Russia and Vietnam pledged Thursday to deepen ties as President Vladimir Putin made a state visit aimed at bolstering his alliances to counter Moscow's growing isolation over the war in Ukraine. The Russian leader did not receive such a clear public declaration of support in Hanoi, but Vietnamese President To Lam indicated a desire to boost defence cooperation. Vietnam and Russia have close ties going back to the 1950s but the Southeast Asian manufacturing powerhouse has for years carefully avoided allying too closely with any major power -- the so-called "bamboo diplomacy" approach of seeking strength through flexibility. Is this visit a proof of that? Palki Sharma tells you.

China and Russia are very comfortable with bamboo diplomacy infact thats what BRICS is about, it is the west that wants exclusivity. Wanting to be the center of everything and at the expense of others. The West ended up isolating itself instead... Great 👍 i just got a job offer in Vietnam. Important to see the desperate Putin visiting one of China's enemies for help. Ive lived in China and Taiwan and was also offered work in Taiwan. I certainly won't be visiting to Taipei. My Taiwanese friends don't think Chinese will strike the country. They said if it would have happened it would or should have been 2019. The World is at war. Let's not forget the real reason the U.S. went to Vietnam. They helped S. Vietnam when North Vietnam wanted to have the whole country as a communist country, starving their own people.

Previously, there was no North Vietnam or South Vietnam; the division was only temporary according to the Geneva Accords. There was supposed to be an election two years after the agreement was signed, but the CIA knew for sure that Ho Chi Minh would win, so the U.S. intervened to establish a puppet government in South Vietnam. You should learn more about history, my friend.

Vietnam has existed for over 4,000 years and has gone through countless wars with the most powerful empires in history, while the United States has only been around for a little over 300 years. In the 20th century, when America's power and strength were absolute compared to the rest of the world, it still couldn't defeat Vietnam. So what basis is there to believe that the U.S. could win again now, when American and NATO power is declining? If the U.S. doesn't become wiser, its history might not even reach 500 years. The very name "United States" indicates a problem: if any state successfully secedes, it will no longer be "United." With such cultural and racial diversity, and strong political polarization as in the U.S., this isn't hard to imagine.
