Erik are you nuts? Why are you showing us that fake information since that were other Afghans who really hates the Taliban and actually fought against them and why are the Afghan people are actually fleeing the country? It’s because they don’t want to live under the brutality of the Taliban and if they stay then the Taliban fighters would kill, rape and physically abused them and I don’t blame them for wanting to be evacuated from Afghanistan!
@@robertcisneros2303 Those numbers are real, but that doesn't give any reason the Taliban can be a thing long-term. Most countries that want to implement sharia actually have a military dictatorship, because soldiers can't stand the stupidity of the average Ali. Aside from that, Afghanis have no clue what a proper functioning government actually is. On average they change regime like every decade the last two centuries.
I keep returning to this song because it shows how much the modern world has fallen. We should have continued fighting until the Taliban is defeated then leave. That is my thoughts. I belong to the authoritarian right and if you have questions I am willing to answer them here.
This song for some reason just makes me think of family issues. But over all issues in the world. It’s haunting. When you close you eyes and listen it’s scary cause you get the sense of seeing the world problems unfold right in front of you Even the lyrics make you think about things in your life.
They should normalize army songs into the mainstream, it actually reflects really well on current situations EDIT: I know it won't work well considering politics and societal change but military music cool

There is another mistake tho, when they sing "témoins de notre passage" (witnesses to our passage) the subtitles say "témoins de votre passage" (witnesses to your passage) and it doesn't make sense with the rest of the song.
I cried when I read the Wikipedia page for the Republic of Afghanistan last night. It was in past tense. Afghanistan as we knew it, is past tense. In this community we surround ourselves with countries and history - we're all well aware of changes in governments and borders. But most of us were too young to have seen it first hand. The last major example was South Sudan, back in 2011. How many of us knew anything about the world 10 years ago? I'd take a guess at saying barely anyone. Afghanistan has fallen. Their flag, their anthem, everything about them will change. It's honestly quite overwhelming coming from the perspective of an outsider. It's a reminder that the world is not static, the world still changes. History is still being written.
I had the same feeling tbh. This is the first time I saw a country being overthrown Afghanistan is pretty close to where I live and Afghan cricketers are pretty popular here. The fact that the flag, state and the team will no longer exist feels depressing

This song has the flavour of the chivalry of the middle ages, juxtaposed with the firearms and uniforms of the modern French army. It's kind of unsettling, especially with the unstable situation in Afghanistan. It's upsetting in a way a happy song or even a sad song or even a horrible song can never be, because beauty and horror shouldn't go together, any more than hope and despair.
We romantize middle age chivalry. That was a very bloody era. Good news is that, humanity glorify good valors to this day, in our pervert societies. Never lost hope. About french military and song, that's a very old tradition link to history. Fascinating, and full of storys.

@@biodidu25 Okay. I don't know, there's a chance our views are not that different. I can say that when I made the first post about dignity for all, I just meant to disagree with the implication of the OP that we owe nothing to countries other than our home country. I wasn't trying to be lax or relaxed (the correct words, by the way, not laxist). That seems to agree with what you're saying, since my point was that an atrocity is still an atrocity even if it does not affect France at all. The argument that there shouldn't be intervention since it's a foreign affair was also made during the World Wars in America, and look what would've happened to half the world if America didn't intervene. So that's what I mean by giving the devil his due. As far as being in the real - maybe the correct expression is "don't live in your own little world" or "don't put your head in the sand" - I believe Western societies have the right to self-defense. But I wonder if some of the policies they/we have adopted, are really motivated by self-defense or if they're more about deception. If you play the Quebecois video game Assassin's Creed, and think deeply about it, you'll see that they explored these themes well. It seems to me that the cultural exploration of Arabs and Islam then, during the Iraq war, was better than the attempts to be "diverse" nowadays, and Assassin's Creed especially proves this. I recommend it over the rest of the series, which changed the whole subject.
