All you need is course salt, and the alcohol, adding the Snuggles fabric softner(whatever scent you pick) and you have nice smelling rooms for days. I have it going on right now. Love this tip!
This is a brilliant idea - it really works. I tried it in a smelly bathroom yesterday & today it smelt the best I’ve ever been able to get it. I did one bowl like above & another bowl with the base as baking soda. Both worked perfectly. Thank you for sharing this ❤
Hello from Mumbai, India. I just dilute the fabric softener with water, put into a spray bottle and use as an air freshener, including spraying upholstery, curtains, blinds, mops, bathroom tiles etc
From Conway South Carolina - Thank you - I have to try this. We use a pot of water with cloves, orange peel and cinnamon on the stove in winter to provide moisture and make the house smell festive - this is one of my Holiday hacks -smells yummy!
@@IVant2BAlonesometimes it's the orange that makes the fragrance off, leave it out and just add the spices you like. Cinnamon, clove, anise, nutmeg. You'll come up with something you like. After it has cooled off I've added some liquid vanilla extract and stirred, can't really use it in the hot water it evaporates too fast🌼🍃.
Fabric conditioner is brilliant for removing dust and fluff off surfaces. Furniture, TVs, etc. you need a wet clean cloth. Pour a capful of conditioner onto the cloth. Spread the conditioner all over the cloth. Wring it out well. Dry on a radiator until completely dry. Take cloth and dust softly over the tv screen. (De-statics the tv). Softly dust all sides, tables, chairs and all Dustable surfaces. And you will also have a fresh smelling home. Shake the cloth thoroughly outside.
Being Rich still does make you happy, its not what everyone thinks, Fabric Softner has toxic chemicals in it, I would use only organic to use as a air freshner in my home.
From California here, thanks for the tip! We don't have good ventilation in our apartment so after cooking this I open up windows and do this to make my home smell nice again! 😊
Going to try this seems a good idea . In the past during winter I get a damp cloth put some fabric softener on it & I wipe down my radiators then when my heating comes on the smell is good . Thanks for sharing tip . From across the pond
I use cotton balls saturated with favorite perfume, then put one cotton ball in each A/C register in every room. Sends out nice aroma each time A/C or heater comes on. 💕
@@SUNROSE7878 houseclearners know all the tricks. They also industrial strength products. If you are lucky enough to have a janitorial product company in your town, they likely sell to the public. Better products, better prices.
Look forward to trying this tip; thanks for sharing. Also, special thanks to the readers who shared funny (respectful) comments about a "rich man's house", I'm still laughing!!!!
I just use an essential oil diffuser or natural incense, or you could save your citrus peels and gently boil them on the stove with cinnamon sticks and cloves. That is especially good in the winter when the air can be dry.
AGREE - whenever I use to use it my dogs would start Sneezing as soon as I took the clothes out of the washing machine all the way to the clothes Line Outdoors 😮
Texas here..thank you for this tip. My Mother is in very poor health. She is 86 and has incontinence and the sitting room smells so bad! Going to try this for my Dad. He is so embarrassed by the smell.
Try cleaning that area a little more and cover where she sits, you can launder that frequently. Peroxide helps to break down the enzymes. A Bowl of vinegar in the room can help to absorb odors too. Good luck!
I soak orange peel in white vinegar for a multipurpose cleaner, and if I want to remove mould, I add cloves to the white vinegar and orange peel for a few days before straining it and bottling it. I also add water to the bottle as I don't use it as a concentrated liquid. Thanks for the tip, I will try it. :)
@@rene230464 to be honest, I just guess, but I have been using about 1/2 - 3/4 cup vinegar to around 2 cups water. Seems to work for me so far. Hope that helps.
Any other spices you have going bad, too. Pepper is cool, i used star anise once. Strain and pour in a glass sprayer when it’s still hot. This actually smells rich.
Great tip!! From Virginia..... I use Fabric softener to wipe down the vinyl surfaces in my car after sanitizing it and some of my furniture after testing a small area. Just a small amount on a soft cloth, leaves a nice scent in the house and when areas heat up or gets warm.....the scent is enhanced!!
I sometimes do that around my home with a favorite body lotion, wipe off dining room chairs, base boards around the house. Seat cushions on couch and loveseat, I have to use caution so I don't strip any furniture. I like the fabric softener sheets as well, fresh and used, gets up tons of dust...
