I would say that sound is actually more important than vision. We can tolerate an average bit of vision as long as the sound is good. I turn off videos after a few seconds if the sound sucks.

Isn't it just like high end headphones, you don't really need them,they are better but not that much better for the premium you pay, they're overpriced but people want them and pay for them helping new technologies evolve and eventually trickle down to lower budget headphones.

As much as I enjoy rewatching what I consider to be one of your finest series - 11 minutes in, and the fourth (!) in-stream ad starts. That's a bit over the top. I'm out.

I do so agree. RU-vid is now out of control. They have taken control away from the producers.

@@overlandworkshop To be clear, I'm not against ads as such - the only alternatives are probably content producers paying for hosting, or a paywall. But RU-vid is certainly not out of control: I keep seeing half-hour videos with no in-stream ads (e.g. Venture4WD). And… there is Vimeo.
