Davey Havok and Jade Puget's electronic side-project, Blaqk Audio, was never looking for acceptance from fans-it was a natural progression as their musical tastes evolved. In this interview, Jade explains why "Love Like Winter" was originally intended to be a Blaqk Audio song and Davey comments on how the new record has changed both thematically and sonically. This is the first time I actually see Jade talking. I'm glad they did Love Like Winter with AFI, I like the song how it is, with the electronics but also the guitars and drums.

Same I think Decemberunderground took AFI in a new musical direction compared to Sing the Sorrow. "Love Like Winter" was best fit for AFI in my opinion.

I remember back when Blaqk Audio was still a rumor, I always thought it would sound like the second verse in Death of Seasons

I remember the day Bitter for Sweet came out. I had a feeling it would sound like VNV nation mixed with AFI. I was pleasantly surprised.

Jade and Davey are awesome. It took them 15 years to get to the top, then after the mainstream let them go all the diehard fans still stuck around...through it all they are still making music as simply friends.

love love like winter.. one of the best songs I feel they've created with many elements mixed together. I'm glad they put it on decemberunderground. when you're cool, you're just cool. and they're cool. afi + blaqk audio😎.

Well, thats only one song, and that album, Only things we love and Black Palms are all extremely sexually repressed.

@@jigan001 Yes and no. I would argue Material is somewhat straightlaced, Only Things We Love is even more asexual, then Black Palms is about the same level as Material. For Black Palms, Hiss is definitely sexual and Fish Bite strikes me as very sweet though oblique. Black Palms is less openly sexual than Material though, more playing with the overall vibes. None the less, the whole back half of the Blaqk Audio catalogue is still way sexier than any other Havok/Puget work

@@AggressiveTendencies Decemberundeground is one of their BEST albums... very well written, produced and it has the best sound for sure... nice punchy and warm at the same time... you can hear the hard work behind that record....love that album... crash love is great too... amazing guitar work on that one
