The music wasn’t bothering me because I didn’t notice it was gone. But now that you mentioned it. I do miss the dramatic pause of the music whenever you were flabbergasted at something lol it added dramatic effect it was nice 😂
I hate how any character who objects to Hardin and Tessa's relationship, such as Molly or Tessa's Mum, are depicted as being unreasonable or antagonistic: only for them to be 100% accurate!
Well, Molly was pretty shady to be fair. But Tessa's mom always had her best intentions. So I don't understand the hate for her. I looked at tweets after like "Wow, so no one liked the mom but me?" lol
I do think her mother was pretty irrational. I mean, we all knew Hardin was a POS, but her mom walked in on him and Tessa once and stopped her college tuition mid-term, leaving her homeless. That's pretty fucked, imo.
@@katie5998 Yeah but in that case it does feel like Hand of the Author. Like you know how some characters react so naturally that you forget you're reading a plot, but others you can so clearly tell that the author is ensuring the most convenient convoluted bullshit to ensure that you hate them. Like the mother is objectively correct, but the author wrote her to seem unreasonable from the start so even when she's right you want to disagree anyway
another little fact about anna todd: while she was a 25 year old married woman writing all these weird scenarios about 18 year old harry styles, she was telling people she was 15 and posting pictures of her younger self (or maybe another person?) to "prove" it. her grown a$$ knew what she was doing was nasty
Didn't Harry blocked her on social media too,no wonder, she deserved that, fanfic based on irl people (and in this case someone younger than her) is so damn creepy
the fact that the reveal of hardin's betrayal is SO much worse in the books than it is in the movie, the bet was actually to take her virginity and to SHOW PROOF. dude showed the group her bloody sheets after they had sex but told her he had thrown them away. he had then used the money he'd gotten from the bet as DOWNPAYMENT for their NEW APARTMENT. this dude wanted to TRAP her before she found out the truth and what's crazier is, this isn't even the worst thing he does in the series!
Bro I remember that in the book. I wasn't even surprised at that the fact that he was using her for a bet ( I was spoiled) but the bloody sheets THREW ME OFF GURAD
@@itscherylplayz8925 yeah, i was thrown for an absolute loop the first time i read this, the fact she takes him back at all is awful but not only does he betray her trust AGAIN but he actively blocks her from pursuing her dream career because he doesn’t want her to move away from him. hardin never learns, he says he’s remorseful yet never shows genuine remorse for his actions and continues to repeat his mistakes, KNOWING he’s hurting tessa.
I can't possibly take seriously a movie where the lead character's name sounds like "hard-on" and the actor playing him has an even more ridiculous name.
It's so weird that Anna Todd was writing thirsty Harry Styles fan fiction where she was a self-insert while her husband was deployed and HS's age was questionable.
Why is that weird? Y’all really act like y’all never had a crush on a celebrity. The age thing is valid, but stop acting like writi Fanfiction while married is weird or a crime. I
@@BabyGirlTiny She wrote a self-insert sexual fan fiction with a minor. I've had a celebrity crush but I never wrote fan fiction where I had sex with any of them and he abused me.
@@BabyGirlTiny ummm she was in her mid 20s writing about a teenager. Oh and she lied about her age when she wrote it too. This has nothing to do with it just being a 'crush'.
… in the sequel after this, Tessa ends up discovering that Hardin did something similar to another girl where a video taken of the act circulated and Natalie ended up losing her scholarship, got kicked out of her church and from her house (when Natalie went to Hardin for help, he refused and to this day, he didn’t feel guilty for what he did to Natalie)… only for Tessa to forgive him in one night, and the next/first time we encounter Natalie in the book, we discover that Natalie had forgiven Hardin and she was (I wanted to punch the phone I was reading this from, I swear to god) “praying to God for his redemption”. It’s completely disgusting the way that people continue defending this book series - just because he never physically hurt Tessa, doesn’t mean that Hardin’s a deeply abusive and misogynistic person. And that’s not going into how Anna Todd completely misunderstands Wuthering Heights (and takes that famous quote out of context) and Pride and Prejudice - to the point where I suspect she never read the books in the first place.
Poor Natalie. He got her kicked out of her home and church and made her lose her scholarship, only for her to still want him?? I’m a Christian as well, but I wouldn’t want a guy back for everything he did to me, and I’ll look for another guy that’s kind and humble.
Exactly I wanted to pull my hair out. If I knew a man did this to a girl and his girlfriend forgave him by thinking "He changed"- I would hate both of them equally
warning if you do watch the second film; fans complained that the first one didn't include enough smut so they made the second film 80% awkward "baking cookies" scenes with some narrative development sprikled inbetween
So I watched the movie in 2019 thought it was good. Heard people complaining about the movie decided to read the book loved it and defended Tessa's horrible behavior..2nd movie came out hated it!! 3rd movied came out despised it!! Decided to reread the book again..I couldn't stand Tessa character in the book after the 3rd time reading it..Both of them got on my nerves..
