Bro definitely has a tragic back story. Scream family man or planed to be. Has a big empty house, living alone till the girl moved in, Anti-social, alcoholic, very skilled at his job and capable at others that most are surprised by, bros homie became a holy knight, good person but depressed and doesn't care about reputation.
There's a light novel or whatever which is far enough to get a good idea of what happened. Spoilers V Ex-lover took everything after pretending she loved him or something.
Personally, I think he was married before his current lifestyle. The 3 big hint. The house. Then the one apron the girl is wearing to clean the house. Last the chest. He ask her not to open.
@@TheMagicDragon-mm5dr Thank you for this, damn...poor dude. This happens so much in real life especially in the US where stupidly and for no rational reason in the current modern world the women that marry men can then divorce and get his stuff even his HOUSE and if that wasn't enough a monthly payment if kids involved. Anybody with a tiny peanut brain would gather 2 + 2 and understand those poor children would only be excuses for 99% of bad women getting a check to do their shitty nails and other shit and everything BUT care for the actual children. Yet society allows this to proceed. Weird...
@robertwolfgan Poor dude also actively tries to do some illegal activities with a minor (Tiana) in the novel, and also kinda tries to marry her, so yeah
"hey can you heal this girl because im worried about her wounds?" "HOW DARE YOU HURT A FRAGILE GIRL TO SUCH EXTENT" "wha-? i just asked you to heal he-" "YOU CRIMINAL"
It's sad because they're not actually concerned about the girl. Their hatred for him is greater. They Imagine the evil that he can do to them on someone they care about. So they're basically protecting their own twisted mindsets onto the him through the girl. It's like looking at the moon at night and knowing that the sun is also there.
Everyone else is a Karen I guess lol. But the word you were looking for was projecting, but I assume auto correct from a phone got you there. In any case, yes. People have an image and assume things all the time, despite our being clear that he's a senior adventurer that is kind of everyone. It's just a story with an older guy taking care of a younger person - an ouji-san, is you will. It's its own genre.
In a LN i read (possibly Grimgar) they explain that Thief is a job for criminal but their abilities to unlock locks, spot trap and detect enemies are useful so the Adventure Guild make them sign a contract to become a Guild member to pay for their crime. After sometimes, they established a clan and students of those Thieves would call themselve Rouge or Scout. Though some students will abuse their skills to become a Thief.
@@zomegaexalpha4708 Sword Art Online Abridged, from Something Witty Entertainment. I'll have to look up what episode. Well written parody while also giving sime serious writing that one can argue is better than the original material.
I like this story, I like main character Horis, he’s kind, insecure, works hard, strong, skilled at his abilities, & a little responsible, and so I hope a Part#2 gets made.
I like stories that focus on healing and helping broken people get better more than just edgy gratuitous revenge stories. Need more cute "take care of slave girl" anime that don't focus on the revenge but just on making her happy and moving on.
@@MALICEM12do u know of any anime where the main guy buys a slave girl and unlike previous “owners”, he treats her like a human and takes care of her and she eventually falls in love with him and he reciprocates? I’m in the mood for some overly blessed romance stories.
World's Finest Assassin; be warned her back story isn't just implied, _especially in the anime!_ I'd rec watching the first season (the flashback comes in episode 6) it adds a ton of scenes ala Mushoku/Shield
only saw "Lone Adventurer took a Slave Girl & she Changed his Life" and thought it was gonna be cute then opened the video and saw "After being rejected" and my heart dropped
You comment made me start reading the manhwa and MC explicitly bought her to groom her, she's naked in the first chapter, orcs tries to rape her, even other character tell her to grow tits so she'll be more attractive to MC. I'm guessing this is all censored in the YT version lol @eung6216
Ironic that the person who is closest to MC (his own party member) is the first person to judge him when seeing the slave girl. Not even trying to ask who is the girl or is there any background story.
To be fair, up to that point, it sounds like he'd been pretty cold to all of them, and was clearly only working with them for the money, and obviously had pretty bad attitude and a low opinion of other people in general, which I'm sure they all would have picked up on if they worked with him enough. It's not unreasonable in that sort of situation to assume that his problem is that he's just not a very nice person in general. Sometimes being more familiar with somebody means knowing even better why nobody else likes them either.
Honestly, as the rogue of my friend group - if I walked up to one of them and was like "Hey, heal this girl I met last night" - they'd probably assume I caused it from things we did the night prior. That being said, they'd also know better once they saw the actual girl was a slave or that small and probably all joke on me for buying a slave just to save her LOL
Its weird and very pervertedly creepy at first but wholesome later on despite that it feels like the MC have a traumatic backstory that made him lose his care for himself maybe thats why he buys tiana when he's drunk at the beginning it maybe because it reminded him of someone he knows
Sure, but coming from absolute rejection and deep loneliness tje creepiness should surprise? Even the escort house didnt accept his money, when younger i would judge homeless people for being drunk, but ihad nothing, nowhere to go and no perspective, i would not do the same?
There is a bit of aimlessness and focused goals. No criticism. This is one of the other best stories on the recaps. The aimlessness is part of the non urgency that opens the story up without being too demanding. Its a good story pace to have.
