The bankruptcy of Fisker is a warning sign to electric vehicle investors. It's becoming harder and harder to make money selling EVs and the companies that haven't reached profitability yet are facing the daunting task of surviving a market demanding profits. I think it is similar with what happened with the ICE manufacturers a hundred years ago. In the US there were hundreds of car manufacturers, but 95% of those disappeared.

That's correct everyone won't win. Just like some brands like Infinity. Maybe Cadillac are probably not going to survive and rivian and Tesla will take their place.

Fisker is not a wake up call, they released a fundamentally flawed flagship product, has nothing to do with EV makers with more mature and diverse product lines like Rivian and Tesla. We should learn later this week how much cost savings Rivian has succeeded in getting out of their R1 updates.

Rivian is anything but diverse or mature and it's the one I'm most focused on. Rivian needs capital markets to be open and if investors see bankruptcies in EVs that's a sign capital markets are closing down. What does Rivian do if its stock drops 50%?

@@asymmetricinvesting They have the EDV, the very popular R1 line especially the R1S, they are everywhere in the Northwest, as well as R2/R3 which has already garnered a lot of interest. I think it is important to hear what they say on the June 27th investor day, we might get some very welcome news on R1 update from a investor perspective, maybe some numbers on R2 reservations.

@@asymmetricinvestingnor was Uber or Amazon, everyone shopped at Walmart and Sears in 2002. Amazon didn't make a profit and if the Internet was around then you would have a video saying the same thing. The only difference is you guys take the video down when your proven wrong. The world is going Ev. It's not a overnight transition. Amazon already have rivian trucks delivery in my neighborhood. Same for chargepoint and blank. By 2030 the ev sales will be more than gas. Last but not least gas will start going up. Gas will be 7 to 8 dollars a gallon in the next 5 years. It will puch people to evs. Other countries are already ahead of us!!!
