African Creation Story from the Akan People of Ghana - Origin of Mankind/ Universe (Myth & Folklore) 

This is one of several creation stories told by the Akan people of West Africa. The Akan people are found primarily in present day Ghana as well part of Ivory Coast and Togo. They have a rich culture of story telling which was for the purposes of oral history, entertainment and as a method of teaching. This is their story of the origin of the universe.
This story describes how 'Nyame' created the earth and it's first inhabitants.
