⭐⭐⭐ I would feel so overwhelmed by PR, and in general, I think it contributes heavily to the consumerist and almost fast-fashion mindset of the beauty community now. I'm glad some influencers are choosing to pare down, so thanks for doing your paring down on camera!
First off, I LOVE your decluttters! I rewatch your old ones. Please film it! As far as PR goes, it really depends on the person. I feel some just don't think about the cost to quality. Some may think it's a good product, but aren't thinking about the $100 price tag because they didn't spend that money on it. I trust your opinion regardless of if you bought it or not. Keep being you! ❤

I completely agree on people who review PR items don’t consider price. Like they’ll rave about like a $80 palette BUT would they think it’s so amazing if they considered that it’s $80?! I feel like so many don’t. At most (the honest ones) are reviewing it based on the quality of it. But to me, price also factors into quality of an item. Something that I spend $20 on vs something I spent $80 - needs to be vastly different in quality! It needs to be worth $80. Not just good but good and worth the price! If that makes sense 😅
THIS! Absolutely! An $80 face palette can be amazing, but how much better is it than a $20 drugstore palette? For the average consumer, that’s 2-3 hours of work for that difference so I totally agree with your point. And I don’t think a $20 product should need to be labeled as affordable to be mentioned. Money doesn’t = quality, I would think influencers (not talking about Jessica at all) would see this.
@@alliebrewer4229 you just absolutely nailed it!! I compare high end product prices to mortgage payments, utility bills, monthly grocery costs or how many tanks of gas for my vehicle. Not that the hourly wage comparison isn't a great one--it is fantastic, but just another day to day life way to explain to those in the nosebleeds. Thank you for the chuckle!
@@nunya7366 yes, absolutely! Especially with the cost of purely essential things, it’s definitely a good comparison to make. Sometimes the value I get from a product with a higher price tag is totally worth it, other times the value isn’t as much in comparison to what other things I could be doing with that $. I also never pay full price for anything, whether that’s front end on sales or cash back, promos, card incentives etc. so I do think there’s a way to be smart about it in that way too!

💄For the makeup collection declutter - I enjoyed how Taylor Wynn included it in a vlog when she donated her collection! We saw the sheer volume of products being donated and got a peek at what all was in there. But she didn't have to go item by item showing us everything. I totally understand your mentality of just doing it/ripping off the bandaid instead of dragging it out and losing motivation in the process! ❤️
I think donating things you know you’re not going to use is the best thing. There’s lots of people out there that needs them and cannot afford them. Good job 👏🏻 👍🏻❤
I so completely relate to what you shared. I’m 43 and only in my 40s, if not the past year, have I really become the best version of myself. It’s a strange feeling, almost as if I have more wisdom and confidence in myself and my decisions. It’s the realization that life is so short, and I want to make the most of it and be the best mom. I see it's great to see other influences declutter and kind of minimize some of their collection. Let alone do give aways with a majority of the new items they got in PR. They do big giveaways to thank their audience. And I think that's so great. There's a possibility of my family moving in October. And I'm decluttering/shredding papers I don't need, items I don't need. Going to clean out the garage soon. But it's so great. To declutter. Yes test out products it's some influencer do in the beauty community But there's not a need to have that much makeup. Much love to you all

I love your “weird chats” on your transformation period. It makes me feel like I’m in good company! I recently went through a hardcore period of trauma therapy, had to take medical leave from work bc it was causing panic attacks, and I’m finally on the other side! Definitely dropping a lot of the socially expected things from my life - like having to work a 40-hr workweek. ✨✨✨ I love a good declutter because I am an aspiring minimalist. I think clutter causes us stress. So if getting g rid of excess gives you peace of mind, you go girl! As you said, we will watch! LOL. As for PR, I never had a problem with people receiving it. I think some days it would be nice to get stuff for free because it gets expensive. But also, I think if you don’t need it, why get it? You can still try new things and use the things you love!
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been doing a massive whole house declutter. It feels great. PR has never bothered me because I consider it part of a content creator’s business. I watch RU-vid mostly for reviews, hauls, testing new makeup etc so I can decide what I want to purchase. Creators having access to new things benefits me and I have honed my RU-vid subscriptions to people I trust. But I can see 100% where it would become overwhelming, I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I own and went through. I love declutter videos. I swear I could watch anyone declutter anything. Organization is my thing. I did sigh a little seeing your GrandeLash, I have used it for years until all the dermatologists I follow said not to because pga’s are causing some bad side effects for the eyes…some I have and didn’t even realize that was the cause. 😢
Thank you for the talk towards the end. I'm 65 years old and I've always worked hard to be there for everyone around me. I tried to be there for my younger siblings that live 3 hours away and now, I'm physically not able. Since I haven't been able due to me getting neuropathy in my legs and feet, I just don't drive far, I can't....sorry this is getting long but now that I can't do for them, they no longer even talk to me...I never would have thought things would turn this way...and yes...when you said...guilt--I feel like I'm on the end of that. I did what I could for over 25 years for them, and now---I have no answers. Thank you for making me feel human. I think all of you who do these tutorials need the PR, it helps us in the long run to see what's out there to try or not. 🌟🌟🌟
You have to use A LOT of the Raise the Root. Like 10-15 sprays. I think it works best on shorter hair or hair with a lot of layers. I’m a hair stylist and I have a lot of clients with short or medium length hair that love it. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I think PR is great. It allows you to try way more than what you maybe would buy. I am also a person who doesn’t care how big your collection is either. You need more products than the average person because of what you do. Sometimes I am envious, but only because I love makeup! 😂

⭐⭐⭐ PR is great for getting great products out there, the only bad thing is it encourages massive consumerism and just having so many products. Like sometimes having so much stuff you don’t really get to enjoy what you have so much. Just constantly looking at what’s next.
As a business owner don't accept PR if you aren't going to take the time to review them. Especially small brands, it's such a big deal for us that when people who say yes to PR and never actually try the product ...it breaks our heart 😂😅
As someone who has struggled with religion a lot as an adult I appreciate so much how honest you are about your faith. You don’t hide it but you never shove it in our faces like some do. One time I went through everything in our three bathrooms and various other drawers and found that I had THIRTEEN tubes of toothpaste. A lot of little ones but also quite a few full sized! Needless to say we didn't buy toothpaste for like two years. It's really good to dig down to see what is in storage areas!

Sometimes though we reach a point where we're ready to move on with something we've been doing for awhile. If that's the case I would say listen to your gut. There are soo many skin care products out there now it's ridiculous - don't know how anyone could try most of them. I'm amazed at how fast you decluttered those drawers! I would have been there for hours! 😂

It’s very thin, almost watery consistency, so I like to incorporate it into my morning skincare routine since it sits nice under makeup. Edited to add: near the end you were talking about the urge to save things so that you can figure out whether they were dupes, but I think it’s worth thinking like, who cares if something is a dupe for a product you never even use! Puts it in perspective!

I totally relate to your transformation conversation. Therapy and working through the shame I learned I was carrying because of a certain religion etc. it’s been so transformative. I swear my therapist is a gift from God. lol

Jess, I have been on A “ shedding stuff kick” for A while now, I always feel so much better after the “ stuff” is passed on to A good cause. It’s freeing. It seems like signing up for certain products/shades would be more effective and less wasteful.
