i always found him the funniest in running man. and the best part of him as a comedian is that he doesn’t put people down just to get a few laughs. some people dislike him because he plays the role of a weak old man, but i admire how he can handle all the jokes being thrown at him, and accept them with incredible grace and self-security.

His character in running man might look easy and so so but he actually plays a really big role in completing the atmosphere in RM. He's really funny and relatable. When I first watched RM, I consider him as one of the funniest member.

It still breaks my heart that he didn't win daesang in 2021. He really deserve it :(

I honestly love his grumpy persona in RM, but it is also pretty obvious that he is actually a sweet guy with a really good sense of humor.

Shows how much of an impact a "true friend" can be towards you. Jae Seok and the Running Man PD who convinced Seok Jin to stay are the MVP, alongside Kwang Soo who helped him play the weak-link of the team. I rewatched some of the old episodes (ep 100 below) and you can definitely see Seok Jin wasn't really into it yet until Kwang Soo became his duo partner for a long time (until ep 300+).

You could definitely see why he takes any project involving singing or performing in front of a large audience seriously. Especially when the Running Man team had fan meets or his outing in 2021 on How Do You Play. His experiences made him who he is today. Even with his age, he's still committed to playing the weak ole member of the show, the butt of the jokes, the clumsy ahjussi. And he does it all with a smile.

Ji Seok Jin has a very unique character that many people misunderstood, but that is also one of his charms....

He works hard for sure. And even though he definitely plays the oldest hyung card sometimes/many times and seems careless to the younger members, it's been years that he has also been sweet and thoughtful to them. And for a culture that is strict about seniority, he's very strong inside to be able to take all the jokes the piled on at his expense. SeokJin oppa deffo is a hardworking man who has kept on trying.. and has his own brand of open-minded humour - I think his TikToks are funny. Ajusshi funny, but still funny. Am glad Yoo JaeSeok, the PD, KwangSoo and all the members helped him stay. Fighting Oppa! ❤️💪🏼

before, as a kid, i used to hate JSJ in RM due to his incompetent, but as i grew older, i came to understand that someone need to take the role as weakest member to make the show fun to watch, to make other shine n to be supporter. it was an entertainment show, not Olympics game where all of the member must be fit or strong. Hope this year 2022, JSj do well n keep healthy

I never knew his struggles. He is a strong man. I hope he will get Daesang next year for all the hardwork that he gives!!!

Actually all running man members are incredibly strong, I remember many guests in running man actually shocked by how strong Seokjin and Kwangsoo in real life

10:55 this is also true. By 2014 - 2015 he was strong enough to beat idols who first time coming to the show and was strong enough to go toe to toe with other stronger members like gary and jaesuk. Even won some of those battle

Ji Seok Jin is currently my most favourite Running Man character. His unique character makes this show better and the matter I like the most is he always gives his best despite his age. JSJ fighting forever! ✊🏼

I always felt sorry for him as running members made fun of him.Even though it's for the sake of comedy,I still think it's too much.It was even worse in nowadays episodes.He got attacked as soon as the show opened.There is a saying;'with great laughter comes great sacrifices'.My deepest respect to JSJ.Hope u won Daesang in 2022 grandpa ❤️❤️❤️

He became a singer first to become an MC, but it is also his lifelong dream to be a singer!!! He said if he has a second life, he will choose to be a singer instead. He is already the best singer i love the most, and I hope he keeps singing!!!

For me JSJ teach me, an ordinary one can still be an extra through endless effort and when u meet a right team that can be as close as family supporting each other.

My heart always ache a bit for him whenever they made a joke out of him in rm. Sometimes i laugh, sometimes i dont.

He is my favorite member

I believe in the saying "EVERYTHING SMALL COUNTS" and even the smallest things in life is the more IMPORTANT. So his appearance in Running Man is really essential and important because his the one who completes the family vibe and his actually funny and has a lot of ideas.

You forgot to mention Star Golden Bell. He was legendary as an MC in that show.

He went through so much T_T I'm so glad he kept fighting and became the man we love to this day!

Life was tough for everyone. I'm happy that JSJ finally had the confidence to sing/entertain without being intimidated by his younger sunbae. He really deserves everything that he have today. wow i didn't know he went through so many difficulties. it was hard for him to fit in as a singer or comedian but there were hardly any opportunities to pursue his dream as an MC. even now, he doesn't have a show where he's the main host (that i know of) so i feel bad for him. i hope he gets his own show and wins a daesang soon, he's funny and hardworking and deserves it!!

now i know why he want to leave early of running man, so many hardships he went through. his struggle almost similar to me, i'm almost at 30 and i still haven't achieve any yet. at my age i should be married and financial stable already but tbh, i have like nothing at all. i don't have saving money and have to stay away from relationship because why bother have relationship when i have really nothing. i have a job before but due to really want to pursuit my dream, i take a risk and quit my job and do what i try to achieve my financial freedom. year after year gone still in the same position but my knowledge is enough already to be sure. so i hope this new year in 2022 i will achieve from small slowly to climbing at top. i know i'm a loser, shouldn't done that. wish i have someone who can cheer me up 😔

several new episodes in runningman lately mostly about talking and we can see him shines a lot tbh.. he is very funny with the combination of yoo jaesuk and kim jongkook who talks a lot.. so sad he didn't win daesang this year. anyway he has a pretty good voice.. and also on this week he managed to win solo (bcs his teammates out first) against strong people, like kim jongkook and a female guest which is strong

I don't understand when people saying he's rude to other member but when every members constantly making fun of him they didn't comment on it. I see the situation as how you interact with your good friends irl, you make fun of each other. Plus, by doing so they helping each other to get more screen time. Like how everytime jsj talk and yjs pretending to fall asleep, it will be more likely to be aired. I'm not gonna comment on his comedies and his way of MC-ng, since every one have different taste. But I do enjoy his failed ad-libs because the other members reaction never disappoint (plus he still gets more air time)

Well, during the 'talk session' episode we know that JSJ was struggling with adapting to the program, the concept really was hard for him. It's only after RM go international around 50+ episodes that he finally found the right mindset to go about it. RM was something big and it's not easy to be cast in a big show. I'm glad he got it right and has been in it until today, now he just need to work hard for that Daesang.
