Impressive how quickly Port jumped to almost the same level as a composite club. Can also see Eagles shoot up after crows, likely because SA coming in pumped up WA as well
@@stoodyismydadagreed. Port crowds drop right off when they're down the bottom but all come back when they are up....i remember when koche first took over he was begging fans to come back so they can get rid of the tarps....🤣🤣🤣🤣 The supporters of that club have too be the most fickle.
@@bunthoeunhas549Yes but still so much division over which is considered the national game. You'd think people would be fans of both sports but that isn't the case
Before the introduction of the giants in 2012 the Swans had 33,000 members - as of today the two Sydney clubs combined have nearly 110k - some still from Melbourne, some from the ACT (about 9k) - but still the growth is extraordinary. People who rag on what the Giants have achieved in only a decade should ponder these charts.
I like how everyone who wins a flag gains members, but then there is Carlton who wins the wooden spoon in 2018 and breaks it membership tally the following in 2019, has now 95k without achieving anything. So if they win a flag, going by the history of other teams they will surpass everyone significantly
Collingwood came second last in 2021 so that's not true because they are now not only the biggest AFL club but also one of the biggest memberships of any sporting club on the planet
Incredible to see the loyalty of the West Coast supporters. Our memberships have been skyrocketing despite our last few seasons being the worst in our history.
@@k0des - You are wrong, I have been following Richmond for 50 years & they draw crowds even when they are crap. Other teams such as NM, Hawthorn, Footscray, South Melbourne, Fitzroy & The Bears could not do this.
@k0des they started blowing up in 2012 before they even made finals plus every single team on this list had a jump in memberships during premiership years it just so happened Richmond have a ton of supporters
Richmond hit 100,000 members in 2017 after finishing 13th in 2016 . That's loyalty. Wet toast includes pet membership and I can understand why , considering the amount of seeing eye dogs needed . Collingwood members get two for ( a two head thing )
Richmond and their supporters were insignificant for 3 decades. A little success and the supporters get a little chirpy. Let’s see exactly how successful your club is and how loyal your supporters are once you spend a few years in the cellar.
@@stevenreed5514 there were 54 thousand people at the G watching them win a flag over 120 years ago, they've always had a massive supporter group and just like every other club on the list, the memberships grew exponentially during premiership years.
This makes me proud to to be a crows supporter, the fact that there was more members for 2 SA teams than all the others is a testament to our passion, we got the best rivalry in the comp
Every club records its memberships in the same way. They all try to make them as high as possible. The AFL makes the final recordings of membership levels so take it up with them. The numbers are what they are. West Coast Eagles supporters are the most loyal. Don't hate us for that.
