I'm from Brazil and I've listened Afroman for the first time in my last year of high school. Back then people only knew "Because I've Got High" and it was mostly something to joke around about smoking weed. People liked it, but it was mostly something to have a good time. Most people here don't speak English enough to understand the lyrics, so the other tracks were mostly nice beats, but I could understand the lyrics and i've followed Afroman's work all these years thinking how someone could have such spirit do make fun of some true hardships in life and go on making something people can truly enjoy. This was strongly reaffirmed in the Adam's County Sheriff and the lemon pound cake saga. I'm sure many people here would really connect to your work and see you as someone they would like to hang out with and talk to if they had the opportunity to stop and really appreciate what you say in your lyrics and think about what combination of spirit and life experiences is necessary to make work as the one you did, you do and you'll keep doing. I love your work, I appreciate your character as a person and you were never a One Hit Wonder to me.
