INGREDIENTS:
Plain Flour 1/2 cup
Whole-Wheat Flour 2 cups
Dry Yeast 1 1/2 yeast
Salt 1 teaspoon
Butter (Melted) 5 tablespoons
Water (Warm) 1 cup
For the Glaze:
Plain Flour 1 tablespoon
Water 1/3 cup
For Topping:
Sesame seeds

Cut the bread in rectangular pieces. Put it in the freezer, when hungry or need snack toast it in the toaster put cheese spread and eat it. And remember me. !

I love this sort of bread! Must try this recipe myself! I thought a tandoori oven was necessary to get the nice chewy texture and lovely taste?

If you place a bowl of water inside of the oven it will give a nice texture

thank you for the inspiration, I made it with sourdough starter as I'm not using baker yeast any more in my baking, the method was perfect, I made 2 plain and 1 filled with cheese and all brushed after baked with purified butter and dried thyme (za'ater) .. if you have instagram account i'd like to tag you on the post

Salaams, very simple recipe. Just the way I like it. I tried this however, but the dough didn't rise that much. I think you put more than 1/2 cup regular flour. It certainly appears that way in the video. Can you confirm this please?

+zniaz wsalam, I have used exactly the same amount I specified in the video. If the dough didn't rise properly it is because of the yeast u have used or the environment you put the dough to rise.

Yes but I usually leave mine in fridge in the warmer weather and take it out 1 hour before starting to cook

Yes you can use regular flour. Wrap in the plastic bag and freeze them. Once you want to use it just warm them in the toaster or microwave

Try to roll and flat the dough thicker and place a bowls of water inside of the oven while you are baking the bread

Can someone help me out....I have tried this bread like 2 times and each time my bread comes really hard and dry. Also I put it in 356 F(180c) in the center of oven. For 25 to 35 mins. But always my bread looks uncooked and super hard and dry. Please tell me what's my mistake.

Does your dough double in size beautifully? If so then do not roll the dough thin! Divide the dough into dough balls and let it rest for 15 min then flat the dough by your hand 🖐 do not use rolling dough. Try to flatten thick not thin. Then bake in preheated oven at 190’C until lightly brown. Place a bowl of water under the bread while it’s baking. Good luck

First thing I learnt about bread is NEVER allow the salt and yeast to come into contact like that, it kills the yeast😕

Yes it depends how much salt you add in how much flour. I never had any problems and in some of my recipes I can’t do that but again it depends how much of it I’m using!!!

I made this & it doesn’t taste like the restaurant style Kandahari naan. It tasted more like thick roti due to the higher ratio of whole wheat flour. Will have to try another recipe cuz this didn’t cut it

Hi question I have heated it on 180 for more than 30 min but it looks raw and have taken it to 400 now but it looks raw and it like an hour, what could be the problem!

+sunny copper it might be the oven or you haven't let the dough to double in size. If that happen maybe try cook it on the pan on the stove and see how you go

hi. in your recipe list there is mistake .I think, 1 and half tea spone , not yeast. you wrote twice yeast. .

I tried to make this recipe twice. Both times the dough didn’t rise in the oven it - so I’m certain the problem is with the recipe (not with me). I think 1.5 teaspoons of yeast is NOT enough. If you’re trying to make this, use an entire packet of Activated dry yeast (2.25 teaspoons). Otherwise, your bread will come out of the oven hard like a matzo.