The fact that the author was so much older than harry hurts even more when you consider how many grown women were obsessed with him when he was underage. He’s been borderline groomed so many times in the industry since he became famous it’s really heartbreaking. His thing in One direction was “dating older women”, despite him being the youngest member of the group 😒 Harry deserves better
I love you for calling out the movie industry’s idea of “cool college kids” as being a bunch of loser adults. I need boomers to understand we don’t find people like that to be cool, they look like they’ve never outgrown their teenage angst 🤧 They probs don’t get it because they themselves haven’t outgrown high school yet 🥴
Oh Miss Bunny, Girl, you good ! B’cos as soon as they said “Hello” I said “Byeee “ You’re young so you have time to waste on this….. 🤨 I don’t have the luxury of age on my side. But….. Thank you for suffering on our behalf Hun . Will rename you Saint Bunny!!! 🤣
I think many dislike the mother because of how she is in the books. I didn't watch the movies but a review of them where they said that she is kinda nice in the movies so that the whole "i'm cutting you off"-thing came out of nowhere... And also if you found their relationship in the movies awful you should read the books, it's so much worse 💀
miss anna todd, ive read her story on wattpad every time it was updated, i guess for legal reasons, she had to change her story, but it was about her and harry, and she was a huge one direction fan. people who werent even a part of the fandom was reading her story online which prompt her to release the book.... and let me tell you, the wattpad version at the age od 12-14 was better than the movie (&books)
Not me getting excited seeing my comment. I’m glad to know I encouraged this! 😂😂 Also, I was not disappointed by the commentary. I am not gonna lie, I do enjoy a good fanfic. But Anna made sure to make Harry the most undesirable version of himself I’ve ever read. She made the character so toxic, and his personality was so grating. Zero redeeming qualities and every little bit of growth there was to be had gets taken right on back. Over and over. It’s exhausting. I never made it through the books themselves.
I mean I don't think she needs to drink to hang out with a group of people she may like. There are a ton of reasons someone might not drink. But I don't see why she even bothered staying there, she DOESN'T like them lol
@@TheBlushBunny it's the movie/show mistake that most irritates me. I love a slow burn and I can understand an immediate attraction but to have enemies to lovers with no reason bothers me so much.
@@TheBlushBunny ALSO you have such a wonderful voice and your content is great. I'm gonna watch all your videos once for comprehension and then again as bedtime ASMR 😂😻
First of all, don't most people who write self-insert fanfics like this usually try to portray the celebrity crush stand in as...idk...a little nicer? What kind of person goes out of their way to write them like this?
She was 24 when she wrote this and Harry was 18? This lady crazy she knew exactly what she was doing by writing this....I'm so sorry Harry. She's such a creep
you just done took the words out my mouth, this is the exact thought process I was going through watching this atrocity 🙄please please watch the next 2 movies, they are so much worse, you're going to hate it
I hate this series my ex friend is literally obsessed and tried to make me watch. All the characters suck and I just hate the dynamic-furthermore there are so many better fanfics and original stories to read on wattpad.
It's honestly so much worse in the book. Haven't read it myself, didn't want to put myself through that so, I just absorbed most of the key plot points through cultural osmosis. According to people that have read it, Hardin's bet had nothing to do with getting Tessa to "fall in love with him." He bet his friends that he could take her virginity, presenting them with her bloody sheets and a used condom as proof.
I remember the first time watching this and I thought it was boring, so I stopped it right at the end didn’t think it was the end at the time. Then one day I decided to come back and rewatch it (big mistake) I found out that I literally only had like two minutes left of the movie and I was really disappointed
This whole movie series really bothered me because their relationship was so abusive in the books, and that was after they revised it from the original fanfiction. Someone had shed light on what the original bet that was made between Hardin and his friends; that was just scratching the surface on how cruel Hardin was to Tessa as well as other women he had been with. So seeing that dynamic being casted as a coming of age, steamy love story felt disturbing.
lmao girl did you see the kanye west situation with saying that friends wasn’t funny 🤣😅 well apparently he didn’t write that but said he wish he did or something.
My friend dragged me with her to see this when it came out and oh boy I was so bored the entire time. Also that guy isn't even hot plus that accent is ridiculous, sorry. I love that girl but bless her soul she has such bad taste
The last part left me speechless 🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦🏾♀️👀👀 its a big fat⁉️👀 and whats it about this hardin boi nothing against the actor but he is not that....breath taking. Thats a 08/15 normal dude....the same with 365 days... the whole movie was🚮😂😂🤣