Bizzare. The role of the scout is the preventive medicine to healer's curative. They're incredibly valuable. How is the guy so despised for his class he's turned away from a WHOREHOUSE?
@samydc310 I guess it's a chicken or the egg sort of thing. They're not trusted because they're not trustworthy, but they're not trustworthy because they're not trusted. And they don't get an even split because they're usually hired on rather than being full members of the party. That means the rogue doesn't get a cut of the 1000 gold pieces he picks the lock and disarms the trap for... People don't treat the rogue honorably, so there's no incentive for the rogue to be honorable. "The rogue will steal from us," then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
He went to a high class establishment. The bouncer's job is to keep riff raff out and let in only wealthy customers. That's why the bouncer told him to go to the cheaper places.
By the sound of things, it's mostly because the guy is an idiot. I mean, seriously, if you already know that nobody likes thieves, *why are you going around the town obviously dressed like a thief?* And then you're _surprised_ when people don't want you in their establishment? It's sorta like hanging around a pet store wearing a shirt that says "I like to kill puppies". And if you're mad that nobody is nice to you and thinks you're a criminal, why are you doing every single thing you possibly can to play into the trope of an untrustworthy loner? It's like the guy is actually _trying_ to make everyone think that's exactly what he is.
Mm................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................yeah, this isn't English.
Imagine talking shit about someones character while being a priestess in a town that feeds human children to Ogres. Also I guess I read too many dark fantasy cause I was expecting him to come home and find her mutilated corpse.
It's very possible he inherited the house or something, and it just came with furniture. Like taking over a kitchen from the previous owners of an apartment. So he can't afford much stuff, but the couch was already there.
4.35 Elia has been working with the guy for at least this past dungeon, and truly thinks he's a bad guy? Why did you accept him into the party in the first place then, or invite him to go drinking afterward? Surely there were other people who could disarm traps or map the layout, you didn't have to go with someone you think is a criminal. No to mention you don't develop scars from injuries you received only last night, a healer should know that.
I think he's in such a state of accusation because his job is a necessity for the party, but out of the thieves they could've hired he was likely the best candidate they could get attitude wise. The priestess also likely thought he made those cuts with something like a knife really fast overnight. There are ways to leave those kinds of marks on someone but alleviate the pain and hide the damage to an extent, not perfectly, but since she can clearly see what he might've covered up she openly blames him.
I despise the priestess. She acted like they were friend, but immediately accuses him of things when she saw the girl. She is a bad person. People like this are disgusting.
I think that the implication is that it's a false invitation, that "scouts" are often thought of as would-be "thieves" and thus get treated as such, and that the priestess thought he had kept this person for a while. IDK how 'good' this MC can be when he doesn't free the girl nearly immediately. Slavery is wrong. I can understand that he wants to keep her safe but getting the collar off her neck and letting her be treated like the person she is again would be a day-one goal of anyone who was truly 'good hearted' because he may not be able to stop the whole industry but he can at least free this girl and let her choose for herself to have his assistance or not. She very clearly is choosing his assistance anyways because she speaks up for him at the temple so you can't even argue that he was keeping her enslaved 'for her own good' because she would have stuck around after being freed.
Ah, yes, every man’s fantasy. A loving family who deeply cares about you, and whom you care deeply about. I can tell based on the art the writer cares.
@@TruckerReviewedthat was the kind of feels I get when reading Shield Hero light novel, up until the author start to introduce more love interest in the story and I lose interest.
Ah yes, a pseudo-Japanese medieval ages fantasy world where everyone is concerned to see a worthless slave being mistreated by a guy nobody cares about. I'm getting Rise of the Shield hero vibes.
Yeah but this is different, the slave the shield hero bought became a good looking demihuman after sonenleveling but still in his control, so in human ooga wooga nature, they assume she is mistreated because they believe no such beauty should become a slave even though nobody cared when she was dying in the slave market.
Just finished reading this, I’m gonna be keeping an eye out for each new chapter, it’s been really cute and well done, nowhere near as cringy as I was expecting

thinking about a few things i think the mc had a wife and/or child and one of them looked like tianna but they passed away! the earrings and apron were theirs and thats why he had tianna wear them and why he was ok with her being in bed with him! it explains the reason he bought her, the earrings, the small apron, and the large two bedroom house
Interesting story. Especially the beginning. Personally, I think he was married before his current lifestyle. The 3 big hint. The house. Then the one apron the girl is wearing to clean the house. Last the chest. He ask her not to open. There is a forth hint. The herbs. He thought it was weeds. So personal garden growing herbs for cooking. Girl knows it’s herbs because her mother probably teach her when she had parents. Something mother probably showed her. Four clues the guy was probably married in the past. Chest, probably have her things. He personally treasure. Again. My guess. Looking forward to looking up this story.
If it gets sick its not going to be productive, if it can't read/write/math it can't go shopping on its own, if it is dirty and stinky it would be unpleasant to be around, if it isn't fed adequately it won't have enough energy to do all tasks. For maximum value, it has to be kept in the best condition!
I have no idea what this channel is but I like this story a lot. And your voice is easy to sleep to. Subbed, I love the idea of being told a bedtime story every night.