Beware of what you spread all over your environment that is toxic and then you breathe it in your lungs that’s how people get lung cancer you don’t have to be a smoker to die of lung cancer. You just got to be around a lot of chemicals I wouldn’t put fabric softener on anything it’s all toxic. Go buy some essential oils that are healthy. You’ll get a much better results and live longer to enjoy it.
stick with that as this idea is **NO IT'S CARCINOGENIC** .. DO NOT DO THIS OR USE IT! Do a search to see how CARCINOGENIC THIS IS and other health effects peace
@@surgicaltechcrafter2169 LOL PMSL .... if your reading this your on the web L00K it up ( arr go on ... prove me wrong) .... self educate then come back and we will have an informed adult conversation.. till then run along and play in the sand box and live your lies
I take bottle and mix those fabric softener beads with warm water, and spray my beds:furniture and drapes. Then open all the windows. My house smells amazing. And no, I haven’t seen any staining.
Inconstinance is more common as we age. At 75 I know! I use a lot of incontinence pads and sometimes adult diapers. Still there are leaks even using these. I mop a lot with vinegar and water. I am definately going to try the coarse salt mixed with fabric softner and cloves.
A helpful tip would be to mix in larger quantity in a large bowl. Find some small used plastic containers to drill small holes in the lids. Fill said containers with mixture so if for some reason they get knocked over by a creature (my cat) it won't be a mess to clean up.
Plus, the salt will draw up any excess moisture in the room, and the mixture will be damp pretty quickly if used in the cold months with double glazed windows. 😊
Hmm, rice does seem like the better substitute for salt - at least it won't dissolve in a humid room. How long does the mix last before you need to make another batch?
When packing for trips, i put fabric dryer sheets inside my packing cubes, it smells like i just got it from the laundry. Same trick as home, put dryer sheets in closet , between jacket.after a while, replace new sheets and used the old dryer sheets to clean mirrors and forset, it became shinny
I’d rather use natural essential oil instead of crappy fabric softener…I don’t use scented clothes detergents or fabric softener… I would think you’d want less toxins floating inside your home…Just my POV🤷🏾♀️
@@retiredchef238 I have and not ALL Essential oils are toxic…my cats laughed at my DIY I tried to deter them from doing their business in certain or keeping them out of my kitchen and off my counters when my back is turned😁
My sister and I used to push cloves into an orange or two and hang up with a ribbon during the holidays. I had forgotten all about that til now. As I recall, the Christmassy aroma lasts for a lot longer than on would think. Thanks for the tip 😊
A clean and nice smell in the home is pleasant and comforting to the senses. The"Rich" might be to "busy"ro notice the smell in his house... Being Blessed... smells Greater than being "rich".
OMG,, EVERYDAY YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW N MORE POWERFUL ,,THANKS FOR SHARING UR KNOWLEDGE,, KAYE,, FROM BRONX NY,, ILL TRY THIS TODAY DEFINATELY,, THANKS AGAIN,, HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY EVERYONE
Interesting tip. Seems simple enough. I'd like to know, though, how fast does the coarse salt dissolve? And also, I'm trying to figure out what a fabric softener and clove would smell like. They don't sound to be compatible smells? Around the holidays I like to take a big orange and push cloves all around it. That is truly a divine smell for Fall and Winter.
When I was a teen my friend and I hated this potpourri scent at her house. It was the kind you ad water and flower petals to and is heated when plugged in. It smelled like cheap dollar store bathroom fell scents. One day she had this great idea, she would put a piece of her shit in the potpourri and let it steam out so her mom would stop using it. A day later a fresh pot was back in it, so she did it again. I was crying from laughter every time someone would comment on the smell of the potpourri. Her mom kept making us smell the bag to see if it’s rotten and tried maybe 4 times to make a new batch but the stuff kept ending up smelling like an outhouse so she finally stopped and tossed it all.
From Chicago; love this scent idea...I boil cloves, star and cinnamon and the aroma is so Beautiful... especially in cold winter days; home smells nice and an aromatherapy for sure!
😮 Please do not use cloves if you have a dog. If they ingest them, they can die of poisoning 😢. Nice tip. I'm watching from Batbados 🇧🇧 in the Caribbean
We live away from any town, when it is nice out I open windows for the fresh air smell. Trees, and shrubs all clean my house. This is only when the pollen is not coming in. Really, that is God's cleaner.
