My father is African American and my mother is an Irish immigrant. This music makes me so proud of my race, thank you so much for this wonderful music!
I'm of Irish ancestry, a year after I came out of my tour of Kosovo as a soldier, I had the privilege of jamming with a Mozambican band who played the traditional drums and instruments, I play harmonica and 22 years later it is still the best time playing music I have ever had. Words can't explain how great an experience I had jamming with musicians better than I could ever hope to be.
Saw this live last November in London. I am an old fart, 68, and I have seen them all. Stones, Beach Boys, Floyd, Sabbath etc. I can honestly next to the mighty Zep these dudes come a very close second. Their gigs are just the best fun night out ever. If you leave the gig without a very wide grin on your face, you need help!
Here's how music cuts across geographical boundaries and enters people''s hearts. Excellent sound, excellent numbers picked. Hi Johnny plays Tabla too. Am from India
What I really love about Afro Celt is not just their fantastic music, but the fusion of races, creed and colours brought together into one amazing world/universal sound. Perhaps, the nations of the world could learn a lot of good things about themselves if they could come together in the incredibly positive way these class musicians do!

You all prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Thatcher Amari i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Just saw the band at the Fairport Festival in the pouring rain. They produced so much energy and joy that I stayed through their entire set and danced. It was perfect
I love these guys, a fav for me in this post is at 4.27 when the drummer stealths out from the back as if to say 'right boys check this out' - & then a fellow drummer warms up his hands at 4.55ish as if to say 'no bad neebs now check this' all for a great live show of course - everyone giving their all & having a blast - needs a bit of shred guitar too, maybe next time!
I looove this band, the Afro Celtic Sound System band since I saw them live in Dublin, Ireland 20 years ago. I have all their music and If you like this piece, you'll like all their other music too. It's like a drug in me, I get a high listening to their music. I'm glad they're still around. I would go see them any where if I knew where they're playing at. They have their fan club too. They're an amazing group of musicians and you could not find another band like this, I know I haven't! Enjoy!
Holy shit, what a wonderful combination os genres and cultures. Discovered these guys today and am loving it. Can't help but wonder how awesome it would be to see them play with Shpongle.
This music was played a lot when I was only very young (3 years old or something). Now I'm 17 and when I listen to it again it very nearly makes me cry.
+NextGen Rager your comment is music to my ears!! My own kids have listened to me playing AfroCelts aka AfroCelticSoundSystem or have heard me referring to them (during the years they were in Rebellion against my music...lol) for about 17 years. You give me hope that one day they will appreciate them as much as I do! I had "Release" played at my brother's funeral at procession as people were leaving and on their way to cemetery. It was a great opportunity also for people to hear ACSS and what an awesome song! I also would love that song played one day at mine.
i was just reunited with Deep channel after like 10 years of not hearing it and I'm very happy I finally found out what the song was called because I used to absolutely LOVE that song. Probably wasnt 10 years ago but it feels like a lifetime ago
Have been a huge fan for over 20 years. Regretfully missed their last tour to the States many years ago and they haven't been back since. Hopefully with the upcoming new release will come another tour to the U.S. I won't miss them the next time.
We should all be so fortunate to have a magical person in our lives, especially one whose magic opens our eyes to unexpected beauty. This performance is definitely on the other side of our everyday world.

Ohhh My!!! I have been trying to find a substantial live performance for years.... this is so good. Hopefully I will see them live at Boomtown this year!... Wooooottt!
It was the Pc game Magic & Mayhem released in 1998 by Mythos games and programmed by the legendary Julian Gallop responsible for X-Com & Chaos series of games that got me in Afro Celt Sound system and I'm so thankful as this Bands unique sound has no rival to date....❤️
AFRO CELT SOUND SYSTEM -WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL POLAND 2015 is a huge, one of the biggest, summer, open-air rock festival in the world, three-day , ticket-free. ....held at 30.07.2015- 01.08.2015 ... 2014 - 750.000 people!!!!!
Whenever I hear "Deep Channel" i think how hard that would be to play live. And here we are and it sounds exactly like on the record. Outstanding performance! RIP Simon Emmerson 😕
This is one of things I miss about moving down under, no good bands, no good festivals like in the UK and Ireland, I’d love to see these lads and levellers etc on a regular
Just found this. Thanks for uploading. Loved this band for years, but this is the best video I've seen. Unlikely to see them live in Australia, although I did see James many years ago when he was with Dingle Spike.
It always blows my mind that there is, invariably, someone who clicks the "thumbs down" button! It just shows me that there are people in the world who are insensitive...or something!
Ok it’s not the big production show from Switzerland 7 years ago posted above ; we hadn’t played or rehearsed together for 2 years due to lockdown restriction , but hey it was just so great to be back performing together at the wonderful Shrewsbury Folk Festival in the U.K. August 2021 . So here’s the full unedited live set . We loved this gig so much ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q4QG0BryZus.html
New for 2016..... Live performance DVD at Woodstock festival 2015 and of course, Born, the new album. visit www.afroceltsoundsystem.com for official news and events.
what's the dynamic? who writes the songs? what influence does everyone have, how much can each writer claim control over the song? how are setlists chosen? Do none of the members particularly care and it comes naturally??
