares are very popular and since posting this video they have become temporarily out of stock. I'm sure more will be available soon! In the mean time ... im giveing away a set of the layout squares. You can enter for your chance to win them!
Thanks for the video. These tools look like they are of good quality. This company says they are American on their about us page and that it's operated by Anytime Inc, but I have a suspicion that it's merely a distribution center. In other words, I suspect that they are not actually American at all. Just food for thought.
@@PatriotDIY Thanks for the reply, but how do you know this? I visited their website and it does not elaborate much on this topic. Did they contact you and communicate this to you?
@abelesparza6059 Here's a comment from the company "Both squares are designed here in San Clemente California. It's made in our facilities in China and Taiwan"
I ordered the layout square set from IGaging - the larger 12 inch square was off by over 1/8 of an inch. Totally unbelievable after paying 135 CAD for the set. Treid calling dealing with thier customer service but they spoke very poor English. I wouldn't recomend this product or company
@@PatriotDIY I compared it to other squares I have but the most obvious test was comparing the small square to the larger one - I can send pics if you are interested
Its an overview of the product that I think is a good alternative to woodpeckers with demonstrations of its features and accuracy testing.....what else did you expect when you clicked on a video titled "Affordable Woodpeckers Alternative / iGaging Layout Tools" ??
