iirc the best part about Afro decapitating the kid when he finally comes for him, is that by that point in his life he was miserable and frankly wanted to die, but his reflexes and instincts have been so honed and warped by his life of carnage and revenge that going for a instant kill is a instant subconscious reaction for him by that point.

Samuel L. Jackson also could've been the Japanese VA for Afro and Ninja Ninja since he speaks Japanese. Shichigoro's death could've been avoided if he just willingly gave Afro the number 2 headband without fighting and made a plan to hide the number 1 and number 2 headbands with Afro.

Anyone who's holding the #2 will automatically make you a target for damn near everyone else. You can try to give it up, but it's clear in Afro'a case that it's a slightly selfish motive. I say slightly due to killing a man for a cloth to get your target when you should've just went after them, regardless.

Fun fact: in the video game the ending is completely different from the show even ninja ninja says it's ain't like the show at the end of game when afro gose to fight justice he finds out that justice had died years after he killed Afro's father but he starts to hallucinate begins to think he's fighting justice after he came to his senses he takes both headbands and starts to reflect on his journey so instead of taking the numer 1 headband he abandoned both headbands ( I'm probably remembering wrong but the games ending is different from the show)

Hold up... This where the anime and manga differ. In the anime, Ninja Ninja was portrayed more like a physical manifestation of Afro's trauma as a kid. In the manga, hes depicted as the protector of the number 2 headband, and theres another dude who I forgot the name, and he was the protector of the number 1 headband....😅😅😅😅 Afro Samurai is one of my favorite franchises, been a long time since I read the manga but just rewatched the show.... and I have the show and movie on dvd. 😅

For one the cast was mad stacked. You had Lucy Liu in the movie as well as Liam O'Brien(Gaara)and Zachary Gordon(Greg from original Diary of a Wimpy Kid). The main series had Ron Perlman(Hellboy and Slade), Phil Lamarr(Green Lantern and Static), Yuri Lowenthal(Sasuke and Spider-Man), and T.C Carson (Kratos before Chris Judge).

Afro Samurai and Huey from boondocks were the reason I wanted to grow a fro as a kid. One of the reasons I loved the show was because Samuel l Jackson an the fact ninja ninja my favorite character was actually afros actual thoughts an feelings in all these scenes while being calm an composed on the outside. The theme of his dad being Soul/R&B music while Number 2 was rock am afro is hip-hop was great