For how many days will the fragrance stay ? I mean if the fragrance goes away what to do next.. will discard the salt or with the same salt we'll add alcohol and comfort ? Please reply 🙏
I would say take the cloves out and add some of this to your washing machine during a wash but do NOT use bleach at the same time Also dump in the sink with hot water run garbage disposal Could use some to clean toilets since it has salt
Daphnie from Toronto Canada 🤗! I use clove essential oil to help spring season with eliminating bugs entering my house, helps with cockroaches, bed bugs and silver fishes bugs
I use downy calm fabric softener & water in spray bottle spray the carpet & fabric furniture all through out my house smells like Downey calm, but will try this as well thank you 😊
I just discovered, after 6 months of wearing them y scrub pants for work were made in Kenya. Hello! I think that's the 1st time I saw anything made from Kenya. I'm in Florida U.S.A.
Thanks for the coarse salt and cloves tips.😍it’s awesome😍💕 All these years I’ve used fabric softener to add scent in the room esp. in the toilet and coffee ground to neutralise the air👍
Angela Isles, Morehead City NC. this is the most amazing tip I have ever seen. You ROCK❣️I can’t wait to get the salt tomorrow and make my house smell great😁Thanks for sharing!
Hi all I'm from Ballarat Australia and I love the tips shared. Also use fabric softner in my wall cleaning mixture to give the house a beautiful fragrance.
Elmarie cape town hi I'm from delft I'm a person who loves neatness and a clean nice smelling house I looove your idea you make me happie😀😀 I got 3cats they are very well manerd they won't even try to smell it so they are safe I love them , bless you
Thanks for the tip. Really appreciate the method it's easy n cheap, items used. All of it are in the kitchen. I'm staying in an apartment, ground floor, clean but at times, the air brings in unnecessary smell. Hope your tip helps 🙏. From lovely beautiful, beloved country * MALAYSIA* Thanks again 🙏
I've seen a similar video minus the cloves. I've already been using laundry softener to make the house smell fresh and nice. I mix it with water in the 🪣 and then use a cloth to wipe the kitchen, floors, walls, even the furniture.
@Sharon Chambers Absolutely!👌 I like the lavender or vanilla fragrance of the concentrate fabric softener 💜 Perfect scent to make your entire home smell amazing.
Does it have to be course salt like a Kosher salt,or can regular table salt be used ? I love the smell of fabric softener, thank you, much appreciated, can't wait to try.
Great idea! Though I would use organic essential oils rather than fabric softener made with animal fat…appliance repair told us many year ago it’s responsible for damaging washing machines. We had our LG washer for 18 years!!🙌
White Vinegar works as a fabric softener. Doesn’t leave any trace of odor. Just clean clothes smell. All the scented chemicals used in fabric softeners and soap are toxic, very unhealthy. Google it.
I never use liquid fabric softener in my washer because of all the nasty gunk that builds up because of it. I was using dryer sheets but recently decided to switch to wool dryer balls instead. They work great and no chemicals, no build up of anything on our clothes and everything still comes out soft and static free.
I was so excited about trying this tip out but am so disappointed as the smell is only around the bowl. I made two and put them in different places but still no smell. I am truly disappointed. 😢😢
It'll be a lot easier if you use a larger bowl to mix your salt and then take your little salt mix and put it into the smaller bowl. Otherwise you're just going to make a mess
I'm watching from West Liberty,, Kentucky. An I absolutely love the tip with the Epsom salt an fabric softener ... Great tip I can't wait to see other tips... I'm hooked on this channel.
For your bathroom to eliminate smells Lemon Bleach in your toilet and let it sit for a while. Just make sure you flush before using. If you work when you come home it makes a difference
I am from Sydney, Australia. Thank you for such a great tip, I can’t wait to to try this. I also subscribed to your channel. I am looking forward to learn more from you.💗💛💙
***⭐Love the title of your video! I know what you mean, some professional cleaners leave the houses smelling great, not sweet or chemically or air freshener-y, just fresh and clean and cared for in a well-to-do way. Aka RICH!
WOW ! Now I can live like a rich man without all those pesky responsibilities & problems that having too much money brings ! More Money = More Problems !
I definitely had high hopes of this working unfortunately this doesn't seem to be for a larger room I do believe it'll be effective in a closed-off space such as a closet a dresser drawer or even a small bathroom
Hi from the UK ❤ 👋 - Funny to see that after I've used a similar method to make fluid for my electric refresher tired of having to pay big money for the retail refills. I've added a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water with a small amount of fabric softener of my favourite brand and voila' - Thanks for sharing this other unique idea which is an even better solution avoiding the use of electrical gadgets.
