Fun fact: they forgot to bring a generator when making this video but Floor powered all the instruments and equipment with her the raw, electrifying power of her voice.
After Forever is just peak nostalgia for me- I saw them back in 2006 when my friend's band supported them and I got to go in early and watch the sound check etc. Such an awesome memory for me 💙
Digital deceit is is a great After Forever video. Early years, a cheesy clip but a phenomenal song in wich Floor rigthfully claims to be the Queen. Edit: Thanks for energizing me with your smiles
Undeniable talent, even back then. I'm surprised you didn't mention her underwater miming (that's not CGI!). It's no mistake when she says she has the lungs of a diver. There's a live version that's just her with the Red Limo String Quartet. You should look that up. She also performed it on her short tour of The Netherlands in January. The song still holds up. 🤘 You know you could cover this, Suzie.. 😉 ❤️
She will perform this song also in her solo concerts next month in Amsterdam, with mostly her beste zangers songs (and some Nightwish, Northward, ReVamp and After Forever songs). Also Henk Poort will be there and originally planned with also Anneke van Giersbergen, but don't know if that will continue still. The show will be recorded and released online. Going to see her perform live there for the second time this year!!!😇🤘🤘
Well, I'm energized! Thank you Suzi and Travis for another great reaction!! And RockerNL, you request like almost everything I watch on this channel, thank you for requesting awesome music!! 😀🤘
First official music video starring Floor that had me crushing hard on her. She reminded me of my one big crush in grade school, wich kept me awake for an entire summer, barely any sleep at night. They have thoose same hypnotic eyes, and they also share another fact: I wouldnt have zero chance with any of them, but i was and am allowed to dream. Dont get me wrong,i have been jawdropping by other females, but never been swept on my bum as fast as this teenage crush and Floor did. Difficult to explain, but they have the same eyes, and that same warm spark. That was all it took, and the rest? Just a major bonus really. Never been picky there. Its just sad that this got YT uploaded during different "resolution times" as it comes off blurry theese days, and could use a re-upload from the band/record company. This is considered After Forevers biggest hit,and was actually written by Floor with assistance from Sander Gommans. I didnt know until recently that they were a couple at the time. So this song must be a song they did for eachother,if im the one to guess. After Forever touched a few sub genres within Metal during theyr active career as a band, and i think if they had sticked with this sound right here, they would have been internationally huge at this point. On the other hand they didnt and broke up as a band, and Floor ended up in Nightwish. Perfect ending to the story!
That's the second song I'd ever heard of After Forever... The first one being Leaden Legacy. Good times, hehe. I was instantly hooked to Floor's voice, honestly. I like After Forever, but their sound wasn't my favourite back then (I was just beginning to get into metal and discovering the wooooonderful world of symphonic metal... ah, teen years, lol)
My opinion.....i love 2 see hear feel ..both of You....Very Very classy 👌...thx 4 the beautifull vid ....and keep on rollin this Beautifull Nightwish floor Train 🌺🦉🙏🏼
Love this song. Nuclear Blast really needs to upload a higher resolution version of this video (240p... REALLY!?). So many times here I see the resemblance to her sister Irene.
@SteveNL yes, but many of AF or ReVamp Videos, has problems with the audio. In this time, they are not so Big as Nightwish now...greetings from northern Germany and stay safe 🤗
The first song I ever heard from After Forever and made me an instant fan. Their self-titled album got me through the emotional last half of my 20s, and now at 37 I still go back and listen to this album every so often. It's so amazing to see what Floor's career has become after all these years. Such a legend!
I was a teenager in the 80's and it gives me the same vibes. That is a GREAT thing, I've listned to quite a few song from them now and they were phenomenal!!!💞😎
I remember that I re-watched "Energize Me" and "Being Everyone" by AF and "Never Enough" and "Phantom Agony" music videos by Epica many times when I needed to unwind as I was preparing for highschool exams. :-D My suggestions would be "Follow in the Cry" as that was one of the first demos by After Forever and it is still occasionally performed by MaYaN. And then, there is a song called "Strong", which Floor wrote when she was feeling down in the dumps, because of something that I am not going to specify just now.
floor jansen, created by odin, sent down from valhalla to heal the world, i'm convinced, btw wish she would return to after forever, being everyone, emphasis, and my choices are fire as well
Man, the funny thing about this is in that time I used to listen to Floor singing and my thought was: "man, this girl is sooo good...how would it be if she was on Nightwish?".
I saw Floor live several times back then in both After Forever and ReVamp - and Floor's full potential is really coming through, when she is live She is born to perform on stage - she is the whole package. Both Floor and Simone Simons - and Floor's sister Irene, were often on festivals singing together - great great times. You will not go wrong in reacting to anything from After Forever and ReVamp - it was a young Floor, but her voice, power and performance was buildt up in these years. By the way - her Northward project is also very cool, created in 2008, but first recorded and released in 2018 - so much Floor The Rock Chick from back in the days. And now, with Nightwish and her solo projects - using all her skills, techniques and really exploring her unbelievable ability to express emotions in her singing - she is by far the greatest singer in this century.
Thanks for giving After Forever some love!!! When thus song dropped it was thr first time I heard of her. Too bad this was after forever's last album....😥😢
This makes me feel old because this is my introduction to Floor Along with after forever covering Queen specifically who wants to live forever when I was 21. She was only 26 at the time of the release of this song. I literally have to listen to this song every day. My favourite outfit is when she was rocking out with the combat pants and chaps 🤘
I beg you (people new to AF as well) to listen to their album titled Invisible Circles. Starting from the first song. IMO it’s their best album that uses most of Floor’a vocals, and is a conceptual work.
She sings O Mio Bambino at one of her concerts and the metal fans were quite all the way through. Floor looked really Beautiful. She sings it with her band Revamp.
Iran Queiroz Mark was actually fired from After Forever five years before this album and video. Epica was three albums in when this video was released.
I know you guys were busy yesterday, but today's my birthday 9/13 and I'm old af now. I was hoping one day that I can get someone to react to Scardust - Tantibus II. They're a criminally unknown band out of Israel and were hoping you could shed some light on them. They have a new album coming out at the end of October and I'm hoping they can get some exposure. Love your reactions.
I know that NW fans hate the Amy Lee comparison, but I am afraid to say that Floor singing underwater a la 'Going Under' (and however many more Evanescence songs deal with drowning etc) doesn't help! does it?? Godd job as ever guys.
react to Emphasis, the very first After Forever official video... you can feel the purity in Floor's young voice...quality of this video in youtube is aweful, but sound is ok so I think it's worth a try...
found out about after forever on a dvd samper i believeit was gothic 1 or 2..... with exactly this song... loved it and really indulged in a lot of after forver after that ;)
must be brazuca to make such a meaningless comparison. After forever and nightwish has totally different proposals. besides Floor is much more mature with much more technique today than before.
@@davidbio2333 Agree with you about not comparing the two. Floor has progressed and evolved as any person should, and she would not sing anything she didn't like. I'm sure she has fond memories of AF, just as she is making wonderful memories with Nightwish. I think we should respect her choices, and just appreciate her remarkable talent and dedication to her life's passion.
So glad you're getting into After Forever. They remain one of my all time favorite bands. Speaking of outfits though, check out the video to the song Digital Deceit from the their Invisible Circles album. The song is great, but the video and the "uniforms" are pretty cringe worthy. LOL.
