I love the idea of not being tied to length but to healthy hair ...or just simply the idea to be versatile with one's locs!! I'm a super fan of this decision!
I am 3 years locked and I have length goals. My hair is bsl. This must have been emotional for you. I recall big chopping chemicals 2014 and cried like the dickens😂.
Wow Jocelyn. I'm excited to hear about and see what color you have decided on. I've been loc'd for a little over 3 years. The locs in back are past my shoulder and the locs in the front are almost at chin length. I think I want my locs to reach mid back length. I really don't think my locs are at the length they should be. I suffered from depression for a little over a year back in 2022. I wasn't taking care of myself during this time. I have been better since the beginning of the year. I think my hair should be longer but I will get there and I'll be enjoying it.
I can see you rocking magenta💜. I'm 2.4 years loc'd. Lately I've been noticing my hair growing faster than I've ever imagined. I'm not tied to length, so I would welcome a trim if I desire it.
I had my locs 5 years, and was bra strap length. I live in the ATL and they were so hot. I was preparing to cut my locs to shoulder length. However, my scalp begin itching horribly. I began loosing hair at my temple. I went to the dermatologist and found out I had Psoriasis. I have combed out my locs, lost more hair and had a bald spot. My scalp is better now and my hair is growing back. I am thinking about starting a new loc journey once my breakage areas grow back. Sorry for the long story. I’m still watching you though.
Im mid back and i will be five years in September. I am not thinking about cutting yet but I sometimes want to comb out my perimeter and make them larger or at least more organized.
Purple would be a great color! At this point in my loc journey I’ve finally made it to teenage stage with a set of locs so I can’t even complain about the length…I’m just happy that after 8 years of different starterloc variations I’ve been able to finally commit to a set mentally and physically 😅
My hair has been purple since 2018. I loc'd in 2020 and just did rinses or color that didn't require bleaching. I wanted that vibrant purple back so I decide to just go for it. Glad I did it.
My locs are way tooooo long right now but I’m holding off on cutting them because I want to be 100 percent sure that’s what I really want. So for now I’m going to just sit in this until I am completely satisfied with my decision to cut them or not.
I'm not one to be really wrapped up in my hair, I've always been the one to maintain it and it has thrived since I've gone natural. I've been considering locs and this video answered my question: Yes you can cut locs without cutting them off! I'm excited for my hair to grow my hair out so it can be in locs now🥰
My last set of locs I had for 7 years. I dyed them multiple times and eventually went back to black, cut them twice and combed them out to start over with bigger parts. Over that time I’ve learned to not be tied to my hair cus whatever presentation I choose, it’s still me. And you will still be you 🫶🏾 2 1/2 years in on my third set and I’m gonna keep them trimmed to bob length cus I’ve had my fun with long hair lol.
I'm barely 2 years in so I'm definitely looking for more length. I'm mid 50's so I'm not ever going to color my hair because I'm starting to see my grays and want to keep my hair as holistic as possible. I also have fine hair, btw.
I cut my locs like two months after having them for 5 years. I wanted to change the parting system and increase the number of locs I have. I'm now enjoying my short hair phase
I’m never coloring my Locs again! After all the blonde and browns and being almost 40,I’m good! My silver and gray hairs have come in and I’m loving them! I will eventually cut mine shorter for health! I want all this color out but it will be take me some time as it grows I’ll just keep cutting it until it’s all black again! ❤🎉
Love this video! I’m right here with you! I want to cut my locs too! They are just getting to top bra strap length and I just want a shorter look and color them black. This video was so helpful! Yay
Congrats Jocelyn on transitions! I actually been growing my 3rd set of locs for almost two years and I have lint build up here and there and I'm like ahhhhhhhh it's killing me. I'm like picking up my tweezers every other day. Having said that I totally relate to the energy that hair holds and wanting to shed it I cut my first set for the very same reason. I think you're going color your hair shades of brown and a splash of orange like a foliage.
Purple. My locs are still growing. Im not sure what I plan to do once they get shoulder length. Right now my hair is purple but I shave the sides so you can see the gray there.
go PINK…..I’m a newbie here; and if you don’t mind me asking; how many locs do you have? I know it’s a weird kind of question; but yours reminds me of mine. I absolutely LOVE mine….yours is way longer than mine; but I can not wait to get to your length 😩 (I’m approaching bra length) BTW: I have 59 locs ❤
Sis I love your joy over this. I have your detox guide. Only use your line so product buildup but just wanted to soak out the environmental buildup. I always wanted to know the benefit of soaking locs in alkaline water. I know you don’t do anything without purpose!
I love cutting my hair it is always exciting and enlightening. I cut my locs at least every 18 months for a newness of energy. Also, I like to use some of the healthier cut-off pieces to crochet onto other pieces I want to lengthen.😅❤🎉 The results are my own work of art and self discovery that I can wear for a time until the next idea starts to blossom. 🌸
