I wouldn't take any notice of a moron like Garry Lyon after what he did to Billy Brownless. Don't think Lyon ever publicly apologised for what he did to Billy. You don't do that to a mate.
He also said richmond would win one which they did a couple years later and said the pies were closert to a flag than north which again they played in 2 prelims and a gf since and north haven't.
I mean they were only a few goals away from a Grand Final in 2015 and were beating West Coast for most of that game, to say they weren’t close is outrageous. It’s the same as saying teams like Collingwood right now aren’t playing to win the flag and only to win a final or 2. They won’t win a flag with their current team but it’s silly to suggest they aren’t even trying.

Yep, unfortunately some poor decisions that were made not too long after that clip came out (2015 I think) in hindsight set the club back years. I personally think it started with that big culling of the list around 2016-17. Particularly Boomer that one hurt the most I think, even in his final game he still played well. I know the whole 'one more year' thing gets thrown around a lot, but if anyone could have gone another year or two it was him. It would have been better to have had some of those vets around to start the rebuild then have them retire graciously, but they let it be mostly kids and that I think decimated the culture. Then of course they brought in two coaches (Shaw & Noble) who really were not up to the job. I also think the president & CEO weren't up to it, Ben Amarfio (who was the boss of MMM who James Brayshaw obviously works for which is interesting) might have been a good radio boss but I don't think he was up to being a footy CEO. I personally wish Sonia Hood had brought Peter Jackson in, but I could understand him not wanting to do it. And finally, the Horne-Francis fiasco. I personally think he probably always wanted to stay in SA, so it's impossible to say whether or not he would have gone back eventually. But the club also handled it terribly, they only just got 'the next Wayne Carey' in the door and they more or less pushed him out. I hope you guys are on a better path under Clarko.
Yep, north were perennial middle of the roaders. People say they're a shambles now, but they needed to finally bottom out to give themselves a real crack at a flag.
He certainly picks his targets. Gary likes having a bit both ways, he'll never say what what he really thinks cos he's terrified it will be at odds with public sentiment. I don't know what else he brings to tv/radio besides predictability.

Hutchy was spot on Gary just a goose response. Time resolves every argument and Gary got it so wrong and Hutchy so right maybe thats why Hutchy is now Garys boss at SEN.

I like Garry but I'm in complete agreement with the other guy, not saying she can't move on or he can't even move on from his ex if he wants to, but that is complete and utter poor form to move on to your best mates ex and mother of his children mind you. He did. He said he would refund the money in the case of hardship but the club is also doing it tough so please only ask for your money back if you really really need it.

That’s why he said talk to your club if you’re in financial hardship, so then not every Tom dick and harry who are doing just fine don’t come asking for the refund Eddie promised on the news…
