Very nicely compiled with a wonderful intro... well done, Mark! I purchased the product on the day it was launched and though I've only concentrated on flying in the Southern African region (Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe) at the moment am very impressed. Still much too discover...

Late to this one . Another very well made video . A very comprehensive face lift of a very large land mass . It certainly adds a lot of extra visual detail . I wouldn`t be surprised if your video has converted a lot of maybe purchasers into definite buyers . Very polished and always an honest appraisel from yourself . Keep up the good work .

I loved your video its like a movie. Great and artistic presentation. Orbx always does a good job when it is for the landscapes, the mountains, valleys but for the cities it is rudimentary and for the bodies of the rivers, lakes, road, etc. it is a little cut with a knife if I can express myself thus. It must be said that modeling a continent like Africa is a big challenge. Our world is somewhat paralyzed by the pandemic and the wait for FS2020 does the same for the simulation. I have almost all the generic products from Orbx as well as several airports, I have no more money that I have put and I do not regret it. But like many others I will see if FS2020 keeps its promises for VFR flights. As for long haul P3D and even FSX do their job well I bought so many beautiful airliners :) I cant wait for your next vidéo Master SimHanger !

Hello SIMHANGER: I'm 9 days late on viewing your vid. Excellent as always! Beautiful I thought I was watching a travel advertisement! I think this would be a great addition to my scenery library, but i'm on the fence about new addon purchases due to all the upcoming changes with FS2020 and with this new version 5 for P3D. Thank you for taking the time to make all the vids you provide. Please continue with well thought out commentaries and presentations. Please stay safe during this troubling season.

Wasn’t going to buy this any time soon, but probably will do now - what beautiful scenery. I spent a couple of weeks in SA in 2004 including a weekend with some SAAF colleagues in the Veldt well north of Pretoria. Sat by a fire at night watching all the eyes watching us ! Mind you, the only music for this is the wonderful theme by John Barry. Nice video Mark Thanks Chris

Hi Mark, as ORBX Africa is not yet available for XP, there's nothing really for me to get excited about, but I just wanted to say that your video editing skills are a wonder to behold and very slick. Beautifully produced video. Thank you. Cape Town and Kilimanjaro stand out to me. It seems they have been given custom photo realistic textures. Desert textures seem great too. Namibia would be another great place to explore. I purchased the product on day 1 but haven’t installed it yet as I’m not at home. One aspect not often thought about or well understood is the autogen trees algorithms and data that are associated with land class textures. It seems some effort has been made regarding autogen buildings but what about the trees? For example, are the trees more or less correct for the African landclass textures? Do savanna areas have appropriate African trees and would indigenous looking trees be found in the bushveld (e.g. Kruger National Park). I am hoping that, at least, I won’t be finding northern hemisphere fir or pine trees in indigenous bush areas! Would be great to know your thoughts as, judging by your accent, you must be from Southern Africa? A last comment is that I’m hoping more effort has gone into OpenLC Africa than went into Global Vector (at least for the African continent) as the ORBX Vector detail for Africa leaves much to be desired compared to freeware Vector detail like that provided by Aeroworx. Coastline and river details, for example are very poor with ORBX Vector and I still use Aeroworx (even in P3Dv4) for Southern Africa. Cheers.

Rhett Kelly , hi Rhett, whilst having been in the UK for the past 16 years, most of my life was spent in Africa, mainly in Zimbabwe. The tree types are more accurate, broadly speaking to suit, but this package does not address building types, that is another add on - Orbx buildings HD. What it does do more accurately is depict those areas in terms of building density etc. Thanks for your kind comments. Take care. Regards

SimHanger Flight Simulation thanks! I too grew up in Zimbabwe but have lived in SA for over 35 years now. So pleased to see some effort going into Africa. I am however hugely looking forward to MS2020 as it seems this will be the ultimate in realism. Hopefully the data for Africa is good as it would truly be awesome flying over the Okavango, Victoria Falls, Lake Kariba, Lower Zambezi, The Great Rift Valley, etc. ! Can’t wait.

Pete Michel , hi Pete, this upgrade is the best available for P3D and FSX users currently available, but yes your right, MSFS knocks it out of the ball park.
