these were the days when footy was unreal, they started to get into the fitness a bit more and yet still had that mongrel about them. What sweet memories
I played tennis and basketball here in Australia for many years. I never played Australian Rules football as shown in this video. But let me tell you, once you understand what is going on in the game, you realise this is the greatest spectator sport in the world. This is the best sport to WATCH in the world. It has all the best elements of other sports. If you ever come to Melbourne, Australia, be sure to watch a game! Best wishes.
I agree with you! I wish i lived during the early 80s and 90s and watched the AFL. Everybody had personalities and seemed more 'human' and 'unique'....and a lot of people were thick-skinned and less sensitive. But society in general is changing, not just AFL and It's sad what the world has become..
He get suspended for weeks. The Bombers guy is like shaking his hands around. What'ya reckon' the Essendon guy was doing. 1:51 he was trying to get the ump to see that it was a goal!
There was plenty over the years, some were known to jump the fence and have it out with loud mouthed spectators. It may well be more professional now but i really miss the characters, you just never knew what to expect. Have a look at some of Mark "jacko" Jackson he was a classic
Were there more characters just like BT? I wish i lived during those days, everybody seemed entertaining and had personality. I agree with you, when you look at the video you wouldn't believe was like that while playing AFL but he's such a great guy. Only other person i can think of that goes insane like that is Barry Hall, but doesn't seem as charismatic and humorous.. sigh
@THMulder i dont think the passion is missing from the game. just with the scrutiny within media and the emphasis on club image, doing this kinda thing would cop criticism
