I don't have a problem with the research itself if it helps the living in some way. I have a problem with this company lying to people about how the deceased bodies would be used. Maybe from now on the military will use due diligence to make3 sure the bodies they obtain were donated for such purposes.
@issac-vb1ng Not so Fun Fact - the amount of money that the US spends on its military budget is a staggering 9.16 billion dollars for the fiscal year of 2023. And to put that into perspective for you, that is more money than all other countries Combined. The US also has more than 80 military bases around the globe. So when it comes to military spending fiscally, the US is just well overboard. And I am guessing that you are probably an American since you didn't understand what @SwipeKun was referring to. It's really sad that the vast majority of Americans don't even know some basic facts about their own government. And BTW I myself am an American, embarrassed to be one actually.
Correction: The U.S. military spending was greater than the next ten biggest spenders in 2023. And it's been that way for the previous years as well, meaning this is not something new that we started doing last year, we have been doing this type of spending on the military for the past several decades. And that number was actually 916 billion dollars. Again, with the massive spending taking place it really is shameful that they simply couldn't just borrow some crash test dummies from the automotive industry, or maybe even buy their own.
This is disgusting and a disgraceful act how dare they hope this man was paid handsomely for how they treated his mothers body honestly what’s the world coming too 😢
I will just say it....he should have just buried his mom and not have been cheap! I would never donate my body or my mother's body to any science project to be mutilated. It is sad when people donate themselves or family members to science...instead of just having a burial after death.
@@lesliehiggins3317 some people are fine with it. Science and the medical community learn a lot from body donations, and the person is dead so doesn't know a thing. It's a personal choice.
For all we know she had a note taped to her chest that said she wanted to have a blast in the afterlife. But in all seriousness I feel bad that she is haunting her son. Not cool
Now this is just f*cking abhorrent! It seems like it is not only disrespectful and completely dishonest, to use "donated" human remains to conduct this type of testing, but totally pointless as well. I mean, we have all seen at least one video of someone placing a watermelon out in a field (or wherever) and then using explosives to, you know, explode the thing just to see what happens to it. (Or they will use some other fruits to demonstrate what various weapons and ammunition will do to them.) Besides, why on Earth couldn't the military (with its outrageous budget that is more than the top ten countries combined) simply use some of the crash test dummies that the automotive industry has been using for decades? Plus they even make ballistics dummies that are anatomically correct, to give researchers a more accurate picture of the damage being done when conducting tests to make their vehicles safer for the people using them. I just do not understand why exactly some guys in the US military thought it was a good idea to use actual human bodies to basically explode them. (And I have the sneaking suspicion that these are the same people that sign up for the military for the singular purpose of them being able to legally shoot, and bomb, and otherwise kill other human beings.) SMH this is incredibly shameful and disgusting. 🤬😵
P.S. - Just another pathetic instance of Only in Merica folks! And I cannot help but wonder if any of the right wing nuts would be in favor of the practice of lying to families that donated their loved ones remains with the sole intention of benefitting medical research in a hope to ultimately benefit anyone suffering from some sort of catastrophic disease, like A.D. and dementia, provided they could actually afford whatever effective treatment methods are available, but then they find out that their mother or father was just blown to smithereens by the military? Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that the people that vote for Trump AKA Sweet Potato Hitler would say something to the effect of, "Welp, so they just done told us that they blowed up my Momma, but the marines did it so that's just fine and dandy with Paw and me!" (btw I got to find someway to laugh at these Maga Morons, or else I would be sitting around crying.)
When you donate your body to science, you are at the whims of whatever science they want to conduct. This is medical research, it can be used to learn how to treat specific wounds inflicted by certain types of explosions and can help save service members lives in the future. This is nothing to be angry about. This guys mom did alot more to save people in this way than just being a cadaver for a med school autopsy class. Be proud.
They lied to him, that's why he's sad and angry. He thought his mom was going to research on Alzheimer's and instead it went to endless military research.
@@Mandrew_ Did he "think" that or did they explicitly state that in writing? Also it is possible that they removed her brain for alzheimers research and sent her body for military research. The video doesnt go into enough detail and spins it to make it look like they blew his moms carcass up for fun.
@@darkworlddenizen there was text in the documents that asked if her body could be used for other purposes. According to Reuters, the center's donor consent form asked whether the body could be used on "non-medical projects that could involve exposure to destructive forces e.g. impacts, crashes, ballistic injuries, and blasts." Stauffer said he ticked "no" on the form.
