I feel like the Johnny Weir jealousy comes from a place of how it seems like people were a lot more accepting of Adam as a gay male figure skater, and it was not easy for Johnny. I think it was big of Adam to recognize that Johnny kind of paved a way to make it easier for Adam.
SammyKitty92 I love them both to the moon and back. many were really adamant that Johny Weir could not win or represent the figure skating sport because of his demeanor and sexuality. it robbed him of many opportunities and wins. so yeah I would be jealous too, really hope they get to meet each other
I love Adam and Johnny both but the question about whether or not Johnny is jealous is honestly kind of ridiculous? both men are living out their dreams right now. the olympic chapter of Johnny’s career has closed but he’s announcing with his best friend and doing exhibition skates and honestly I think he’s happier now than he was when he competed in the Olympics. Adam is more politically oriented and is speaking up for LGBTQ+ youth while still living out the Olympic part of his life. instead of comparing the two or saying which is the better skater, why don’t we look at these men as separate individuals who are both fantastic in their own right. real queens don’t put down other queens.
I love Adam but his response to the Johnny Weir rumored jealousy question was shady. He said "Maybe" when he could've easily just said "I don't know". Most people perceive maybe as yes.
I think Johnny Weir has done great for himself, tv show, music and now profesional commentator for the sport and when interviewed he is always posed and very well spoken, he is for sure a queen but never comes across as an attention seeker as Rippon but are we forgetting Rudy Galindo whom in the 80’s went all out to support the LGBT 🏳️🌈 community in and out of the ice skating ring? If somebody deserves mentioning is Rudy Galindo.

Why would Johnny Weir be jealous of Adam Rippon?? Johnny is a three time Nationals champion, two-time Olympian. Johnny is clearly more accomplished, and the better skater of the two.

Adam has been massively praised for being the first openly gay athlete in skating so there is a possibility Johnny thought "what if I had done that". Is he brooding in the dark? doubt it, but I'm sure the thought did cross his mind
Exactly, I don't think Johnny is jealous or anything, if you look at his commentary of Adam's performances, they have been mostly positive. Nothing like those sly remarks that Scott Hamilton loved to make about Johnny.. Also, Johnny is the better skater of the two.... I believe, this 'jealous' thing came up because of the speculation by Dave Lease from 'The Skating Lesson' ...

Adam is being praised for being open Johnny was ridiculed, being open cost him a medal in 2010 Olympics. Johnny was denied many opportunity because he refused to pretend he was something he wasn't. Keep praising Adam for walking through a door Johnny kicked down!

It annoys to hear that he's being praised, when Johnny was and is an amazing skater. To me adam is quite an annoying queen. Prefer Johnny. Also how can they claim adam to be the first openly gay skater, when he had johnny who was such a faboulous queen on that skating ring. Johnny definitely paved the way for him.

Yeah, out of all the people on this show, he definitely has more bragging rights so kind of weird to bring up him being 10th at the Olympics like that's such a horrible thing. Every single Olympian worked their butt off to get there.
