A look at the new sliders in AFL 23, which landed in the April 23,2024 update. In this video I go through where the sliders are, how to change them, and more importantly, what each of the sliders do to affect the game.

Great vid - the one thing that needs splitting is the tackle distance - needs to be one for human tackle distance, and AI tackle distance. Had this in Evo 2, and it really allowed for players to find the perfect balance, which they could tweak as they improved to make it feel "equal"

After I played around with the tackle sliders I noticed either A) how bad I am at tackling or B) how bad the tackling despite the sliders are in this game, feels like before the sliders I was able to tackle better. I dont know if that makes sense.

@@TomCruiseRisky there are different types of tackle. Tapping Triangle does a weak tackle and the tacker is trying to knock the ball out. More chance of the tackled player can get a kick, get a handpass out, or break the tackle. Holding Triangle is a stronger tackle and has a higher chance to wrap up the ball with the ball carrier. L2 and Triangle is a super strong tackle that will smash a player to the ground. This is alot of fun, but has much higher chance of causing a free kick against. Apologies if you already knew this info.

I've watched a few of your videos now, content like this is really good, explaining how to set up or play the game. As someone who has been doing GTA content here on YT for about 18 months, i think you should focus more on guide type content to help grow your channel, i think you have the potential to get a really big following and reach monetisation status here but imo some of your content is too short, these types of videos you should upload as shorts rather than regular videos. I'm going to give your channel a shout out in a future video i do, i just need to figure out the right video to shout out an AFL game considering most of my subs are American and following me because i do GTA content lol. Keep up the good work dude.👍

Thanks mate, I appreciate it. I’m not really pushing to get to monetisation status, but happy to put up some shorts and see if it’s helps more people out. I’ve got some thoughts on other explainer videos I want to do… so I’ll see how those go.

@saintskeeta1054 you should dude, I haven't played this game much before coming across your channel because how bad the game was before the most recent update, but after both that update and your videos I not only found the game playable, but also enjoyable for the first time since I bought it nearly a year ago.

Which tactic if any effects when your kicking on the run but keep getting caught? I’ve tried tackle distance, pressure awareness, ball spills and nothing seems to change it

That’s really part of the game. Deciding if you have enough space to kick it or not. (See my other video on Options when Tackled). You could also try and drop the AI sprint speed so they’re less likely to catch you… or speed up the kick meter (on the run goal and field kick). Hope this helps.
